Politics / Re: Federal Executive Council Dissolved by AfroCynic: 6:46pm On Mar 17, 2010 |
I have another question, abeg. Since Nigeria has the absurd requirement that all 36 state governors send their desired candidate to the Federal government for a ministerial appointment, would they have to do that again? And does Johnathan have to accept whomever the Governors send to him? |

Someone help me, abeg, when he tries to hire new ministers, the NASS will make it very difficult for him, especially those from the North or is there a way he can do it without needed to get the new appointees vetted. Lucky Joe is breaking free from their chain and they must be very vexed. |

Politics / Re: How To Break The North by AfroCynic: 2:21pm On Feb 25, 2010 |
Why must every thread by monopolised by the pro and anti Biafrans? Can't you all just create your own thread? Anyways, Doyin13, this is perfect time to test the mettle of the so called Mid Belt politicians, Will they be short sighted and cow tow to the Core Northern cabal as headed by Turai or will they take a longer view and join with the interested Southern parties and wrest power away from the destructive North? With that said, who will be the brave enough to make such overtures to the mid beltters? Would it be the Igbo or Yoruba? Say what you will, as a political bloc, the South South alone is not strong enough to mount a meaningful challenge to the Turai led cabal. The Igbo and the Yoruba do need to bridge their differences, politically, the Yoruba are slightly stronger than the Igbo, because the seem to have more influential individuals, but even with that said, the influences they may have is not being adequately harnessed. I do not see why Clarke, Ojukwu, Tinubu (or whomever) hold clandestine meetings about how to proceed, |

Music/Radio / Re: Nigerian "hiphop" Music Scence Is Just As Over Hyped As "nollywood" by AfroCynic: 6:11pm On Feb 23, 2010 |
The Nigerian music industry is still quite young. Seriously, we are experiencing the incipient stages of self expression, I mean as country. What does concern me is the lack of originality, this is why I cannot get with artists like M.I. (dude raps like an American and his subject matter do not move me). The R&B scene is probably much better, singers like Kefee, Omawumi and L'ami sing in their own mother tongues and they can really sing. The best thing about the explosion of the entertainment industry in Naija right now is the cementing a of common Naija identity, the whole 'Omo Naija' theme is very strong in the industry and I love that. We all know Naija artists barely make any money from selling CDs, most of the dough they get comes from concerts and sponsorship deals. Anyways sha, I try to rep the good ones where and when I can. The guys I do like in terms of production are: Tosin Igho So Sick Dr. Frabs Cobhams Terry G That is it really. I really do think Don Jazzy is overrated. |

Politics / Re: If You Become Naija's President What Will You Do To Ensure Nigeria's Development by AfroCynic: 9:24pm On Jan 03, 2010 |
Did Obasanjo consult the nation before he signed Bakassi away? No! So the very act of signing it away is illegal as per Nigerian law. SO, I do not recognise it. Thank You. |
Politics / Re: If You Become Naija's President What Will You Do To Ensure Nigeria's Development by AfroCynic: 7:29pm On Jan 03, 2010 |
I will vote for Ikengawo! I like you ideas and I will glaldy work with you to make that Nigeria possible. The other ones I would suggest is; Giving each state control over its own health, eduction and police. Reclaim Bakkasi from Cameroon. Ensuring that the best person gets the job, no more federal character b.s. |
