Yes I think this the story, U.S not Canada. Okay if it says they're not 2nd hand, I didn't see that part then, but the trains don't look so new too

Oponu, oya look for another negative news in the good news.

Meanwhile, in other news:
Otti set to clear gutter in Aba.
Obi commiserates with a US woman who just lost her dog.

see where you sound so foolish. Red line was bought from a state in US . Was nt used by the said state because thir rail project didnt get completed , they had to sell the train to Lagos gvt un used. Most of you lot here are too wicked for anything positive

Can anyone alive believe that a certain group of people did not vote for the man that accomplished this project instead they want to force a foolish soul who does not reason in the way of his people on Lagosians.

Claimed is name was Chinedu only to suddenly change it to Gbadebo to fool who ? Definitely not the great Yorubas.

Yet they will be the ones claiming someone voted out of tribalism, can any rationale being give me 1 single reason why you will have GRV vs Sanwolu in an election yet you chose to vote GRV. Do such fools not need mental evaluation to save them from foolishness..

Just one single reason even if it's a bad one n earn 10K.

I'm not holding fort for any side.

I just want to address your illusion of control opinion.
This is what is called self attribute bias in psychology.

You can't say positive result was only achieved because of your decision when you didn't actually test the other decision(s).
We should always recognize the role of chance and external factors

You will be better off in your life learning how to spell "bought" rather than getting agitated over Sanwo-Olu' or second hand trains.

Fake news.

The trains are not used. A city ordered for the trains, but there was an election before they finished building the trains and the new government decided that it didn't want the trains. The Lagos State Government then bought it from the manufacturer. I created the thread back then.

The Red Line was started and completed by Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Bro abeg, that guy's comment deserves no response. Some people will never see anything good in whatever the government is doing.

I'm sure he's bitter because he lacks such good things in his own state.

I'm not a Lagosian but we must appreciate good things while we encourage them to do more.

By the way, this is for us.. not even for the people in government.
Is it Sanwo-Olu that'll make use of the train or Tinubu?

People should learn to keep quiet if they can not see anything good in whatever others are doing.

The trains are used trains Sanwolu purchased in Canada and the news was shared on nairaland when he went for the purchase.

The intercity rail system was first initiated by Governor Bola Tinubu in 2003 under "Lagos Urban Transportation Project". Besides the BRT network, the rail network never took off as it was postponed multiple times by successive governors until Sanwolu.

Are you this foolish? It's a new train not used.
It was purchased in US not Canada

I feel we should just appreciate every of our little achievements.

Rail transportation isn't a profit generating enterprise anywhere in the world......the new govt at the time could believe they could still make use of the hold ones they had and not taken on extra debt acquiring new ones or maybe some malfeasance had been detected in the purchase and could refuse to go ahead with the deal.

You are right to a very large extent. But IMO, public transportation is quite profitable to a govt that harnesses the opportunities it present. For example, almost 90% of the German population uses the public transportation system. Now, while I know for a fact that the German govt generates a lot of money from it, one needs to look past just that and consider the direct or indirect contributions it makes to a city or country's economy...smooth and timely movement of goods and people (which boosts productivity, tourism, etc).

Lagos is a shame to any developing city, celebrating something that should have happened like 20years back based on its worth as a state even before tinubu or the fools leaving their states like ekiti, osun, oyo, ondo to claim lagos were born.

A rail expert should kindly educate some of us. Which one is red, blue rail line I always read here? Is it about their speed capacity or size of the train? Or the rail line?

Actually, if you read my 2022 post (it's the last post on the first page of this thread), it ended up costing them more.

The manufacturer had almost finished the train by the time the new governor said that he didn't want it. The manufacturer sued the government and won compensation in court. The old government had previously made part payment for the trains.

Yet Milwaukee still didn't get the trains. The manufacturer sold them to Lagos (the reason Lagos went for it is because it was cheaper because the manufacturer had already made a lot of money from it).

How did what you post concern the red rail that is being commissioned. Some of you just wake up and keep drooling on tinubu. Go and work and forget about tinubu ,you will be alright. Your destiny helper isn't tinubu, try look for him/her and you will be alright

Hemanwel:
Lagos State government is trying, but can still do better. The central government led by Senator Bola Tinubu isn't trying at all! Instead of focusing on redeeming the battered image of his administration by providing good governance, which is the primary responsibility, Tinubu is making all efforts to silence oppositions of his maladministrative government and using tax payers money to pay media thugs to assassinate the characters of oppositions.

Tinubu must be kicked outta power!!!

get your facts right the train coaches are from Milwaukee in the USA. It was built for a company but the deal was later cancelled and Lagos state government saw it and took over it as a cheaper option so stop your misinformation
