zPixel:

This was a project i worked on last year for the uba branch at silverbird plaza (abuja). The place should be complete now i think.

Done in max & vray.

Bros u r good, how long did this take?. I tried my hands once wit 3d max thought it was too complex so I use accurender, what do u think

Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by zPixel(m): 10:59am On Mar 05, 2010
@uchenageme
the initial setup took 1 day. but ofcourse the client will always make changes.

3ds max is not complex, it only looks complex because of the many buttons on the interface. if you really want to do realistic stuff you should pick up max.

Luv the modelling but the render is too bright.

Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by yemo90(m): 4:35pm On Mar 16, 2010
@nd.gfx
tanx my broda, I luv compliments.
Its actually a photo-real render based on an institute here in Oshodi, I tried to re-create the actual location daylight settings as best i could.
what would u suggest I do to make it better?
Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by obinna5000(m): 5:06pm On Mar 16, 2010
@zPixel
I love that interior design. cool

@yemo90
The building is cool but I feel the colours are too plain. And more textures to the colours to have a more realistic feel.
Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by zPixel(m): 5:28pm On Mar 16, 2010
@obinna5000
Thanks.
@yemo90
The modelling is nice, but i think the lighting/shading needs some attention.

Maybe you should reduce the amount of light bouncing around and also try adding texture to the models like grass, road texture and bump maps might help too.
Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by yemo90(m): 5:30pm On Mar 16, 2010
@obinna5k
more textures like dirt maps?

Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by voldemort(m): 7:11am On Mar 18, 2010
Done using modified tutorial file, in 3ds max 2009. Render engine - Mental Ray - the HDRI background environment and scene reflections/complexity caused repeated memory issues.
Finally finished rendering this pass on Win7 64bit, a quad-core proc. and 8Gb RAM. Graphics card - PNY 9800GT 512Mb

Re: 2d/3d Art Gallery by voldemort(m): 7:25am On Mar 18, 2010
Testing out a laptop capability, using the latest Blender 2.5 Alpha 32bit release and a BMW model by Mike Pan.
Graphics card = Geoforce 230M with 1Gb discrete RAM

Why don't you post source code if it's not so private or company project. So it can be useful to others as well because there are just pictures to download which is not so useful but if you post source than one can learn something from it.

There is no way I can post source code as I'm yet to start coding. I'm still working on the interface. You'll learnsomething if you follow my progress.

Cheers!
