The moment Wike started making noise about zoning and the need for the ticket to be zoned to the south south I knew that he was pursuing a presidential ambition. I will rather vote APC than to vote Wike. This even tells how rotten Nigeria is that a thug wants to preside over the affairs of Nigeria because he has access to the rivers state treasury. 1 Like |

RektGeo:You are complicating issues. I don't get how someone will work so hard to get an ITA in this present IRCC circumstance but cannot discipline himself enough to leave the money in the account. If you get the PR today will you travel to Canada empty handed ? Or did you borrow the money and present as gift deed and return the money to the owner after submitting your application ? If its so say it and let the experienced members of the blog advice you on how to go about this. You just opened a nairaland account today to bring up an issue that can be clearly avoided. If you want to play the IRCC system with another borrowed gift deed it may backfire as they are asking you for proof of funds because they suspect a foul play. 4 Likes |

onoja12:From the statement issued by the COO they offered to rebook the emir and his entourage on the 7am flight to abuja and the 9am flight from abuja to kano but his COS rejected the offer insisting that the 6:15am flight from Lagos to kano should be held back till they arrive. So clearly it was difficult to manage this situation |

kizonero: Got the passport yesterday. Was issued same 3 months validity multiple ent visa. I went to holiday inn website and made the reservation with my card. However the hotel cancelled the reservation some days later. I dont know why as they didnt notify me thus my guess is that they attempted to charge the card and it declined due to the $200 limit on naira denominated mastercards |

Bornready:No idea. Last time I made a hotel reservation at holiday inn rosebank. The hotel cancelled it after 3 days because they were unable to charge my card. My card was a niara card with the $100 monthly limit. Those guys can deny an applicant with 100M and still put insufficient funds as reason. |

badtlimo:The same documents I submitted in March when I was issued a 3 months validity multiple visa. -intro letter from employer -self intro letter -passport /data page -hotel reservation -flight reservation -bank statement with 6.2M at start and 13.7M at end . I’m yet to get the passport delivered though. Depending on the outcome will plan my holiday. Want to rent a car and drive to Maputo and mbabane from j’burg. So if it’s issued I’m hoping that it will be a multiple entry visa else I’ll just go chill in Zanzibar |

Politics / Re: Hadi Sirika: Nigeria Air Will Commence Operation With Three Rented Planes by abnot: 11:41am On Nov 27, 2021 |
JavaScript90:Ibom air started operations by leasing two CRJ900 aircraft. The ncaa act states that you must have a minimum of two aircrafts to be able to apply for AOC. The AOC process takes time and if you recall Airpeace outrightly purchased 7 old aircrafts to kickstart the AOC process . At the end those aircrafts were grounded for more than one year because they were not able to get AOC for a long time. During this time they were spending money maintaining these aircrafts and paying parking charges and staff with no money coming in. Under conditions like this it is better to lease an aircraft till you get the AOC . If Sirika buys old planes for a start they’d criticise him. If he buys new aircrafts and grounds them while waiting for the AOC process they’ll also criticise him for being wasteful. Next them you travel through Lagos airport (domestic ) you’ll see three new generation Boeing 737 aircrafts with the NGEagle livery. They’ve been parked down for months now waiting to secure an AOC |

Double0h7:Oga I stayed at skylight hotel at Bole road. There is nothing ghetto about there and spent good 12 days going to work at UNDP office located next to olymbia round about . Not everyone on naira land is a low life. Addis Ababa is a backward city when compared to other cities of east Africa that I’ve been to ( Nairobi , Dar es salaam and Kigali). Even some diplomats I worked with during my stay attested to how difficult it was living there and how they keep their families in Pretoria / Johannesburg. A city where you can barely find an ATM machine on the road. The taxis you find on the streets are similar to what I use to see in northern nigeria in 1997/1998. |

Yoighaman:Sadly he doesn’t care. Most passengers only pass through the terminal buildings of the airports and they judge based on what they see. On the other hand Sirika has spent most of his time investing and upgrading safe critical systems across the airports which everyday passengers don’t see . And he never showcases these things Fx . This is why only aviation professionals hail him while the masses bash him . He doesn’t believe fancy terminal buildings are a priority in the absence of safety critical systems 2 Likes |

