Someone should please tell black American men to look beyond professional sports and go to school. With the advent of the internet, the world is becoming smaller. The more sport talents are noticed outside America, the narrower the window of opportunity to turn a sports pro. By the way, congratulations to Bronny for making history. He would play as long as his dad is in the NBA then go back to school. As far as reaching the ceiling of his dad, that's a dream that would never come true. Lebron would be wiser to send the boy back to school so that he can learn how to manage and grow the wealth that would be bequeathed to him. |
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:50am On Jun 28 |
greypencils: Lol. He doesn't need to reach the heights of his dad. No one can. Bronny is capable of being a decent role player in this league, and that's good enough. Not everyone would be stars. And to your 1st point, what's the % of black men in professional sports? Less than 0.1% (about 2,200 in the 4 major leagues out of over 22m black males in America). So trust me, sports is not the only thing black men know how to do. And how many years do they have to even play? 15 years? So by 35-37 they begin a new career. They still have their whole life in front of them. 1 Like |

I do hope LeNomad knows what he's signing up his boy for and I hope he's doing it for Bronny not for his own ego. Nothing wrong in being a nepo baby. Giannis is doing similar with Thanasis in Milwaukee But if it turns out like a lot of us suspect that he can't really play and is only there cos he's LeNomad's son. The amount of dragging and cooking will be brutal and the likes of which we've never seen Overall I wish him luck. He seems a good kid 1 Like 1 Share |

Omo, no player in NBA history has more media pull than LeBron James. This whole draft na so so LeBron everybody dey talk. When they talk JJ, it's LeBron. When they talk Bronny, it's LeBron. When they talk the Lakers, it's LeBron. That's exactly how it was during the NBA finals. 3 Likes |

Still wondering how GSW got only one pick in the draft and in the second round too? How did that happen? Edited: Just found out that GSW made a very stupid trade. In 2019 they gave up their 2024 first round pick alongside Iguodala to Memphis for a certain Julian Washburn who never played one game for them. He was thrown to the g-league as soon as he was gotten. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 2:42pm On Jun 29 |
I like Murray to the Pels. Now if they can just offload Ingram or McCollum they would be in business Knicks are trying to be a poor man's Boston. Let's see how it works And then Klay. Will he stay or will he leave GSW. Me personally thinks Klay needs a fresh start. Nothing for these Warriors again so why not join a contender team and see if you still got the juice |

Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 3:24pm On Jun 29 |
A40: The Warriors have mortgaged their future with some bad decisions and it would be worse if they offer Klay a new contract. Personally, I don’t think Klay can be a strong number 2 with a contender. I think he can be a core starting piece but he has declined so much, I doubt he can regain his groove, especially when you consider he turns 35 next year. The Murray to Pels trade is an a excellent trade. If they can keep CJ, he should come off the bench or they can trade him for good pieces. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:51pm On Jun 29 |
Roland17:I don't know that the Warriors still have a future. Every championship cycle has a beginning and end. A mutual parting should serve both parties best. Klay can be a #3 on a contender if you ask me. He's just at this stage inconsistent. His good is excellent but his floor is G-league level He needs to either be a contender or a veteran on a young up and coming team teaching them how to win. If Orlando throws him that bag I don't see why not |
Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 5:23pm On Jun 29 |
A40:I doubt Klay getting his groove on a new team. He is pretty old at this point having spent all his playing years at GSW. On a new team, like the grizzlies, it would be difficult to win respect, especially with these youngins. He would only go to such a team and melt into the shadows unless his ppg increases significantly or he is exceptionally lucky to meet humble teammates. Orlando like you said seems a good fit. Either that or a less ambitious club like Detroit Pistons or Hornets. |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 7:49pm On Jun 29 |
greypencils:He's sat for 2 seasons so that's two less years than the average 34 year old He's two years younger than Steph. When you say old. So makes more sense to go to a younger team Difficult to win respect ke? Who born the Maga to not respect a 4x Champion It will be a sacrilege for Klay to be at useless teams like Detroit or Charlotte. Klay's averages last season are almost identical to his numbers the years they were winning. I believe he will shut a lot of people up on a contender if he's motivated. |
Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 11:43pm On Jun 30 |
etidy: I knew the warriors was finished when they made an inexperienced mike dunlevay the GM. Poole was horrendous for the wizards this last season but the guy is just 25 years. He was clearly trending in the right direction with the warriors, averaging 12, 18.5 and then 20.5 points per game in his last three seasons with the warriors. Dunlevay trade Poole for a soon to be 40 years, injury prone Chris Paul while also giving the wizards a first round pick. Now the Chris Paul experiment has failed and they couldn't get anything done with his 30 million dollars expiring contract. You don't just salary dump a 24 yr old player who is averaging 20+ points per game. No matter how badly he's playing, there will be one sucker somewhere who will give you more than Chris Paul. 1 Like |

Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 12:08am On Jul 01 |
etidy:When I said we should have kept Poole someone thought I was crazy. Poole is a kid but thrive under good leadership but we can thank Draymond for making sure that didn't happen. Now we paid Draymond to average single digits and technicals and Klaus expects to be paid as well. We the fans are sick and tired of the front office and everyone not named Steph, Podz, Kuminga and TJD. They all can geddifok. 2 Likes |
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 3:58am On Jul 01 |
SmooshCHN: You say Poole trives under good leadership, but the rumors of what caused the fight was that he had an attitude of 'I am a champion and paid, so nothing can touch me'. If he was as teachable as you say they would have dumped Draymond for him. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:16am On Jul 01 |
CP3 to Spurs has to be the best trade this far. This is exactly what the Spurs need now to help Wemby. A traditional PG who can help Wemby and the team in spacing and better positioning for higher percentage buckets. He can also score and presents that veteran presence and maturity in the dressing room. |
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:32am On Jul 01 |
SmooshCHN: Lol. The ship is sinking. Can't you see it? Dynasties don't last forever. You see how the Bulls have been post MJ, that's what the Warriors would look like post Curry. Except you miraculously draft a Wemby some time in 2035 |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 7:03am On Jul 01 |
A40:He wanted to get a fat check from the Warriors but is ready to take a pay cut for other teams. He can go. Seems like Steph and the Warriors can afford to waste the next 3yrs cos why is Steph so quiet? That team has no vision for real. 1 Like |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 7:33am On Jul 01 |
Khanben:That closing statement has to be a joke. First off, Draymond had to be paid. Ten years with the team and four championships? You have to pay the guy besides he was only getting 25m/yr, even if he's (a liability) not as effective on the court anymore. Now, Poole isn't the first 25-year-old with an attitude. That championship season was a testament to what he could do. Don't forget he balled out that season especially when Steph and Klay were down. But getting punched by the most vocal guy on the team? That's not how you get the best out of anyone. Not in any organisation. It just showed how bad the Warriors' leadership was and still is. There were literally no consequences for Draymond, and they let his toxic behavior slide for too long. Poole had to go; it was inevitable and nobody should have to deal with that. 1 Like |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 7:55am On Jul 01 |
steady986:Draymond singlehandedly tore the team apart with his loud mouth after KD helped us with the championship. Did the front office do anything about Draymond's words and action towards KD? No, because their response was a joke. We could have gone for a three peat but life happened and KD left. That was when the ship started to sink but we had Steph, Poole and GP2 (Klay and Draymond contributed the little they can) and 2022 happened. We still have Steph balling out but Mike Dunleavy is happening and that's why I'm mad. Meanwhile, Steph seems fine with the front office wasting his time. 1 Like

Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 9:38am On Jul 01 |
SmooshCHN:But a lot of times isn't that the principle? When you want to spite someone this is usually what you do Everything the Warriors are doing is showing there's no plan. From the Poole trade, now you have no Poole, no CP3. Klay is gone and there's really no trade worth pursuing. If the Warriors GM is smart he will not fool himself thinking this team still has any juice left. Steph too should be able to read the tea leaves and request a trade for the Warriors to contend in the future. Getting that 2022 chip was the last hurrah and last kick of a dying horse. Thinking otherwise is just Steph wasting the final years of his prime and career |
Re: The NBA Begins by larride(m): 10:15am On Jul 01 |
Roland17: Warriors just traded valuable picks away for CP3. Trade that shouldn't have happened. |
