Religion / What Is Your Request? -wotmin by Ajiboye2000(m): 7:25am On Jul 09, 2022
WHAT IS YOUR REQUEST?

On this memorial day that we are all graced to witness and celebrate, some children gathered together for a spectacular celebration and they all made their request know. Their request was submitted to the one who is capable of granting them such request, that is why I captioned this piece, what is your request? The request of these children was a very simple one, not just simple alone but timely and reasonable.

But when the chief priests and teachers of the law saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children shouting in the temple area, “Hosanna to the Son of David”, they were indignant. - Mathew 21:15 (NIV).

As a matter of fact, the Chief Priests and teachers of the law recognized the good deeds of Jesus Christ, they didn’t dispute it. Jesus Christ healed the blind and lame that came to him at the temple, he has been doing many wonders prior this day and they were all aware. The gathering of the children let alone was purpose defined, they saw the good deeds of Jesus Christ and they appreciated it by honouring and celebrating him with their shouts. Have you been able to see his good deeds? Yes, you have seen it, Have you honoured and celebrated Jesus Christ in recognition of his supernatural deeds?
What was the content of the children celebration and honour given to Jesus Christ? They actually requested of him “Hosanna, Son of David” which literarily means, Save us now, Son of David. This can be interpreted as a demand of their long time expected deliverance from the Roman empire which has been prophesied in the Scripture (Check Jeremiah 23 5 6). But it is beyond that in the literal sense, the children shouted to Jesus Christ and it is a request of freedom. The children didn’t ask amiss; they saw the need for their deliverance, they realized that their current state of being is not too good for them. I strongly believe that if the children asked wrongly, it is of high tendency that Jesus Christ would rebuke them. The Children requested for Salvation, freedom and Deliverance. If you were opportune to be among the children at that time, what would have been your request.

Although, the request of the Children made the Chief Priests and the teachers of the law upset and they rebuked them but the Children recognized that only Jesus Christ could save them. Have you identified that only Jesus Christ can save you, you need the only salvation that exists which is the salvation of Jesus Christ. Yes, you might not be happy with your current situation, you know you are in the bondage of sin, you are aware of your generation and family been enslaved by the power of darkness, you are not ignorant of some people who doesn’t want you to make the request of salvation from Jesus Christ. As we celebrate the Palm Sunday, you can also call unto Jesus Christ for you to be saved. He is ready, make yourself available for the eternal salvation.

THE URGENT NEED FOR A TRUE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUTONOMY IN NIGERIA
Showing up in discussing the real shape and position of the true local government in the State Nigeria is not to leave the realistic parts untold. You need to quote me well in the phrase "TRUE AUTONOMY", I never stand to dispute the fact that there is "autonomy" in the third tier of governmental institution in Nigeria but it is to some certain extents and in the theoritical approach.
Having thinked critically as a public analyst has made me to conclude that only two tiers of federalism is been practised in the realistic point of view, the grass root government with time is becoming a camouflage and a parastatal/agency/ministry of the state government to perfect manipulation.
Looking into the absence of true federalism in the country is an adiitional proof to the ineffectiveness and inefficiency of local government in Nigeria. Having a full believe that reasonable Nigerians will agree
with me that we need to start clamouring and agitating for the autonomy in the Local Govenment System. The reforms, ammendments been made are effective to certain extents most especially in its uniformity and power delegation.
Most of the elected Local Govenment Executive Members and Legislators or Transition Implementation Committee, as the case may be for each state, are mostly imposed by the superior i.e state power. State power is what I defined as the utilisation of power by incumbent government both constitutional
and unconstitutional but mostly unconstitutional in a country like Nigeria.