PROUDIGBO:air peace has a lot of issues which are yet to be addressed although there are signs that they are being addressed. One it’s ownership structure - 100% Allen Onyema. Even dangote sold 20% stake in his refinery to make it an institutional project and to guarantee some level of government support. Secondly Airpeace started out by testing the waters . For this they used old aircrafts to enter the market and gain some market share before updating their fleet. Their fleet modernisation program started in 2019 and they’ve receive 4 or 5 modern aircrafts this year . It may take another 3-4 years for them to be able to phase off all their older aircrafts and begin to enjoy the benefits of operating a young fleet. Thirdly they do not have an MRO for their growing fleet . I hear they are working on one now though. Then they are yet to secure a technical partner which I al so believe is in works. So due to these issues and other political considerations the government may not feel the urge to adopt as a flag carrier. 1 Like |

Yoighaman:You’re right. The money bags of Aviation industry ( Allen Onyema , yunusa) they respect him because he is a high standard man. He has said it at many forums that Nigerians do not deserve the kind of service they are getting from these operators. For instance the Airpeace CEO said Sirika challenged him to invest in new aircrafts and he listened while the man helped get them waivers and concessions to encourage them. The only problem is that he is not a media / press person thus a lot of negative comments about him have been left to fly 2 Likes |

DoctorDree:With the ownership structure maintenance will not be an issue. It’s not a one man business. It will be better to own 5% stake in an air nigeria that (if successful) can displace an Ethiopian airlines from the Nigerian market than to own 100% of a three 22year old aircraft airline. 1 Like |

chiefobdk2:Well the last time I checked my state of origin (rivers ) and state of residence (Lagos ) where doing better than anambra in all major economic indices . In aviation both Lagos and phc airports are one of the three self-sufficient airports in Nigeria so I wonder what will make me hate that of anambra as you are assuming. And there’s also no where in my post where I advised the CEO of Airpeace. If posting facts is a symptom of poverty to you so be it . I have never seen write ups that represent the kind of bitterness and hatred shown on this post over the past few months but then that won’t stop me from posting what I believe is right . globemoney01: Anambra airport will function when the authorities (FAAN, NAMA and NCAA) approve irrespective of what anybody writes here. I don't know why you are angry as if my post is the reason why flights were not approved to operate from umueri on saturday. I repeat that allen onyema's airpeace has received its own share of owner management syndrome which is one of the reasons he was indicted by he US Department of Justice for paying for aircrafts from NGO accounts controlled by him. Airlines globally do not finance aircraft acquisitions that way. Again in 2020 the UK government also blocked his airline from carrying out a flight to london. They sold tickets without holding EASA TCO certificate to enable them operate into UK/european airspace. Again in same 2020 AIB probed them for overwriting the contents of the cockpit flight data recorder. Canada also blocked them for selling tickets to nigerians when they didnt have ATC from canada. I I can go on and on so i'm not surprised that his airline sold tickets to anambra for Saturday. 2 Likes |

chiefobdk2: If the airport got certified as they claim they should post a scanned copy of the certification for us to see. Bayelsa airport was completed by Seriake dickson. An airpeace flight conveying the CEO, ben bruce and some other dignitaries got approval to land at the airport in 2019 . Seriake dickson also landed at the airport in a chartered aircraft a number of times. But NCAA did not certify the airport for commercial operations till just a few months ago (2 years later). One of the issues NCAA raised was the perimeter fencing around the water not meeting their security specification. Commercial flights (united nigeria airline) began operations only about 2 months ago. There was no dragging of NCAA. Today same air peace has stopped operating into Makurdi after a short stint following airport certification issues. RCCG recently sold its helicopter after issues with NCAA. Air peace plan to launch its route to London has been pending with NCAA for 3 years (the CEO himself mentioned that). After the medview ban NCAA seems to have introduced their own processes before allowing a nigerian registered airline to apply for EASA Third country Operator (TCO) . Air peace is suffering from owner-manager syndrome where the owner (allen onyema) is making decisions that a professional airline manager will not do. The decision to sell tickets with the assumption that NCAA will approve the October 30 flight was most likely the doing of allen onyema and willie obiano for political reasons. No professional run airline will rush to start operations into a new airport. After the replacment of Enugu airport runway ethiopian airline announced resumption date and moved it a few times citing security and other issues. Today ethiopian has resumed operations there after a number of back and forth . I'll like to also add that when airpeace bought three jets from embraer this 2021 they went through a lot of regulatory tests before putting the aircrafts into commercial use. Before scaling through the regulatory hurdles they still flew empty to a number of airports to simulate their operations as a company before the demonstration flights with NCAA begun. It was after this they launched commercial operations on the new aircraft. Aircrafts are not Cars. Same way Airports are not motor parks. 3 Likes |
