The last time i checked, i heard Effenberg and Carsten Jancker are into porn industry.
grin grin grin
And now thats Le Chacal talking grin grin grin

You got him(Dayokanu der).
I heard SAF was ranked 5th all time best coach so far!!!! Dayokanu too heard and he was shell shocked grin grin
SAF was placed above Ancellotti and Hitzfield. I dont know the source now but lets hope Dayokanu will be magnanimous enuff to let us see the link. I havent seen it myself.

Anways, i kinda like Hitzfield personally.
All hail SAF!!
Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by dayokanu(m): 3:01pm On Nov 01, 2007
Dont be fooled by Dayokanu's antics.
Lets sum up the overall achievements in terms of titles won, man-management, player development and continuity.
You are making it sound as if Ferguson never won anything in Europe . . . . .He won with Aberdeen and Man Utd.

Hitzfeld won Europes TOP Prize with Dortmund and Bayern what about that UCL.

Now lets look at the areas where Hitzfeld does not measure up.
Hitzfeld has not won 1/3 of the titles Ferguson has won as a manager.
Ferguson has been managing Man Utd now for over 2 decades(continuity). If he's not good . . . . he would have been kicked out.
Ferguson started in 1974 while Hitzfeld started 10 years later. Hitzfeld has continued to move up in his career from Switzerland to Dortmund now Bayern. SAF should move up too. Guy Roux was not sacked for about 50 year guess he must be a good coach. Hitzfeld has won 6 german leagues while SAF has won 9 EPL

Alex Ferguson's man management skills cannot be quantified . . . . .he is simply a GENIUS.
The Knight not only unearth global brands like Beckham and Scholes . . .he made football managers out of the players that played under him.
Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes, Bryan Robson and Keano(Premiership) and the managers of Scotland and Celtic were all Fergie's students.

Where are the former students of Hitzfeld.
The last time i checked, i heard Effenberg and Carsten Jancker are into porn industry.
Being a great manager is NOT ONLY about winning titles in Europe . . .

Lotthar Matthaus is now a coach he has coached Salzburg, Red Star belgrade and Hungarian National team, Sammer one of his boys in Dortmund is now a coach, Heikko herrlich one of his boys in Dortmund is now a coach for the German Under 17. Marcel Koller present Bochum coach is one of hitzfeld's proteges in Grasshopper, Torsten Fink is a coach in Austria. Andreas Moller is a coach now and many others So don't go into that.

It is about ruthlessness, leadership, bravery, knowledge of the game, a willingness to trust one's instincts and to be decisive.

Now tell me . . . . .Do u really think Capello and Hitzfeld come close to Alex Ferguson?

Yeah I think Cappello and Hitzfeld in particular did better than SAF over time.

Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by Jackal(m): 3:21pm On Nov 01, 2007
@ Dayokanu,

Whatz wrong with u?
Dont let us beef again with ur comments.

I mentioned Ferguson's students as football managers of elite clubs in the world and u are naming SALZBURG?
For Bleep's Sake . . . . .Roy Keane was still a player as at 2 years ago and now he is managing a club in the PREMIERSHIP.
Gordon Strachan manages CELTIC . . . .Steve McClaren manages England, Walter Smith manages Scotland . . . .they all learnt under FERGUSON.
Mentioning all those clubs is like me naming PAUL INCE who now manages MK DONS and Darren Ferguson of PETERSBOROUGH.
Wait a minute . . . . .Is SALZBURG listed on UEFA club ranking? tongue tongue tongue

Hitzfeld keeps moving about because he is not comfortable.
Man United would have booted Ferguson out if he was under-performing at Man Utd.
Ferguson always deliver and mind u . . . . .he took over Man Utd when United was not only POOR but always fighting RELEGATION.
Man Utd in 1986 is like Derby County/ Sunderland of today so dont even mention Ferguson's name in the same breath with Hitzfeld.

Ferguson is so good . . . . .he made REAL MADRID a dumping ground for Man Utd rejects.
Carlos Quieroz, Van Nistelrooy, David Beckham and Gabriel Heinze!!!!!!
Next year, Giggs-Neville and Scholesy will be shipped to Real Madrid to offer em more experience. grin grin grin
Dont get it twisted . . . .Hitzfeld is also a living LEGEND but he doesnt come close to Ferguson.

P.S. Are u aware of this list of top 50 managers? Hitzfeld was ranked 31st while Ferguson was ranked 4th.
All the peops that ranked above Ferguson are all DEAD. grin grin grin grin
In that wise . . . . .Ferguson is the greatest living manager on the planet.

Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by Jackal(m): 3:58pm On Nov 01, 2007
@ tkb417,

As a matter of fact, i don't really reckon with the list.
The list is kind of biased.
Arsene Wenger was ranked 10th, Mourinho was 16th, Lippi 17th, Scolari 18th, Del Bosque 19th and Capello 21st.
How did they arrive at such kizzack? Wenger above Capello?
Something must be wrong somewhere . . . . .Lemme get the URL for u on ma iPod-touch. grin grin grin grin grin

@ Dayokanu,

U mentioned Hitzfeld has moved from Switzerland to Dortmund and now Bayern AND that Fergie should move up?
Where else do u want Fergie to go? He is in the biggest club of the biggest league in the whole world.
He transformed a poor Man utd club into a global brand . . . . .Fergie's amazing management skills brought wealth to Man Utd.
Ferguson took over the club when everything was pear-shaped . . . .he turned things around and we all know what the answer is.
Therefore . . . . he has nowhere else to go, he currently manages the richest/biggest club in the world.
Geddit?
Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by dayokanu(m): 4:11pm On Nov 01, 2007
Sammer was coach of Dortmund, matthaus was coach of Hungarian national team, He even coached Red Star Belgrade in The UCL, Marcel Koller is coach of Bochum,

Hitzfeld won UCL in Dortmund the grand prize in European football and he left left at the top. You can also say Marcelo Lippi that left Italy and Aime Jacquet

too were uncomfortable. he went for higher Challenge Like you saying Mourinho was uncomfortable in Porto that was why he left!!

Hitzfeld took Dortmund from Nowhere to win the UEFA champions league. So tell me something special about SAF.

Who rated Hitzfeld in 34th position and SAF 4th? I want to see the name of a respectable personality stating clearly his reason not someone who had an Hangover.

How can I believe a list that has 6 of the top 10 coaching in England? No Italian or German coach in top 10 yet these are the 2 most succesful teams in Europe and they

Hardly use foreign coaches

I can also come and say Onigbinde is number one in the world!!!! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article2437525.ece
Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by Jackal(m): 5:28pm On Nov 01, 2007
@ Dayokanu,

Hangover from binge drinking? grin grin grin grin
That list is dodgy.
Wenger hasnt done enough to merit top 10 list but then u never know.
I think consistency is also a key here. . . . . . .which might count in favour of Le Arse's gaffer.
The stat shows Arsene has never failed to take Arsenal into UCL campaign . . . that could have been the reason why he makes top 10.

Back to the subject . . . . .
Seriously, u gotta admit Ferguson leads the pack.
Tell me any student/assistant of Hitzfeld that manages a top-flight team.
I am not talking Salzburg . . . . .Le Chacal is talking about national football teams.

Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by dayokanu(m): 6:32am On Nov 02, 2007
A list that has 6 of the first ten from English football should not be reckoned with.

When Milan was conquering the whole of Europe with Arrigo Sacchi and he is not in top ten is that not ridiculous!! All the coaches that coached Bayern to that treble UCL in

the 70's were not listed.

Fola anyone is a professional if that listing can be said to be done by professionals!!

@ Jackal I don't see any reason why it should be National team football all these coaches we are raving about have hardly coached a National team before.

Sammer has coached Dortmund and Stuttgart what is your take on that. Managerial jobs hardly come bigger. Then qualifying for the UCL is no big deal to some clubs

like Juve, Porto, Lyon, Real but winning is what matters this is not the olympics where participation only is enough, You need a lot more than that!!
Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by dayokanu(m): 6:48am On Nov 02, 2007
Did any of you see Bayerns game on Wednesday against Mochengladbach? Those KLONI strike partners are the hottest in Europe right now see those goals

Una for suffer for UCL this season. God save all of you!!!
Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by dayokanu(m): 7:03am On Nov 02, 2007
Klose 12 goals in 13 games, Luca Toni 12 goals in 13 games. Who can beat that!!! Kloni strike force- The greatest since Alexander the great.

jackal you are oblivious about europe no doubt all you know is EPL. for ur info arigo sacchi and capellohave student like ancelloti, rijkard, donadoni, van basten, gullit, etc. ur SAF produced crappy coaches like himself, imagine his student coach sunderland, celtic etc, LOL. mine are milan, barca, italy etc.
what the sence and wisdom in ur post. the fact is SAF is an average coach and hi will produce average student like those u mentioned.

Dayo never mind they are all haters.

TKB417 i am begining to loose my respect for you. dont think you can discuss anything about ITALY with me. be it futball or thier history or ROMAN empire or anything. were was you when we were posting about thier glory days .

@ gabrielgb,

You do talk through ur arse sometimes.
Why cant people read well before posting?
Lemme break u something proper . . . . .

