Mr Minister keep your lying mouth, we know the minimal increase in power generation is as a result of increase in water level that increased the supply from hydro station to the national greed and not because of any intervention.

At the peak of heat period next year when huoseholds need home gadgets like freezer and air-conditioner, we would see if transformers wonts start blowing up and national grid start collapsing, that is when we would be able to access your acievement.

But for now just keep shut and pray Tinubu do not replace you

Where I live in uyo I can say this is true. But I don't think it's up to even 20 % because I travel a lot to many places
That should likely be Osongama, Ewet Housing or Shelter Afrique. These highbrow areas of Uyo are usually given special attention and I have confirmed good power supply in Osongama and Ewet Housing. Now that's far less than 20% of Uyo, talk less of the whole state. I learned Ikot Abasi also has good power supply too. While I don't know that much about the situation in other LGAs, but Oron has very terrible power supply. Sunking solar generator sales so much in Oron. Almost everyone (who can afford it) is buying it.

These government is confused with it's propaganda.

Tinubu wants to force his imaginary achievements on the people, irrespective of the suffering.

Tariff is extremely high over the increased tax. Ordinary Nigerians can't afford it..... How are they enjoying the light?

Estimated bill is on a very high side.... Prepaid meter is now very expensive to acquire.

The 40% is made up of the rich class and a tiny fraction of the middle class....

I can't confirm his 40% data but I can tell you that in Aguda and Surulere where I live, there has been no power outage for the past 6 days not a single minute outage. And this has been a normal occurrence for months.

Story for the gods 👿.
They way these criminals quote figures, like We are a bunch of illiterates in this Country.
The only reason for the increase in supply is because of the inhumane increase in electricity tariffs.
There are still so many communities, that haven't seen not to talk about enjoying light this 2024.
Talking as if they are doing Us a favor, when that's the the reason they were put in the position.

There are approximately 26 million homes in Nigeria, and 40% of that is 10.6 million homes. The Minister of Power wants us to believe that it supplies 20 hours of electricity per day to a whole 10,600,000 households using just 5,500MW of electricity which he claims the country generates. No be juju be that one? undecided

Electricity supply has improved in some quarters in Nigeria tbh, we can't neglect the fact that increased gas supply to the very many thermal plants has contributed immensely to this improved supply (Only a few percentage of the electricity generated come from the hydroelectric power plants - for those mentioning rainy season) - The segregation of consumers into different bands, mass metering agenda, and the imposition of a bilateral agreement between the discos and gencos is part of the few changes the ministry of power has initiated over the years to remove notable bottlenecks and further spur improvement in the sector.

👉🏻 To the assertion of the Minister of Power that 40% of electricity consumers enjoy not less than 20hrs power supply - A report from statistica says the total number of electricity consumers registered with the eleven discos stands at 12.6million as of September 2023. Given this, only about 5.04million consumers across the country are been referred to here.

👉🏻 This in itself is still very poor given how much improvement is ideal in the sector taken cognizance of the number of Nigerian homes and businesses that need to enjoy steady power supply to spur economic growth.

However, I am not sure up to 10% not to talk of 40% of Nigeria homes get up to 40%. Adelabu just lied.

Can 40% of Nigerian Households even afford this Band A? undecided

Electricity tariff is expensive all over the world.

Would Nigerians prefer not to have electricity when it’s needed or manage their use of electricity as it is done all over the world, while paying the fair price?

The 40% enjoying the electricity are complaining that meter is running. Nigerians have been so used to cheap things that they don’t want to pay commensurate cost for services being consumed.

Well I am on Band B and we have about 22 - 23 hours on a day they take the light, most times it's almost always on like they switch it off to cool down for a minute and switch it on back.

We know it's just a matter of time till we start paying band A fees.

I believe they are still using one side eye to look at us. angry

I do not know the part of Nigeria you reside in or if you reside in Nigeria at all.

But from my end and from where I live I enjoy over 20hrs of stable electricity and am not a Band A customer.

Before we crucify this man, let's query the data.
He didn't say 40% of Nigeria's population, he said 40% of Nigerian Electricity Consumers. The title of this post is either a click bait or sheer ignorance on the subject matter.

According to the regulator (NERC), as of July 2024, Nigeria has 13,293,739 electricity customers. This count is not per capita. It is a count of verified customers connected to the National Grid.

On the 20Hours p.d claim, the minister simply referred to the population of Band A customers which is significantly increasing by the day. While the 20hours of power supply p.d is not absolute, it is however empirical.

Let's cut the Honorable Minister some slack.

The improvement is due to heavy downpour of rain and not because they added significant amount of electricity. It's a usual thing to enjoy improved electricity during rainy season. Look out for next year it would be the same.
Why are you exhibiting your ignorance with confidence? Most of the generation comes from Gas not hydro and there are significant improvements you can track disco load here https://niggrid.org/DisCoLoadProfile
