2. As stated earlier Chlorophyll helps to stimulate the red blood cells, and improves oxygen circulation in the blood and around the body. It can only do this because it is a detoxifier. In people with sickle cell anemia, the abnormal hemoglobin (Hemoglobin-S) sticks together when it gives up its oxygen to the tissues. These clumps cause red blood cells to become stiff and shaped like a sickle. Chlorophyll helps do the job of hemoglobin when ingested. Promote the health of circulation, cleanse the body, increase the number of red blood cells and therefore increase oxygen throughout the body, in other words, Chlorophyll helps build hemoglobin. Understanding Hemoglobin vs Chlorophyll 1. Hemoglobin and Chlorophyll have similar structures. The main difference is that hemoglobin is built around iron (Fe), where as chlorophyll is built around magnesium, (Mg). The primary function for hemoglobin is to transport oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. Hemoglobin is composed of four elements- carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. All four are organized around iron . Chlorophyll is composed of the same elements, which are organized around magnesium . Chlorophyll helps to stimulate the red blood cells, and improves oxygen circulation in the blood and around the body. It aids in the rapid delivery of magnesium, a highly alkalizing effect that helps the blood to transport oxygen to the cells and tissues of the body. Liquid chlorophyll also possesses anti- oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties – it contains Vitamins A, C and E that are helpful in reducing inflammation. It destroys the free radicals that can harm the body’s immune system. Liquid chlorophyll protects and stimulates the body’s immune system, thus improving the body’s natural healing process. |

dominique: Interesting. as long as the blood cells contain adequate oxygen, crisis will be few and very far between. Didn't know chlorophyll supplements existed.yes, we do have chlorophyll supplments and it is good in boosting heamoglobin. Also the mixture of the leaves I mentioned above is an supplement of Chlorophyll (though in its raw form). |

One of the most significant benefits of all is its role in the growth of red blood cells. It enhances the work of hemoglobin in our blood and helps to replenish the amount of red blood cells in our body. By doing so, it aids in the growth and maintenance of tissues, and helps to heal wounds more effectively. It is an antiseptic, and inhibits the growth of bacteria in the body. |

Liquid chlorophyll is known to have a number of benefits for the human body. Liquid chlorophyll is easier to absorb in the blood stream than is chlorophyll in tablets. It works as a tonic, and neutralizes toxins in the blood, thus purifying it. |

The primary source of dietary chlorophyll is green leafy vegetables(example; Ugu[pumpkin leaves], Utazi, nchuanwu ). However, most of the chlorophyll in plants is lost during the cooking process, ultimately leaving a very little amount that is not enough to provide any significant health benefits. Therefore it is better to obtain chlorophyll from dietary supplements . These dietary supplements can be found either in the form of tablets or in the form of liquid. |

Chlorophyll is a natural substance that is responsible for the green color of plants and leaves. Chlorophyll absorbs the sun’s energy in order to allow plants to carry out photosynthesis. Chlorophyll is rich in magnesium, copper, iron, protein, vitamin A, potassium, sodium, calcium, vitamin E, lithium, phosphorus, zinc and a number of other essential nutrients. It is often said that chlorophyll in plants works like blood does in the human body. They may be similar in composition as well, except for the difference in the core nutrient – magnesium in chlorophyll, and iron in human blood. The findings of such similarities in chemical composition have confirmed that chlorophyll can have benefits in the human body. www.sicklecellevents.org |

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria, and some protistans use the energy from sunlight to produce sugar, which cellular respiration converts into ATP , the "fuel" used by all living things. The conversion of unusable sunlight energy into usable chemical energy, is associated with the actions of the green pigment chlorophyll . Most of the time, the photosynthetic process uses water and releases the oxygen that we absolutely must have to stay alive. www.estrellamountain.edu/faculty/farabee/BIOBK/biobookps.html |

