winwin123: @All: I finally received my package and the reasons for refusal are indicated below:
a- You have not satified me that you have adequate funds available to you to pay for your tuitions and living expenses while in Canada and to return to your country of residence.
b- You have not satisfied me that you will lave Canada by the end of the period authorized for your stay.
With the information i have gathered here, it will only be better next time.

Eyaa... Sorry about that. I know exactly how you feel cause have been refused twice myself. I still haven't given up and one day we shall score our goals. Let me just ask from your own view, where did you think you got it wrong? Were you sponsored? Have u paid tuition? What was ur closing balance? I need to know cause am planning to submit august ending against January start date not even sure if that won't be too late.
Thanks my man.

insight: Hello house,I submitted my application to VAC on June 18. For reasons beyond me, i couldn't submit earlier. My school program starts Sept. 4 (orientation:Aug 27) and i have paid the mandatory tuition deposit. I'm yet to hear anything and i keep tracking via VAC daily.I've been very hopeful to get medical call. I wouldn't know the time frame to do medicals and get TRV considering my school start date.I need a candid advice on what to do please.
Ur app got to CDHC <3mths from ur start date, usually dey return d app, but sometimes they keep it if u have a January start date (despite being >6mths away). One cannot also rule out d horrible fact that dey may not have even touched ur app.........all u can do is prayerful waiting.......unless something else comes up.....
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 10:07am On Jul 30, 2012
@slamdunk99 how far with your ticket? Have you purchased anyone?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by joeburster: 10:34am On Jul 30, 2012
Wow! This thread has really gone far, big thanks to d likes of newacca n some others who frequently check in to render assistance, just keep remaining positive newacca, d prayers offered here for u will def see u tru.
@creamygirl, there's nothing u'll submit to cdhc dt will satisfy them of one's coming back here after studies, many will talk about marriage, landed properties, job n so on but i've seen cases of pple submiting loads of those docs n stil get refused wit 'returning back' as part of d reason, n there are also cases of pple not employed, married n no landed properties included esp those going for undergrad prog n they got dr visas. Like many will say, cases are considered individually, even if someone posts all d doc he/she used in securing a visa, n someone else submits exactly d same, it may not work out, cos d 2 may not be of d same age, may not have d same academic standing, may have diff living expense, also may not have d same continuity in educational pursuit n so on.
Finally i'm yet to see a case of one denied solely on d grounds of not returning back, cos most times it usually 'funds' n maybe 'bona fide' being ticked wit 'returning back'. So i feel pple should worry less of ties n more on d more on d others

Please, i need advice on which one would be beta for me to follow. I love america cuture and i was denial F1 visa few days ago. What should I do now? Am going for undergraduate study in civil engineering in both country.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 10:54am On Jul 30, 2012
@zone 2 zone if your sponsor is your mum/dad I'll advice canada but if its an uncle / aunty you have a better chance of getting us visa(if you can tidy up what made them refuse you the first time) from what I've been seeing on both us and canada threads.

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by hayek: 3:59pm On Jul 30, 2012
HELLO HOUSE: I have some info for you. I was at the CDHC this morning and it was full of people (about 50) who came for different reasons. I got to understand that applications were dumped and that now they are treated those who submitted in April. If you submitted in April or earlier than that you need to head to CDHC office. Right now they are dealing with May applications. I also understand that there was a guy in CDHC who made this backlog of applications to happen. He was keen on seeing all applications even those treated by his colleagues. At a point, his colleagues had to abandon the job for him and hence the slow processing of applications and delays. Again I understand that the officer had been transfered back to another post. So if you had submitted applications for whatever categories(student, visit, worker etc) since January-April and you have not heard back, I strongly encourage you to go there and ask questions. I got in my application for student permit on May 17 and got to CDHC on May 18th. I am going in for graduate program. To be honest these guys are short-staff. If you got to the visa section you wont see more human activities there.

I needed my daugther's birth certificate and filled in their form today that I am not withdrawing application but would like to request for her birth certificate as she would like to apply for her US passport as she cant do so without the original. We all submitted and we put in all details we were later told to wait and the security later told us that they said they would get back to us through the phone number we provided in the form we filled in today at CDHC. It was messy things and people were so furious. Lets continue to share info on this forum and when I heard back I would let you know.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 4:08pm On Jul 30, 2012
@hayek. To be honest I don't get how those guys work, why do they even spend weeks to process an app in the first place, the uk also does verification but still makes a decision in 15 or so working days. I'm not even sure its their verification that causes delays at times but rather complacency.