I came out in postulating in this edition that in five aspects, local government is not having the autonomy in excercising her power;
1. Allocation/Finance
2. Decision Making
3. Selection
4. Revenue/Tax generation
5. Public Spending
Allocation/Finance: State and Local Government Joint Account is a common word that has been trending in Nigeria Speaking Records for a while, our so called representatives haven't paid more attention in dicussing a crucial issue like this. The State Government is not supposed to have the control over the Allocation/Finance. The main reason I see behind defaut of Local Government Staff salaries is due to lack of autonomy in the Allocation/
Finance aspect.
Preferably, I suggests that the Federal Government should have an Inter Governmental Relations (IGR) in a direct form with the Local Government. The grassroot government dont have any option than to collect the token been sent to them by the State Government. The Federal Government should please take a critical look into this.
Decision Making: I will be very concised on this. Local Government Council so far in the administration cannot decide on their own except directives are taken from the superior. This is not supposed to be, less for the State Government to serve as Checks on them even to some limitations. Most of this order are always topdown and vertical. In Decision making they have no say than to subject to order whether favourable or not, making it less democratic in practice.
Thirdly, in the aspect of Selection both in political and civil set-up, i won't refer it as imposition but the use of state power and "Geo Random Selection"(been propounded in a previous pubication) respectively. Politically, Selection is based on election on and appointment due to the democratic atmosphere. In the real sense the state government use the incumbent power they possess in ensuring their political party emerge at all cost which is unconstitutional, the need to allow the People at the grassroot to excercise their franchise wthout interference. State Goveenment do complicate the issues during election resulting to election irregularities, malpractices and all sorts of election odds, despite the state power they do fail but on rare occasion.
More over, the State Government also use the State Power to influence the State Electoral Commmission to let the election be in their favour and uses "The People's Lasts Hope" i.e Judiciary when they seek redress as part of their rights by their usual unconstitutional custom of manipulating things.
Revenue/Tax Collection: Here we come for loud out sake, the Local Government has no revenue and tax power. A popular saying; "The power to tax is the power to rule". The sources of revenue and tax generation have been taken up by the State Government which have resulted to inability in discharging her financial functions without Allocation/
Finance from Federal and State Government. Therefore, Local Government System should be restored back to it normal position in order for it to perform well. The concurrent list belonging to them should be allowed to freely operate.
Lastly is the Public Spending, Local Government can't discharge their financial duties today without directive from their boss i.e State Government. Thems setting up Local government System is just for the principle of federalism to be implemented.
Having discussed five divergent issues concerning the Local Government autonomy in Nigeria. I believe sensitive Nigerians should wake up from political and administrative slumber and start agitating for true autonomy and not just an ordinary autonomy. Local Government should be well re-organised and recognised by the constitution embodied with full legitimate power, enough constitutional provision, restructuring should be made for them. They should be independent and autonomous for its effectiveness and efficiency.
Thanks. I remain Ajiboye Oluwatosin Oyewole. Department of Public Administration, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. Kwara State.
Politics / Geo Sided Random Selection As A Factor Violating The Application Of The Principl by Ajiboye2000(m): 4:15pm On Jul 21, 2017
GEO SIDED RANDOM SELECTION AS A FACTOR VIOLATING THE APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE OF MERITS SELECTION.
Patriotic Citizens of Nigeria!!! I personally have come to realize that any where been required of you to fill in your State of origin,L.G.A,Town and Religions is not only for the purpose of Bio-data information but for them to consider these factors before appointment.
This term "Merit Selection" is a major characteristics of Max Weber(1920) Bureaucratic Principle. For a proper effective and efficient administration, merit selection can't be eluded in appointing and recruiting Personnel. Simply put, merit selection is all about considering candidates base on their educational qualifications, working experience amongst other related merit criteria. Conclusively, merit selection has nothing to do with our State, L.G.A,Town,Religion and ethnic background. I'm not proofing that these bio-data requirement are not important but very essential and sensitive. In Nigeria of today, viewing it from the realistic point, these requirement are now being misconstrued.
