shady26: the percentage that were not cut off with their throats slit open like ike ukonu and co,corpers that were serving their father land

Abeg go and do your research well. Infact inform me when you are ready to let go of your phobia of crossing water bodies and come over to see things for yourself in the north.
And if your fellow people in the north tell you its bad to stay up here, then they just don't want you to come and reap from the gold mine called Northern Nigeria

donpata: Many of diz pple posting ignorant comments are just doing so coz dev neva crosd Abuja into d North - else, dey wont say what they say...
If u had seen muslims in Kaduna and Kano cut open a pregnant woman, kill d child nd leave d woman helpless;
If u had seen muslims in Jos and Bauchi use swords to slice a human being into 2; take snap shots nd post dem online;
If u had experiencd d pouring of hot groundnutoil on Christians in Zaria
If u had experienced d rape nd slitting of women's throat in Northern Kaduna;
If u had seen over 20 churches on fire in just one community;
If u had seen d offices of Mr. Biggs brought 2 d ground;
If ur brother passing 2ru a Muslim area in Jos had been dragged forcfully in broad day light; leading him 2 d gallows only 2 b saved by police men
If ur Relative ever went out bt never returnd bcoz he was set ablaze 4 being a Christina;
If u had experienced......

Just bcoz;
A cartoon of Mohammed was made in Denmark
A journalist made a joke abt Mohammed picking a wife among the 2003 miss world contestants
A so called pastor wanted to Burn d Koran in US

Then;
Many would not b saying wat dey ar saying..

I hope u undastnd where CAN is directing its anger.. Remember it was metamorphosed from Northern CAN...

Dat said, I was happy wen i saw el rufai's apology. But coming back with dat statement as quoted by CAN made me understand dat he only appologized 4 d sake of it bt not dat he mearnt it...
Peace.

Do you even know what went on in Jos? It would have been categorized as a genocide against so called settlers but we all know who owns the media. The truth is when christains do wrong, its no big deal on Nairaland but Muslims sneeze, and its a storm. Talk about being noble

@All those calling northerners aboki, cattle, goats, illiterates etc, should know that they are just a bunch of local champions who have not crossed the Niger to explore the Vast greatness that is Northern Nigeria.
Why don't you ask yourselves this question, what percentage of Corp members that get posted to the north return back home after POP.
Politics / Re: Panic In Presidency Over Mounting Tension In Military - Talk Of Mutiny? by alakid: 5:18pm On Jan 31, 2013
seanet01: Northern Nigerians have no moral right to complain about this.
They have taken other regions through this path of iniquity before and so should enjoy this fanfare while it last.

What's with you people and insulting the North, please go continue your tribalism and leave us out of it. We are too progressive to give a damn, a new crop of Arewa concious youth is on the rise. We are looking forward to a true federalism where we explore the potentials in the North for our development. So keep whining and hating, while we move on.

Akshow: it takes a silly Arrow to know a silly quote. @topic OBJ is indeed intelligent and a wise leader. On a related issue, aside 'i once had no shoes', i Dont think Oga GEJ has make any statement worthy of quote.

That is not correct, that is not correct! (GEJ to amanpour)

And honestly for the south easterners(igbos) to say they are tired of the north, to say the least is the highest form of ingratitude. They live freely up here, even own lands, secure indigineship for their kids to study in our state universities, heck we elect them as councillors, give them special advisers etc. What more do they want? We should lie down while they march on us?

I think the problem is that the enlightened masses of the north have not been present in the media and it has made us look like the bad guys!

Let it be known that I hate the northern elites more than you guys down there. But because they are bad doesn't mean we shud be your spanking boys!

danjohn: We must all remember that for a non-PDP President to perform well, he or she would need to have control of the national assembly. Do you think that the opposition can realistically win the national assembly?

True talk, that is why we are mobilising for total change, GMB did it in the core north in 2003 when he said ANPP sak (meaning ANPP at all levels) even thou some abused the opertunity which led to discordant votes in 2011 when people voted GMB but refused to do same wit percieved opportunists in CPC,

What candidates can they realistically offer as Presidential and Vice-Presidential flag-bearers who would

a) Have a realistic chance of unseating Goodluck and -

b) Be very likely to change the fortunes of this country positively.

Nominate

President: Buhari, or whoever he supports.
Vice President: does it really matter?

Deep Sight,
Why start a threat of questions when you know you already have a biased mind towards the answers you hope to get.
A word of advice, next time just state your opinion and ask what Nairalanders think about it. Atleast those who have done so were not banned!
Politics / Re: Why Northern Senators Opposed Petroleum Industry Bill by alakid: 11:49am On Jan 02, 2013
I am from the north central, I'm for one Nigeria but let it be known that we are not afraid of leaving behind Nigeria for our own country, and let it be known that the whole concept of middle-belt is overrated. There is no clearly demarcated map, and the people are still as different as white and black. So once again I say to all ye that stay in the comfort of your home and write critisms of the north, know that we do not benefit from crude oil proceeds, what has a tomato farmer in sokoto gotten from so called oil? Govt does not subsidize his fertilizer, he buys fuel at higher than market value (international) and there is no social security or welfare of any kind.
Let it be categorically clear to you critics that we are as tired of the arrangement as you are, we want a strong regional govt that allows us harness our agricultural and natural resources not a federal govt that has refused to allow us mine our resources and keeps handing crumbs to our selfish leaders who finish it all without thinking of the masses. I am a proud northerner but I'm ashamed of our leaders!

The person that started this thread is hell bent on inciting hate among the diverse people of Kaduna. People sitting comfortably in their homes in the south want us to start a religious crisis in Kaduna,and by extension the whole of Arewa! God pass them!

A reply to all calling the north violent, fundamental, extremist etc. I do not blame you, most of you have not been to the north. Ask all your corp members that come to the north to serve and never go back, ask your traders that are making brisk business up here, you would now find out that all the useless reports about the north is manufactured by haters in the guise of journalists, that are half baked and not widely travelled
P.S. Boko haram is doing more damage to us in a colossal dimension than to visitors to the north. They have killed many NORTHERN MUSLIMS, yes! But you never hear the media tell you that.

My first post on Nairaland!
I want my fellow Nairalanders to know that the peoples General( Muhd Buhari ) has what we refer to as disciples, people that follow him because they have seen him as a role model. So far no other Nigerian ruler, old or new school has developed such followership.
If Buhari contests a million times I would vote for him, that said, I wouldn't mind seeing him mentor a new set of young leaders to emerge, who have a semblance of his integrity and who think in th dynamism required to place us among if not the 1st world, then we should be among the emerging ecomomies.