Hi Warriors and lovers of Warriors. I am here again to discuss with you all. Anytime I create a new thread something always prompts it. Like so many warriors out there, I'll love to live my life freely without ever remembering that I am a warrior fighting every other day to stay healthy and happy. I have had the topic of this thread in mind for sometime but keep postponing it. |

n.oxide:I omitted malaria, because it is a disease on its own caused by a parasitic protozoans. The factors listed above are not the same as the causes of episodic crisis. That is why the topic states "Factors that trigger off Crisis", moreover the list is not exhaustive others can add more factors to the list. Also, I would appreciate those in the medical line to do justice to this thread. It feels as if none of the in-house doctors, nurses, lab scientists, pharmicists etc care about those living with SCD. Maybe, if this thread is about cancer or HIV then we would have had more comments from people in the medical field. |

^^^Lagusta, thank you for commenting on this thread. We need more people in the Medical profession to join in our discussions or threads. SCD is something that must concern all of us, be you AA, AS, SS, AC, SC, etc. It is not enough to tell us to be careful of herbal medicines and not provide an alternative in English medicines (My doctor friend is fond of giving me that warning). I will appreciate it a lot if Doctors and other medical personnel can join our discussions once in a while and tell us their experiences in handling cases that has to do with SCD. |

dominique: I've always wondered. How is SCD symptoms detected In babies? How do the parents know their babies are having a crisis when the poor babies can't express themselves?I guess if the parent(s) has a good knowledge of the SCD it is possible to look out for those symptoms that are ever present in crisis episodes. One of the obvious signs is painful episodes... the baby may be crying and at the same time being very restless. If the parent(s) has ruled out other physiological needs of the child. |

One of the types of hypoxia is Anemic hypoxia, which is set off by a low hemoglobin level and results in a reduced ability of the blood to carry oxygen that is breathed in, and hence, a diminished supply of oxygen available to the tissues. Causes of Anemic Hypoxia: Anemia of any cause – This can include iron deficiency anemia, pernicious anemia, and chemotherapy induced anemia . ~Hemorrhage ~Methemoglobinemia- also known as affinity hypoxia, is an abnormal hemoglobin that doesn't bind oxygen very well. ~Carbon monoxide poisoning - With Carbon monoxide poisoning, hemoglobin is unable to bind oxygen. Reference: www.lungcancer.about.com/od/ Respiratory-Symptoms/a/Hypoxia.htm |

Hypoxia literally means "low oxygen," but is defined as a deficiency in the amount of oxygen that reaches the tissues of the body. The lack of oxygen in tissues is also known as "oxygen starvation." If a complete lack of oxygen occurs in the tissues, it is termed anoxia. Hypoxia may affect the whole body (generalized hypoxia), or a specific organ or area of the body (tissue hypoxia). It can also be classified as acute or chronic, with acute meaning a rapid onset, and chronic meaning that hypoxia has been ongoing for some time. Mcbussy: I am AA, my gf is AA....there's no room for weakness in the bloodline. Life is about evolution...only the strong would survive.I don't know why I am replying you. But it's a mis-conception to think that AA is the strongest of all the Genotypes. Yes, life is all about evolution but AA is really not the fittest in this part of the world (Africa). Rather HbAS is the strongest of all the genotypes in Africa. Because it evolved as resistant to Malaria. Malaria attack is highly fatal in people who carries the Hb AA genotype. I didn't want to come back and comment on this thread, but for the "doubting Thomases amongst us". I don't care how many scams you have come across you life time but this one is definitely not one of them. Since Madam CC is involved in this, be rest assured that all money collected will be used for the intended purpose. You can visit this thread www.nairaland.com/560947/hearing-aid-international-clinic not many knew about this thread. But I was a beneficiary of one of the hearing aids. I did not leave my base in Abia.... up till this moment I have never set my eyes on my benefactor (Madam CC) I don't know if she is tall or short, I don't know if she is fair or dark, I did not even hear her voice, only email communication. My people, if you want to give then by all means give. But don't try to dampen other peoples spirit, because you don't know when God will decide to use someone you don't know to meet you at the point of your need. God Bless You All. 13 Likes |