When i was mentioning Fergie's students . . . .it was in respect to Hitzfeld/Ferguson comparison and not Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Cappello.
Always take time to read ma posts before jumping off like a damaged .38 automatic pistol.
Now that u have mentioned Capello and Sacchi . . . , do they have the number of titles Ferguson has copped in Aberdeen and Man United?
Ferguson has tutored many people as a manager . . . .His side-kick(Carlos Queiroz) had a stint with Real Madrid for a season.

Mark Hughes, Steve McClaren, Walter Smith, Alex McLeish, Steve Bruce, Roy Keane . . . .all these peops learnt under Ferguson.
If u combine all the factors that makes a good manager . . . . Ferguson beats everyone hands down.
This is why i think he is the greatest living manager on planet earth.

Respect for me!!
Let me teach a little thing. In Soccer put together, i cant be your mate never.
whatever you read from DAYOKANU is just to rile me and nothing else. He hates UNITED with a passion and i hate Bayern too, No wahala.

See, i dont support any Calcio team for now and although i have respect for the almighty AC cos i havent seen any futbal follower who doesnt like AC.

Back to your self acclaimed futbol knowledge, its still part of Nairaland wonders that people like you will come and say rubbish. See, you can start it and ill gladly put you, your coach and your contemporaries in your silo like i did to your mentor yesterday.

Let me break something for you proper, you dont come on a web blog and spew claptrap when you obviously donnt know who is at the other side.

If you have questions and you need tutor in any league, ask me, ill teach you. Cry babies like you need a place in the cooler and ill gladly put you where you belong.

PS: you dont ask people questions on a web forum, people respond whenever he/she feels the topic is appealing.

Like Dayokanu said, how much souvenirs have you got, how many stadia have you been to? when did you start seeing soccer on TV? what games have you seen in your life?
i dont do personal shits but since thats what you want, give it to me, imme teach u a little.

Cut the f'king respect. And whats all these hating about Dayokanu from u? ask him, we might meet later today and discuss you over some bottles of bingeys. guess what we'll gonna do, laff at ya posts grin grin grin

Go and sleep my friend and dont say a word no more or grin grin grin

these bunch of loosers you call students of SAF what have they won in futbal, lots of pathetic names you mentioned in your post. can they stand sacchi or capello's students.

you dont have to like calcio, italy , or azzurri, no wahala, but dont beef.

by the way, do i need to be at the stadium b4 i know SAf aint good enough. I beg lets stop is and tal something better.

EPL, 3 lions and whatever can not stand calcio, azzurri etc. save ur post man.

@ gabriel da mongrel,

You are so stupid u don't even have a clue of what u are saying.
I think u have a rotten luck of being born in the wrong century . . . U should have perished with the TITANIC.
Calcio ma ass . . . .Do u know how many times English clubs have gone to Italy to disgrace the so called Italians.
I remember Man Utd beating Juve 3-2 at Turin in 1999 and beating em 3-0 in 2003.
What about Arsenal's demolition of Inter Milan @ San Siro or Liverpool's emphatic effort in the Champions league of 2005.

What do i expect from a simpleton like u.
You are one of those ninnies who still live and thrive on past glory . . . . .Hate it or love it, EPL reigns supreme these days.
Why should anyone even take Italian footie serious? A league that has been ravaged by massive bribery and corruption.
Roma, AC Milan and Juventus were all involved in match-fixing scandals so we don't reckon with your stupid league that is devoid of fair play.
In the association of em mental handicaps . . . .You should be a life president . . . .You are so clueless i suggest u see a shrink.
Fucking Arrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by gabrielgb: 4:36pm On Nov 03, 2007
hey jackal, Milan comprehensively beat ur arse twice, they taught you futball. you are just as stupid as ur fellow ELP idiots. did you forget inter already defeated arsenal 3-0 in higbury? or do you just have a bias memory? that season man u defeated juve, juve got to the final and 2 calcio teams played the final ( something u guys will never achieve.)

You are one of those ninnies who still live and thrive on past glory . . . . .Hate it or love it, EPL reigns supreme these days.

supreme my foot look hommie that statement is so so stupid. past and present italy still has is. we are the present wc an cl holders and a jerk like you call that past glory? i wonder what you do with your brain. you are such a jerk. do u even think the 3 lions will qualify for european cup next year.

Roma, AC Milan and Juventus were all involved in match-fixing scandals so we don't reckon with your stupid league that is devoid of fair play.

who told you roma was involved. even if there was a scandal we still play good in europe.

look man you are an embarrassment to the society of morons, i think you should be ostracized. you are so dumb.

i will advice you make use of ur brain next time b4 u reply me.

