Leopantro: cool, I found a partial solution, I linked the desired brightness level to my proximity sensor. when ever I close the proximity sensor, screen goes as bright. This app is awesome. |

Leopantro: Here are a few examples to start withMy phone already does these Adds a media oriented homescreen when you plug in a headset
This is funny though. I have no hope of paying the debts. Why worry |

Dikachiii: Good afternoon guys, please my S2 takes forever to charge both on pc and wall charger. Like 12 hours+ and I haven't even loaded the JB I downloaded cos I've not been able to charge up to 80% which is a prerequisite. Guys, please what might be wrong? Your cord is most probably the cause. Happened to me last month. Battery level will be dropping even while charging 1 Like |

Dikachiii:Just go to a good phone accessory shop. Where do u base? You could also buy the blackberry usb that comes with a three pinned charger head. And it charges extremely fast. Good thing is it is not more than 700 naira |

ciphoenix: that's the thing, you don't need to download anything extra. your phone has all the capabilities, just to organise the features together. here is the perfect example of the full use of tasker. I copied it from lifehacker website Almost everything tasker for me is via speech, since I've always liked the idea of AI agents that you can converse with. And since most of what it does is organise me, I'm using the SVOX "Oliver" voice, so I can pretend it's my butler So: I have four levels of verbosity for the speech - full (when I'm at home, in the car or have headphones in), most (any place I have wifi, so usually a friends house or similar), some (anything else), or none (sleep, calendar entries with "silent" in the description). Pulls down my next calendar entry, and warns me ahead of time (default 60 minutes, but can be changed by a delay=X in the description) every 15 minutes until the event. To make it more natural, rather than just saying the exact minutes, it uses vaguer terms: a couple of hours, this afternoon, tomorrow, a quarter of an hour, etc. Announces every caller ("X wishes to speak with you, sir" and text ("X says ...." - Texts only in full verbosity, phone calls only in "mostly" verbosity. On shake, listens for a set of voice commands (read out schedule, start music, set to a specific verbosity level), confirms ("Of course, sir" or variations) and does it. One of the commands opens a Scene that lets me set reminders - they're based on either an active profile or a recently active profile, with an optional time delay. For example, I can put "Home" in the active profile box, set a delay of five minutes to let me take my shoes off, and a message of "phone Alex". Then, five minutes after I get in, the phone helpfully tells me, "Remember to phone Alex, sir." "Welcome home, sir" when it detects my home network. When losing my Work's WiFi after 5:30pm, will then assume I'm going to be on the train, and announce, "We have reached your destination, sir" when I get close to my stop (using cell near). Uses time to remind me to get to sleep so I don't stay up all night on the computer - "May I suggest retiring for the evening, sir?" Uses time, powered state and consistent darkness levels to wish me "Good night, sir" and go into sleep mode. When in sleep mode, the next appointment in my calander, instead of being announced with the time left, will be announced with a repeating, "Good morning, sir, it is time for ...", starting at volume 0 and repeating one volume higher until I unplug the phone. —— Other non-vocal things include a learning Wi-Fi auto-on (adds each cell tower seen to a variable while connected to WiFi, and turns on WiFi via a cell near check on the value of that variable), a cycling random quote as a screen widget pulled fro ma text file, and a text/missed call Zoom widget that replies/calls back on tap |

a better example I've got something quite different: I'm using tasker to turn my tablet into a motion sensor for our home automation system. The tablet is a wall mounted control panel for my house. It can lock doors, turn on lights, control the HVAC, arm the alarm, etc. With the help of Motion Sensor (play store link), Tasker enhances the functionality of the control panel by using the front facing camera for various functions. I just got this working last night but so far, I've got a few features operating smoothly: I just got this working last night, so there are a few small bugs, but so far it's brilliantly! Tasker rocks! 5/02/13 3:45pm 4 1 L Tasker automatically turns the screen on once you walk by, which is handy if you have your hands full. Based on the time of day, the tablet can wake up and display the most commonly used apps (i.e. arm alarm screen in the morning, turn on media center in the evening, etc). The tablet is mounted in an area where my other motion sensors (tied into the alarm and home automation system) can't reach. This means I can now use it to send home automation triggers or as an auxillary motion sensor for our alarm system. |

Guys Please help, I was trying to flash stock JB on my s2 downloaded the right files. Started flashing but odin was stuck in setup connection.I did a quick google and was told to pull battery and go back into Download mode. Now my phone is firmware upgrade encountered an issue .. please what should I do? |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by BlackBaron: 9:03pm On Aug 22, 2013 |
I think that Tasker thingy would be such a battery drain, it'll be better if you used NFC enabled phones with NFC tags. Of course, there's a few trade offs here and there in functionality but then its almost just as good as the Tasker. In other news especially for pirates, here is a story on the Verge I just came across; How can 50,000 people illegally download an app that was only legitimately bought by 144 people. |
