At least four personnel of the Nigerian Police Force have been killed by gunmen who attacked popular Four Corner Junction, Ozalla, in Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State.

A community source who spoke to newsmen said the policemen were conducting a stop-and-search at a checkpoint when the gunmen opened fire on them.
A video seen on social media by SaharaReporters on Tuesday showed the lifeless body of a police officer in uniform on the expressway, while a police patrol vehicle burnt nearby.

A user who posted the video wrote: “Policemen just lost their lives at four corner junction, Enugu state...the Expressway that leads to Imo, Abia state from Enugu.”

“Unknown gunmen attacked the police checkpoint at four corners Enugu today being Sunday and killed policemen at Tomorrow is sit at home in Biafra land if you know you know,” another one added.

As of the time of this report, the Police Public Public Relations Officer for Enugu State, DSP Daniel Nduke, has not answered calls or responded to messages.
Similarly, Mr Dan Nwomeh, the Special Assistant to Governor Peter Mbah on Media, had not provided a comment or confirmation of the incident.

A former Information Minister and 2023 All Progressives Grand Alliance governorship candidate, Dr Frank Nweke Jr., condemned the attack, describing it as an act of wickedness.

In a statement on Sunday, Dr Nweke said, “Earlier today, the Ozalla community in Nkanu West LGA, Enugu, experienced the terror of so-called unknown gunmen who attacked policemen on checkpoint duty at the Four Corner Junction along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. Their patrol vehicle was also destroyed by fire.

“I extend my condolences to the families of the deceased and the men and officers of the Enugu Police Command. It is unacceptable for anyone to die in such a brutal manner while simply performing their duty to protect citizens and maintain public order.”

The attack and the killing have no justification. May the criminals not a escape justice. But I have some questions.

1.
It is alleged that the attack happened between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. I passed through the junction between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. and saw no sign of the attack. Even the burnt police van had been removed by the time I got to the area. This means that security officers swiftly removed all the evidence of the attack. Why? Could it be for security reasons?

2.
Check the picture used on this post. I heard that a police van was burnt in the attack. Not even the picture of the burnt van at the scene is used here, not even the picture of the four-corner checkpoint. Why? Why not use a more related picture?

3.
The names of the killed officers are not revealed here. Why? I don't mean to insinuate that the attack never happened. People said it actually happened. But why are the identities of the killed officers hidden?

In conclusion, the attackers' identities are not the only questions here.

There are more roadblocks in the Southeast mounted by the Police and Army than there are in the whole of Nigeria put together.

Each roadblock you pass, you must raise your hands 🙌🏾 up.
The people are living under threats from the military, constantly under attack from both the military and the militants.

At the end of it all, the people are the victims.

I am not against any tribe seeking to start their dream country. But remember there is still diversity within our ethnicities. An Ijubu man does not speak the same dialect as an Ikale man. So if Yorubas have a nation, we are still not one language. It's still an extension of the current Nigerian tribal complexities. We are better as one Nigeria.

seed of dreaded ipob militia planted in the east have germinated properly and strongly rooted, it would take years too uproot with more loss of lives and property, MNK is a very wicked hearted, ruthless and cruel igboman accepted by the Igbos as their savior from Fulani chains, 75% of officers killed is Igbo, unfortunately Igbos are paying dearly for it till many years to come, most times monsters disguise as angels

Comment? Where is the man whom you elected as President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, including the police? Obi can only condole with the family of the poor officers massacred by APC government reign of insecurity.
