Good day All Please kindly advise on what best step to take on this matter. I woke up to the alert that a huge sum was deposited into my account and several other debits of the money happened shortly after. This also happened some months ago which I went to the bank to report and asked them not to use my account for whatever transaction I don't understand. They claimed it was a mistake. Today again similar thing happened and I want to know the best steps I could take to handle this . I have all the evidence of credit and debits. |

faithest1: Send an official mail to your bank expressing your displeasure at their actions. Make sure you remind them in the mail that it happened before and they told you it was a mistake and it is happening again and that you are not comfortable with it. Make sure you copy that mail to CBN and EFCC. That will be your own defence if anything. If they mistakenly posted money on your account why wouldn't they debit same as it entered. What the rational of them debiting it gradually. Make person no go use your account commit any fraud or crime ooo. 7 Likes |
Thanks much. I have decided to send email in line with your comment. Since I have gone there to report the first time and it seems it didn't work since it's still repeated now. I think sending an email for escalation will be better. Thank you 2 Likes |
Thank you. I will take this as an additional step to report. Though I do not think kidnappers are the ones in this context because even if they deposited in my account they won't have the authorisation to debit it by themselves |

Rate for 364days tenure dropped for the 3rd or 4th consecutive auction I guess while 91 and 182 remained unchanged. Subscription for 364days is massive though |

RayRay06677: Good morning Nairalanders! Please what is the essence of having CSCS, CHN, Member code or Tax ID to invest in Commercial paper? This was part information requested for in the subscription form but I don't have it. Is there any consequence at maturity? Pardon my ignorance it is my first time buying CP, I only invest in Mutual funds and FD. Guys, I need your clarification on this! I thought you only need CSCS account when it comes to bond and shares . |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by enque(f): 9:58am On Feb 06 |
I do CPs via meristem, and I have never been asked for all that. The only time I needed a CSCS number was when I did FG Bonds. Maybe someone who knows can explain better. digitalinvestor: 1 Like |

digitalinvestor: The regulation mandates the deduction of taxes directly from payments such as salaries, rent, professional fees, and dividends, placing the responsibility on businesses, employers, and other payers to withhold taxes at the point of payment. https://thenationonlineng.net/firs-begins-implementation-of-withholding-tax-system/ |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by enque(f): 12:16pm On Feb 06 |
temi4fash:. Nope! I don't even know where their physical office is. Although I know a staff that works there sha, so she basically directs me when I wanna do anything. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by digitalinvestor(m): 1:04pm On Feb 06 |
Same here! I did mine through Meristem, and in the form, the column before the bank details specifically asks for that. I didn't bother myself because I didn't have until one of the staff who forwarded the form to me sent me an email specific to CSCS, which I didn't even realise until much later when the allocation notice was sent with payment instructions, and I went through the email thread. enque: |
