Yeah. 19,500 (Bank Draft) for CDHC and approximately 5000 for VAC (service charge).

VAC opens between 8am - 3pm. Thus, 9am is neither too late not too early

It seems there is a GTBank teller at VAC where you would pay their service charge but I would advise you get the Bank draft elsewhere (GTBank, UBA, Diamond, Standard Chartered, CitiBank, etc)..

NB: Bank Draft to ''Deputy High Commision of Canada'' , must be payable in Lagos with your passport number at the back of the Bank draft...

1:As is said, VAC is approximately N5000 (4,125 actually). 19500 is the Visa fee, which you will pay however you choose to submit.
2:You will be expected to pay the N4,125 at VAC, but will have to submit the N19500 bank draft issued ifo "DEPUTY HIGH COMMISSION OF CANADA" and submit with your other documents
3:9am is not too late..VAC opens between 9am - 3pm monday to friday, and you can submit any time during that time frame.

Different name shouldnt be a problem. You just need to satisfy there curiosity as to how he is your uncle, and why he wanna make that kinda investment in you. A well written elaborate letter would do, establishing the relationship (with family tree, pictures if possible), and explaining the relationship and the likes..any thing to spice up the soap.. wink

1) His Financial Statement must be reasonable ( Huge Balance, Good Cash flow + good source of income)

2) You have to show proof of relationship with your MUM (Birth certificate / Marriage Certificates, Pictures etc)

3) He should state clearly in his letter why he wants to sponsor you.

4) His number of dependents would also be taken into consideration....

5) you can also submit some documents that show that he had sponsored you in d past (School fees receipts)..

Thanks bro! But I always get confused when applying for admission to any university, and these re the reasons:
1) The bank account to pay the acceptance
2) Whether the school need proff of English (cos I was told dat Nigerians don't need it cos we re english speaking country)
3) Referees (cos I don't know any proffessor that's gonna give me any reference letter, except a lecturer)
All these factors keep on confusing me and I don't really know what to do. Pls if anyone have passed through this and succeeded, please help me by telling me what to do and how to do it cos am getting really confused here.
Thanks everyone! Reply pls

Was already tired of tracking and the whole canada issue in the first place,I prayed to God if it was his will that I travel to Canada, tinz should work out for my good,If I was asked to pay my tuition fee,I would have had to sell my only house cos no one was willing to help,my sponsor only helped with his acc statememt. Just checked my status and was denied.....it hurts a little mainly due to the time I wasted waiting on them since september, but no regrets.

Part A of Q2 is asking u to state wat u stand to gain from ur proposed course. Tell them d impacts ur proposed course wil hav on ur career/future. 3 or 4 points are ok. Q5 is somhow related to Q2 but here u hav to proof to d VO that its better for u to study ur proposed course outside Niaja. Points like d level of acceptability, level of educational standard, d cultural impacts (Canada is known 4 its rich and diverse culture)etc . Just say good things abt education in Canada but don't bastardize niaja education oh! if u do it shows u don't lik niaja dat much & may not return to naija. In all b concise! But if d space is not enof, print additional page & attach. Gudluck ma broda

Okay. Thanks dear! About changing to ones dream research-based from non-research-based that got one admitted, visa and entry,do u know if the change can be done without doing a semester? I doubt what he will be doing before the change which has to be processed.I just wanna know if you know anything officially.

I will equally use them for my Australian route, it is N38,500 for VAC and 580AUD for the Embassy which is in Pretoria. Thanks so much, bro!

Yes, he can change to his Dream course when he gets to Canada..as long as the course is at the same level (Postgraduate- Postgraduate or Undergraduate to Postgraduate..but not Postgraduate to Undergraduate).....

www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=487&t=15

He can also get admitted without a supervisor if his CGPA is high and his application is competitive enough (Good Statement of Purpose, Good Recommendation from Professors)...I have a friend who just got admitted to UofS research based course without a supervisor....

In all, I advise him to apply to 2 or 3 universities...Course based and research based

Some schools e.g. UofT requires securing a supervisor before admission can be granted. I suspect ferdimako's brother wants to study a research based MS that has a similar requirement.

I do agree with your advice that he apply to both course based and research based schools.

You mean Work Permit?...
You need to visit VAC and CDHC respectively to enquire abt ur application....
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by earthgreeners(m): 4:51pm On Feb 24, 2013
1) You can use your GTBank naira master card or any other acceptable Credit or debit card....

2) Most canadian school waive Nigerian student from english language proficiency test.

3) You can submit reference from other lecturers but make sure atleast one is a Professor (it adds weight to your application)...some schools would require you to provide email address of these referees. In this case, you don't need to submit hardcopy of reference letter..They wld contact them via email to provide an evaluation on your ability to undertake graduate studies...
you can handle that on ya own....*winks*