Let's keep praying

I submitted April 28th and I have not heard from dem. Do you think I go over to the embassy office. And if I do what do I tell them.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by anyijoe: 4:37pm On Jul 30, 2012
@sir p...I submitted on 17 june and it got to CDHC on the 18 june...and am suppose to start on sept 4. And my uncle sort of is sponsoring me!..but I didn't show any ties of any such cos he was my grammy's sister's last son and my dad saw him through sch! But his now a millionaire...and wanted to see me through the advance diploma I appiled for @ centennial college...am a graduate anyway but centennial college denied me of doing post graduate with them reason was because they are using "WHED"world higher education database to check all the accreditted sch around the world and it happens that my sch here in nigeria was not there!...but they gave me a advanced diploma...on business administration with duration of 3yrs. Dat was the same course I read in sch anyway. So everything was fully stated to the CDHC.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 4:46pm On Jul 30, 2012

If you read my threat carefully, I said those who submit from January-April and have not heard back should quickly approach the CDHC. From what I understand when I was there, April applications have been done and they are working on May now. Yes you need to head to CDHC and ask questions. They are just not treating applications the way they should. Some are treated and dumped somewhere. You need to approach them.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 5:03pm On Jul 30, 2012
@hayek I don't think applications are treated based on month of submission, if you look through this thread you'll know they're not treated that way. We've seen cases where Mr A submits february 12 for instance Mr B submits March 12 and Mr B gets medical call first week april and mr A has to wait months to get response.
Hope you understand what I'm saying

I quite understand what you are saying. But what I am stressing is that if your application has spent endless days there, you would need to ask them questions regarding your status. VFS has nothing to do with this and they just handle application shipment. My brother April till now is a long time and if you dont hear till now pls approach them. Again applications are by different officers and some applicants might be lucky to be called early but generally 90% of applications would have to follow the queue procedures.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 5:17pm On Jul 30, 2012
90perc is quite high, I think this year the general trend was people sponsored by parents get the medical call quickly compared with people sponsored by relatives. Probably less checks are done on people sponsored by parents..I submitted June.
Thanks for the info, we'll all get there.
Cheers

Well, many self sponsored too get medical call up soon. what I am saying is for those not getting response shortly for medicals, it means they are made follow the queuing process. Look at me I am a self sponsor and I have a valid Canadian Visa which expires in May 2013. I have been to canada 4-5 times in the last 6 years. Would you say I am not qualified or not due for acelerated processing of application? I met many people today who have been to canada up to 7 times and their passports were held hostage having spent over 50 working days. Ordinarily you would say these people would be given acelerated processing of their applications but sadly they are not and their applications need to follow the queue thing.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 6:28pm On Jul 30, 2012
@hayek Well what can we say, you know visiting a country 7 times and then applying for study visa could seem suspicious. They could feel you have something you're doing there and u wanna use study visa as opportunity to relocate perm. One doesn't know how this people (VOs) think

Oh, I failed to elaborate. Those whom I said had visited canada upto 7 times were also applying for visitor under the same category and their applications were all held up. But the fact that you have visited a country before and you apply for student permit brigthens your chances than someone who hasnt. You have demostrated that you have a home which you are keen on abandoning and you wont become a public charge. In a nutshell, you have demostrated that you have ties and you would return here.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 7:02pm On Jul 30, 2012
@hayek Note visiting various countries (uk, us, schengen) serves as more of a tie than visiting one country 7 times .. they might suspect the person is even working there depending on how frequent the visits are

These are people who have travelled widely and inthe last 10 years they have at various times visited canada. Look at me, I have visited several schengen, UK and US many times that demostrate ties. And what I am saying is that these people ought to be given accelerated processing of their applications but unfortunately they are not. That means queuing process also applied to them.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by SirP1: 7:12pm On Jul 30, 2012
@hayek i understand you but dont forget that there are several people with travel history so if they were to even accelerate processing for such people there will be a lot of people to deal with again wink infact majority of people on here myself inclusive have travel experience .

Well I have not gone to CDHC to inquire but I doubt strongly if applications can be treated and then dumped somewhere. One thing I know normally slows down the process is the verification aspect of the job. And trust your fellow Nigerians they give them enough of that. Also incomplete documentation can create delays. I would prefer if document are thrown out if they are not properly filled or if the complete document is not submitted but canada embassy tend to help applicants sometimes by Calling them and stuffs like that. I guess they should copy the uk pattern