Examining a practical illustration; 30 applicants are applying for the post of Administrative Officers with 10 vacancies, in the real sense,if their bio data is irrelevant, I'm assuring you that the selection will be based on merit considering their CGPA, but in otherwise case where States, L.G.A,Town, Religion are included it will now serve as the tool of favouring the applicants based on this requirements. It is this instance that I will refer to as "GEO SIDED RANDOM SELECTION" which is to be defined as "The act of appointing, recruiting, selecting candidates based on their States, L.G.A,Town,Religious, Race and Ethnic group". GEO SIDED RANDOM SELECTION has been into practice since the pre colonial era in Nigeria, MERIT SELECTION existence in Nigeria is few and rare.
The issue of GEO SIDED SELECTION is for us to trace back to the rudimentary and fundamental practice of Merits Selection in Nigeria as propounded by the Great Erudite Scholar, Max Weber in 1922 in his work "The Theory of Social and Economic Organization where this so called merits selection is a salient characteristics of Weberian Model of Bureaucracy.
Before corruption can be eroded away in our society, we need managerial reformation in our undertakings in our immediate surroundings.
Conclusively, I'm urging the So called Nigerians regardless of your strata to strictly adhere to the principles, fundamentals of Merit Selection.
Thanks, I remain Oluwatosin Oyewole Ajiboye.

Crime / Juvenile Deliquency As A Social Problem In Nigeria This Social Problem In by Ajiboye2000(m): 8:24am On Jul 20, 2017
JUVENILE DELIQUENCY AS A SOCIAL PROBLEM IN NIGERIA
This social problem in Nigeria is having a negative effect in every aspect of the Country be it Politically and Economically. Juvenile Delinquency is causing series of havoc in Nigeria and putting the life of Juvenile delinquent at stake. This is believed to have contributed a lot to set back in the State Nigeria. Initially, illicit act begins at a very tender age among Nigerians and later develops to a form of lifestyle that is Juvenile Delinquency.
This can be curb and eradicated through different measures depending on the approach but for the purpose of this write up I will be dwelling on the SOCIOLOGICAL APPROACH. Also I believe that: "For things to be good in Nigeria it calls for gradual process".
Firstly the Sociological curb measure is concerned with the Family because Society is made up of the family. There should be proper upbringing, care and monitoring by the Parents. They shouldn't toy with their children's life because they are the tomorrow of Nigeria as popularly said and to any social problem, solution emanates from the Home as regard to the Sociologist belief.
Peer group influence: "Show me your friend and I will tell you whom you're" says a common adage, also "Bad friends corrupts and influence both good manner and behaviour. The friends we have is of high probability of turning us into Juvenile delinquent. For instance; Seyi who doesn't smoke becomes friend to Sola a delinquent with high level of smoking, it is likely for Seyi to become a smoke addict. Let Parent monitor the friends, play mates/groups and contemporaries their wards associate themselves with.
Religious Institutions: Nothing much to discuss on this, Religious Leaders should preach often against juvenile delinquency.
Government: As a matter of fact the Nigerian Government is trying their possible best to put an end to juvenile delinquency. I am calling on the Nigeria Police Force to stand and implement all necessary and related policies through Their specialized units and commands.
Lastly, I will be calling much attention on the Community, that is the Society we all find our selves. Each community should come up with her own way to sanction and punish juvenile delinquents. Traditional Council should make policies to curb this. Although most communities are not helping the situation but complicating the issue.
Juvenile delinquency is actually endagering the Country and putting a set back to Nigeria as a whole. Thanks, I remain Oluwatosin Oyewole Ajiboye.
Education / Empowerements, A Solution To Nigeria Academic Setback. In Nigeria Today, Ha by Ajiboye2000(m): 8:18am On Jul 20, 2017
EMPOWEREMENTS, A SOLUTION TO NIGERIA ACADEMIC SETBACK.
