Yes they share the same travel database now - have done so for couple of years now.
For example, this last weekend I went across the border to the US. When leaving canada, you do not encounter any canadian authority, just US. When coming back, you do not encounter any US authority, just Canadian.
But they both knew when we left and when we came back in.

Hi,

1. Yes, all major embassies share information/results, all they require is your Passport number to get it.

2. Refusal from US embassy shall not affect your case with Canadian embassy (still VO would love to know the reason behind your refusal)...

Well these are some of the answers i found while researching about people in Similar cases. u jst have to apply to canada with a strong profile and leave all into God hand's i guess.

Actually the IMM 1294 has been changed recently since august 2012 with the same content.
However before that it says have you ever been refused admission,or oredered to leave canada or other country. There is no refused visa mentioned in the old version of form IMM 1294

so i guess @shavel never came across that ..

THE EMBASSY ASK US TO PAY ONE YR TUITION FEE WHICH WE HAVE JUST TRANSFERED THRU GTBANK THIS MORNING. PLS HOW DO WE PROVE TO THE EMBASSY THAT WE HAVE DONE THE PAYMENT IS IT BY SUBMITTING THE RECEIPT FROM THE SCH OR BY SHOWING THEM THE TRANSFER BANK SLIP?

By submitting the receipt from the school. Write the school to demand for it.

We need a candid conclusion on this issue; this ticket issue is being bothering my mind for a while now.

Round trip( 2 ways ticket) - can the return ticket be amended whenever the person is ready to leave Canada back to Nigeria, or you still have to re-booke another one ?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by osawaruden: 10:18am On Nov 06, 2012
Regarding the ticket issues, as a student, u don't need a return ticket. Alot of people buy 2 way ticket because its cheaper. One way is more expensive. 2 way ticket is compulsory for students and tourist. Your flight ticket is only valid for a year. Immigrations don't bother students like other visa holders. Thanks pals
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by osawaruden: 10:19am On Nov 06, 2012
2 way ticket is compulsory for tourist and visitors not students

Besides, the last time I checked 1way ticket is more expensive than 2way. So who wants to blow a fuse over this. Please lets continue with our productive intelligence sharing.

Dt culd be because of d stamping of ur passport.

Plz this info is very important to me. A very close friend of mine was denied US visa 4 to 5 times.
The hussy is a student in US. She has visited d guy more than once, then she overstayed.
After dt, US has refused to give her visa. She is working and well paid, sal shld be close to 6m per year. She want to join her hussy bt I can't say if her hussy's papers are still valid.
Now she wants to study in Canny so dt she can be visiting hussy at will.plans to get a PR in canny and enter US at will. She has more than enough funds for d studies. She get am, hussy get am too - runs a big importatn business in naija.
What do u think? We have been on this bt it seems am advising her amiss. Does canny students now need us visa to enta US?

Please chat me up on bbm if u r nt free to post here due to one or two things

What of permanent residents, do they require visas to visit US?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by osawaruden: 1:26pm On Nov 06, 2012
2 way tickets got 1 year validity. As a student, as so long ur duration of studies is more than 6 months, u are to determine if u are to get one way or 2 it depends on you. I bought two way ticket last year September cos its cheaper compare to one way. Call lufthansa or KLM. Thanks
