for all android users, try this out;

goto Setting > about phone. now keep tapping the android version and tell me what you see.

if you are even lucky, keep tapping what pops up.

It only states what system your phone runs on.
If you own an android phone and not know what your device is running KK, JB, ICS, froyo etc etc, then you are on a long tin.

Slovakian security firm, ESET, has
shockingly revealed the existence
of a new Android malware that
goes against the tradition of usual
malware and multiplies via SMS
text messages. Android malware
have been known to spread via
email attachments, detachable
media or through infected
websites, until now. Android/
Samsapo.A looks set to change the
way how we look at malwares and
their scope in the days to come.
The Android malware has been
discovered affecting Russian
speaking users by sending texts in
Russian language as of now.
According to ESET, the malware
sends a text message (in Russian
that is) that translates to "Is this
your photo?" along with a link to a
malicious APK package. Recipients
are tricked into clicking on the link
since the text message seems to
be from a known contact. Once
clicked, the malware is
downloaded and installed on to
their phones.
After installation the malware runs
as a system utility (package name:
com.android.tools.system v1.0)
having no user interface or icon in
the app-drawer. It can readily
download additional files from its
servers and is able to upload
user's personal data to a remote
server. In addition, it registers the
victim's phone number into a
premium-rate service. Primary
investigations reveal that the
domain it drops files to has been
registered just a few days ago, 24
April, 2014 to be precise. This
indicates that the malware was
created very recently.

It simply means your devices is not rooted. If you want root access, you will have to root.

Root checker is not infallible. I have root but root checker reports no root. All programs that require root have requested and received permission from supersu.

If you know you are already rooted, download another root checker to confirm.

If you are rooted and supersu/superuser is giving out permissions don't worry about root checker, the most important thing is that your apps have root access.