You are simply a pillock.
I dont join issues with ian ignoramus like u who cannot feel the power of the EPL.
The league is the strongest, richest and has a wider appeal than the Serie A.
Anyways, i dont expect u to understand . . . . . .some people are so difficult to adapt to changes.
Serie A sucks . . . . .It has lost its value and appeal after the recent match-fixing scandal.
Where's AC Milan on ur league table now? Nowhere to be found . . . . .
All they seem to do is to fight for 4th position in the league and concentrate fully on UEFA . . . .How does that make em good?

You are an anus.

Calcio is lovely and has always been plus has produced the best coaches and the best players and people that know dont need an EPL junkie to agree to it.

Calcio managers have produced new managers that have conqured Europe
and not some losers like Steve Bruce, Steve Mclaren and the likes

@Jackal,
Forget that talk about EPL superiority. The present UCL champion is from Italy, The present world cup winner is from Italy, The most likely ballon D'or and

world footballer of the year plays in the Serie A. So which past are you refering to? So tell us the last time England achieved this? so that we can know

that the EPL is supreme.

WHo cares if AC Milan is 200th in the Serie A as long as they come to Europe and whoop asses notably like yours home and away and regretably mine tongue tongue

The last UCL , They rode over Man Utd and liverpool which are the most successful EPL sides to win the seventh title the 5th in 20 years unlike once every 30 years tongue tongue.

So if you want to start any comparison as a Man Utd fan pick your size teams like benfica, Notthingham forest, FC Porto, Juventus e.t.c and other 2 times winners

or better still check teams that grace the finals once every 30 years grin tongue
Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by gabrielgb: 7:34am On Nov 05, 2007
Jackal what the hell is ur problem? what has milan being in the 8th position got to do with the superiority of calcio? hey as a matter of fact i dont need to reply you, dayo has done that. but still your league is limited to just 4 teams (liverpool, arsenal, chelsea and man u) everton could have played in the CL but they were not good enough. the fact is EPL is not competetive enough. Fiorentina and juve could make the CL numbers next season, in spain, villarel is riding high in spain, am sure same in germany and france. But i bet you know the 4 clubs coming to CL next season from EPL.
we have the best players, best managers young and old. the only thing you have going for you is your money and perhaps you f**king lousy press.

FORZA MILAN.

Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by Jackal(m): 5:28pm On Nov 05, 2007
@ Dayokanu,

Lemme break y'all zealots something proper.
Just like most teams in Europe have realised . . . .Its very difficult for any team to contest for 4 different competitons and win it.
If any English team concentrates fully on UEFA . . . . .they WILL win it, Liverpool did in 2005 without stress.
Teams like Chelsea, Arsenal and especially Man Utd are always expected to do well in the Premiership so its fucking difficult for em to win UEFA.

Besides, other leagues in Europe observe a 6-week winter break which Premiership teams dont enjoy.
EPL teams play as many as 12 games between dec-jan while Italian teams play ZILCH in that period.
By the time everyone resumes in february for the knock-out stages . . .fatigue sets in for English teams thus making em marginally weaker.
This is the major reasons why English clubs are weaker than their contemporaries in the latter stages of UEFA.
Man Utd. . . . Chelsea . . .and Liverpool have to comepete ferociously in the league and still have UEFA to worry about,
AC Milan is currently locked in the 13th postion . . .have nuthing to fight for domestically thus giving em the impetus to fight in Europe.
If u cannot grab this point . . . . .then all y'all SERIE A ass-lickers are morons . . . or better still, ninnies.

look man what's europe biz if you play 365 matches in a year? was that an excuse when liverpool won or when man u did te treble? jackal, you are just like the british press; always looking for flimsy excuse when things are down.
does ur excuse count for why england will never win anything? oops! they won even qualify.

guy shine ya eys and look deeply. EPL is just overrated.

Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by Jackal(m): 1:34am On Nov 06, 2007
@ gabriel the mongrel,

Anutha waste of bandwidth!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why are u this myopic?
Liverpool won the Champions league in 2005 but finished a staggering 37 points below CHELSEA(the league champions).
Mind u . . . . West Brom survived relegation with just 34 points . . . .so 37 points aint a joke.

What i am trying to say is . . . .Its very difficult to have a good performance in the domestic league and in Europe.
The task is so demanding and u need 3 fit squads to achieve that . . . .AC Milan finished 4th last season and won UEFA.
It means u need to sacrifice one competition to do better in the other.
Only a team as good as Man Utd could have achieved the TREBLE status in 1999 . . . .I dont think it can be achieved again.
English clubs get short-changed by the huge schedule of back to back footie while other European clubs enjoy holidays in december.
