Hello guys, a friend was trying to book an appointment on CGI website but mistakenly click confirm in the process of proceeding to the next page of the form. This is what the CGI portal has been displaying for days now. He open another email and tried to create another profile but the system already recorded his data so he keep getting an error message. Please what should he do to solve this issue? Thanks in anticipation!

Thank you, boss. Thank you for your contribution. Much appreciated

mrprolifik:
To be honest with you the reason your friend gave for his visa denial might not be the only reason . But you stand a better chance of getting that visa if you are a permanent resident in your country of study plus having a source of income. You can put your company as sponsor but to me that still looks like self sponsorship.
Nobody here can really tell you how the interview will go. You will only know if you try.
Good luck.

Gurus in the house, urgent help needed asap!

Please i need a quick guide on these questions, please

I am an international student in Europe, im applying for a b1/b2 visa and i am filling my DS 160 form, Under the section on how do you plan to finance your trip to the United States, initially, i choose SELF sponsor because as a student here i cant claim that im working when im still on student status. Recently a friend was denied b1/b2 visa because he used SELF sponsor, the VO said he cant establish a strong means of financing his trip to the US being a student.

My question is, i have a business in Nigeria. can i use my company information as my sponsor while im here studying in Europe, will the VO recognize it? because i can see COMPANY/ORGANIZATION as part of the option listed in the sponsorship section. I have all my company CAC and the rest docs with me here to evidence my claim during my interview. i will appreciate everyone's contribution in this regard. Thank you in anticipation

Thank you so much, brother,

nelem:

I know this isn't directed at me:

1. for your ds160, i don't think you need to go with the old and new, the VO will work with the latest ds160 number you input in your profile on the CGI site (where you scheduled your interview). make sure the needed changes are on the new one. bear in mind you can only attend the interview with one ds160 form

2. I believe since you have a Schengen visa you can also state the countries you visited and if the VO asks why no stamps, you can tell her/her you travelled via bus hence you weren't stamped. Obviously, you Schengen visa will be visible for the VO to see.

Cheers

Can you ask your question here?

Ok, pls this is my question below

Hello gurus,

I make some changes to my DS160 form. my question is, during my interview, should i go with the old and new DS160 forms? Is it advisable to tell the visa officer about the updated DS160 form during my interview or i should just handle the new form and wait until im asked about the new update on my form? Also, i recently visited about 3 European countries but my passport was not stamped during my visit because i traveled by bus. Even when i traveled by air, the border security didn't stamp my passport, i asked him why he told me is because i have a Schengen valid visa. I have also included those travel histories in my DS160 application form. Please what's your view about this?

Thank you, guys

Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Abdoor44: 9:45pm On Nov 19, 2021
Again. thank you for your reply. But there's space for previous work experience, can i just add 1 previous work experience together with my business information. There's also where i am to put the monthly salary I get as the CEO. should i write the salary in Naira or USD value or click the box DOES not Apply

fkj950ax:

Remove previous work experience. Just current income sources you have. Business and any other.

There is a place for where are you staying in the US, use that for the host. You can verbally inform the VO you are sponsoring yourself amd your host is also willing to provide a place to stay at the interview.
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Abdoor44: 7:23pm On Nov 19, 2021
Boss, thank you for your reply. Please under where can i include that im a student and still a business owner. I had also included my previous job experiences in the box, i only have two spaces provided in the DS-160 form to do that. Can i remove one of my previous job experiences and add my business information back home. Also, When filling my DS-160 form, there is nowhere to include additional information about my host. I Intend to state there that they will take care of my accommodation. Please what do you advise me to do here please. Thank you

fkj950ax:

Trainings and conferences are covered with B1/B2. Non-degree awarding programs.
I don't think there is any place for insurance in your visa application. Maybe your flight or organisers end, but I don't recall the embassy requiring insurance.
You can list being an international student and business owner in your DS-160.
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Abdoor44: 3:35pm On Nov 19, 2021
It's academic training and conference, The host is an institution. Im just asking if the insurance is needed or not in my documentation for the visa since i will be spending like one month. I will also appreciate any important information that could enhance my visa application.

Also, as an international student who has a business back home and still getting income from the business while studying abroad. Can i include the business in DS 160 as my primary occupation or use student as my primary occupation? I am traveling on self-sponsorship but my accommodation, food, and local expense will be covered by the host institution, i will only pay for my return ticket.

Thank you in anticipation!

fkj950ax:

Clarify what you mean by academic training
Why are you trying to get insurance?
Is the host the academic/conference organizers or your acquaintance?

Hello, gurus in the house, please i would like to ask some questions;

For someone who is going to attend a month of academic training together with the conference on a B1/B2 visit visa, is it compulsory or advisable that the host includes a letter to show the embassy that my insurance is covered during my stay? Although they will cover my accommodation and local transport. Please i will appreciate anyone who can assist with other necessary information that will enhance my visa interview.

