obiekunie01:Muslim na minority for here o. Igala and Okun people are Christians 99 percent. Mostly Ebira people na them be musulimi for Kogi and we go soon convert all of them by the grace of God. The irony is that no Christian governor has ever ruled our beautiful state, but not to worry Melaye Dino will change that. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Malroux: Yahaya Bello and his successor don loot the money needed to fund a proper carnival. What I see up there is a VERY low budget attempt to copy the Calabar carnival and a bad photocopy of a good original. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kogi and international carnival in one sentence. That's an oxymoron. Which international clown does not take his life and brand seriously to go to or send teams to kogi for a carnival? Was it not this week an entire luxurious bus was kidnapped? They should be deceiving themselves. Tourism is not their thing, they should address their insecurity by their boys first, full stop |

obiekunie01: No! Kogi State is almost like Lagos state interms of religion distribution. It is shares boundaries with Edo, Enugu, Ondo, Anambra, Delta, Benue, Abuja, Nasarawa and Niger states. It is not a Muslim state. No sharia, extremism, no fanaticism but peaceful and liberal people. |

phineas: Una just dey display too much stark illiteracy. Is kidnapping not happening in Lagos, the entire southwest and all over Nigeria? It doesn't happen always in Kogi State. Many times, it is people from neighbouring states that pepertrate the act. |

ViceGovernor:So why do the Christians keep on voting for Moslem governor all the time and leaving their own? |

Buulshit! You people better fix your kidnapping boys. I had to ditch a juicy contract I'm supposed to carry out with a team after I heard about the gig kidnapping. 1 Like |

prophetfire:Good question...in also looking for who will answer it. The thing is the top men in Kogi politics who are Christians have never been interested in the governorship position.... it's mostly a civil servant state so I think that has programmed so many people to have no aspirations. They don't even bother challenging the muslims, very strange state this my state trying to understand it will get you admitted into a mental hospital. |

ObalendeCMS:Don't pass through kabba- illorin to lokoja. Pass through okene-itakpe back road, there's a mixture of security teams almost at every turn and hill there. That kabba- okebukun- lokoja axis is where those Fulani settlement is and there are lots of 50 calibre machine gun there with them in the forest, no police dey stay there and no police will ever enter that evil forest to rescue anybody, the guns with those Buhari brothers even the military doesn't have it. |

RealGandalf: This is denial on a whole new level,I can't believe the audacity.... Kogi is synonymous with kidnapping, people with means don't travel Abuja to Lagos by road because of primarily the KOGI axis, how does passengers from a whole luxurious bus get kidnapped with no State response. Even Ondo would have sent amotekun. Lagos would have sent out choppers.... The same Kogi dares to host a so called international carnival.... That's a joke and a scam.international indeed |

Re: Kogi International Carnival Flag-Off: Highlights And Pictures by DrWokili: 4:55pm On Dec 03 |
In my very humble opinion, I think the carnival is ill-timed and serves the flesh of the organisers and the top echelon in society. HOW WILL THE CARNIVAL PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE OF THE POOR KOGITES WHO GO TO BED ON EMPTY TOMMIES? HOW WILL IT HELP CREATE JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE JOBLESS YOUTH ROAMING THE STREETS? HOW WILL IT EMPOWER PARENTS TO TAKE THEIR WARDS BACK TO SCHOOL? It is like a husband whose children and wife are dying of hunger diverts the home feeding budget to sponsor a beer-drinking competition. Kogi, like other states in Nigeria, are in a mourning mood because neighbours are dying of hunger and preventable diseases. Just imagine if the carnival's budget were utilised to provide free or subsidised simple farming motorised implements and fertilisers to verified practising farmers in Kogi state. The impact of waste on the people is too costly in these austere times. Nigeria is in a dire strait which suggests the urgent rescue of the people from decimation should be a top priority to those in government, and they should invest every naira in programs that uplift the masses. I joyfully lack the wisdom to understand how the carnival will satisfy this objective. |