In Nigeria today, have we felt the actualization of the real empowerment, significantly, we have misconstrued empowerment for distribution of Recharge Cards, Hair Clippers, Generators, Grinding Machines, Vehicles and lot more. Do you know it is a vital responsibility of our Leaders who have gone out to represent the interest of we so called Mass. From the actual view, Amounts of money have been allocated to each constituency, to our Honourable Representatives to cater for empowerment.
There has been slow down in the educational sector of our beloved country and we do always shout that "Education is the best Legacy", and are we working towards it?, do will still have time to restructure it, we have neglected it and diverted our attention to unnecessary issues while the essential and important ones are been left out. And during, Political Campaigns, we do fire the utterance: FREE EDUCATION, DISBURSEMENT OF BURSASY LEVY, SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS........... To be factual, are those manifestos implemented?
Despite Nigeria problem, education can be used to minimize it, even sociologist do believe that, EDUCATION IS A KEY SOLUTION TO ANY SOCIETAL ISSUES, My paramount believe is that, the only long lasting asset we can have is EDUCATION, only if it is well positioned. Develop countries today, we're only able to make it through the educational reforms. As a potential and actual administrator, I am hereby postulating that, for a better tomorrow we need to embrace and develop the educational sector of our nation only in our own interests.
Not to be biased, some of our God Sent Leaders are trying their possible best in The reform but only a view among them. The Nigeria Youths are suffering from inability to afford the schooling cost, which will have an adverse effect in the Nation if we don't profer urgent solutions to it due to large proportion of illiterate youths in town.
Lastly, to the faithful Individuals and Groups who have been rendering academic assistance to the Nigeria youths, BRAVO!!!, and please you shouldn't relent your efforts because, the Almighty God will reward you, I am hereby appealing to our Elected and Appointed Political Office Holders to help us profer a solution to this by Empowering the youths ACADEMICALLY.
Thanks, I remain Oluwatosin Oyewole Ajiboye.
Politics / Secession A Threat To Nigeria's Democracy And A Temporary Solution To Nigeria' by Ajiboye2000(m): 8:11am On Jul 20, 2017
SECESSION A THREAT TO NIGERIA'S DEMOCRACY AND A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO NIGERIA'S PROBLEM.
There has been lot of aspirations by different Groups in the country for secession most especially in the South East generally the Igbo Ethnic Group. Many are actually advocating for division of the country regionally and geographically for autonomy and self government.
As Nigeria's democracy is concerned, Secession is a threat on it. The rule and principle democracy is against any form of secession or break up. It makes me laugh a lot when I hear or read about the advocation of Nigeria's breakup because if the country is been divided each Segments will suffer in one aspect/sector or the other.
For instance, not all regions are endowed or blessed equally but each has her own comparative advantage over others. The region that lacks one thing must suffer.
From my own personal view, it is not that I am against Nigeria break up but it will only give a temporary solution to the country's problem while lasting/permanent solution should be aimed at. For truth sake, there is what will refer to as discrimination, political domination and ethnicity in the country from the realistic view.
Division of the country is not the best thing ever to think of due to it future regret and consequences. To some extent, I do admit that there is domination politically by some ethnic group. Another major issue is the ineffectiveness and inefficiency of the Federal Character Commission. I do believe the commission is no more independent and autonomous but politically manipulated and influenced. we can't see things that are been expected from them in their operations.
I am hereby appealing to the faithful Nigerians to be confidential in oneness and unity so as to move the country forward.
"Secession is not a lasting solution to Nigeria problem" let always hammer this quote on the hears of Nigerians. If we can neglect Racial Discrimination, Ethnicity and Religion differences but advocate for unity under an umbrella for a better Nigeria.
To make Nigeria one is a task that must be done. I am advising the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Sole administration of President Muhammed Buhari to send delegates and representatives to the grass root level to seek the opinion and consent of the mass. The people are ready to express their feelings i.e public opinion should be sought for.
Thanks, I remain Oluwatosin Oyewole Ajiboye.