Thank you in anticipation!

Wife: Good morning.
VO: Good morning. Are you family?
Wife: Yes.
VO: What is your relationship with each other?
Wife: This is my husband, and my daughter.
VO. OK, Nice. How long have you been married?
Wife: 12 years
VO: 4 years?
Me: 12 years.
VO. OK. 12.....Then type for a while.
VO: (While he's looking at his screen), Have you been to the US before?
Wife: Yes, 4 times and 3 times with daughter.
VO: When was the last time you traveled to the US?
Wife: 2018.
VO: What were you doing in the US the last time you traveled?
Wife: it was during Xmas and New year holidays so my daughter and I traveled to several states on road trips and also to Disney.
VO: Facing me....... Have you applied for the US visa lottery before?
Me: No...( Was shocked)
VO: OK... typing...then paused... Asked me again. Are you sure you didn't?
Me: I can't remember...Not sure.
VO: OK... it's sometimes in 2010. Maybe you can remember.
Me: umm...I think Yes, (Wife frowned at me) and then I quickly said I really can't remember.
VO: smiling...it's OK if you've applied for the US visa lottery, it is legal to apply, I just want to be sure what to edit on your application.
Me: Confused...
VO: What do you do?
Me: I'm an entrepreneur, I own a retail company into sales of EMS equipment, I also have an event business and transportation business.
VO: Facing both of us...Apart from the US, Have you traveled elsewhere before?
Me: Yes, I traveled with my family to Italy, France, Norway, Germany, Turkey, Egypt, And I've traveled alone to Dubai and lots of beautiful African countries. My wife and daughter have been to the UK and South Africa too.
VO: Were these travels within 5 years?
Me: Yes.
VO: Is this the whole family?
Me: Yes
VO: Facing daughter...How old are you?
Daughter: 14.
VO: Made a joke about looking so young for 14 years. Then started typing for a very long time. Nodding his head while typing....and later said...everything now looks good, brought out the white paper, pick up your visa at this location.....it would be ready in a week.

We all said thanks.

We prepared with about 40 questions, we do practice by asking ourselves likely interview questions every weekend for a month ahead of our interview date. Be well prepared, unexpected questions can be asked too. The other VO @Korean drilled a lady with a year old baby, for a very long time with so many questions but she was fully prepared too. We left her there and I hope she gets approved. Good luck to everyone too.

well noted and i appreciate your contribution in this regard. In my case, do you advise i continue to apply under B1/B2 visa category in order to attend the training, seminar, and also conference as indicated in my invitation letter?

Thank you!

fkj950ax:

The B1/B2 visa covers a variety of reasons for travel to the United States that includes both business and tourism/non-business purposes.

Reasons for travel under a B1/B2 visa include but are not limited to:

Conducting business, such as negotiating a contract or attending business meetings
Attending a conference relevant to a profession, education, or current business endeavor
Settling a relative’s estate
Engaging in tourist activities or take a vacation
Visiting family
Receiving medical treatment
Attending or taking part in events, such as concerts or classes, as long as there is no payment or credit given to the attendee

You can give it a try....no where to indicate you have been refused a visa before in visa application form.... unless there was a Denied stamp on your passport........am not sure the type of visa you will be applying for. because B1/B2 visa is not for training and for you to secure a student visa you need to hv I20. J1 Visa will be the best if you are a Professional

I sincerely appreciate your reply. I choose B1/B2 because its also stated in my invitation letter that i will use the training and seminar opportunity to attend one of their departmental conference scheduled to take place around that period of my training and i am not a professional but a postgraduate student here in Europe. Do you mean i can still change my visa type of application to J1 visa?

Thanks in anticipation sir/ma!

Hello gurus in the house, I would like to ask some questions about B1/B2 visitor visa,

I am a student in Europe, I got an invitation letter from a university in the states to attend a 3 weeks training and seminar which i have been given a topic to present at the seminar, it was stated in the invitation letter that i will be attending one of their departmental conference during my period of visit. It also stated in the invitation letter that my accommodation, food, and local transportation will be covered and i will be picked up at the airport by the university rep on the day of my arrival in the states...These are my questions?

1. 2019, i was rejected a Canadian student visa from Nija...July 2021 i was rejected UK visa to attend a conference base on covid 19 and financial reasons and the visa application was made in Europe. What is my chance of getting approved for the US visa?

2. In 2014 i traveled to UAE.... in 2019 i visited Ghana. recently i visited Germany and turkey. Will these visited countries fly as travel history?

3. I intend to use self-sponsorship for the trip, although all my living expenses for the 3weeks stay will be covered by my host institution in the state... I have a registered business in Nigeria being run and managed by my staff while I'm here for my studies and the business documents is with me, can this prove my source of income....?

Thank in anticipation as you take your precious time to answer my questions above!
