To God be the glory,after carefully weighing my options I resumed with FBN yesterday.If u've had contact with FBN at any point and u're confident u did well don't fret,I waited almost a year.I learnt recruitment is based on grade and location,meaning if u're in a location wr dr is a vacancy and ur within d grade band required for the role u'll be called.Keep the hope alive.

I'd personally prefer Bismarck Rewane would have been a brilliant choice.The next CBN governor shld be someone with an in-depth understanding of the peculiarity of the Nigerian economy.His analysis over the years has been spot on and any statement by Bismarck is taken seriously in d financial sector.
Aig is not really a bad choice,he is smart and will certainly get d job done but he lacks d wisdom of pple like Rewane.Atedo too is not a bad choice.I think we shld really be exited abt the prospects a change in leadership will bring to d banking sector.

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Monday described as false a report from a national newspaper that the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Mainstreet Bank Limited, Mrs. Faith Tuedor- Matthews, had been suspended by the board of directors of the bank.
Head, Corporate Communications, AMCON, Mr. Kayode Lambo, in a text message to THISDAY Monday, said the corporation was not aware of such development.

Also, Tuedor- Matthews who addressed the media yesterday described the report as malicious.

Mainstreet, which was created in August 2011 through a ‘bridging’ process, is wholly owned by AMCON. The newspaper had alleged that Tuedor- Matthews suspension over alleged misappropriation of funds was after a board meeting last Thursday.

However, Lambo said: “As you know Mainstreet is one of the banks fully owned by AMCON and we are not aware any such meeting held. There is no record of such a meeting. We have further spoken with the managing director of Mainstreet Bank and she informed us that no such meeting was held.”

Speaking at the media briefing at the end of a board meeting, the Mainstreet Bank boss assured customers of the bank that there was no crisis in the financial institution.

“There was no board meeting on that day in the article. The article in its entirety is very malicious. We all know that this is a bank that so much money has been put in for us to turn around, and that is what we have been doing.

“It is malicious and intended to make this programme of turning around the bank much more difficult. It creates issues of confidence particularly for our customers. There is no crisis on the board of this bank and it is unfortunate for somebody to allude to something like that,” she added.

A statement from the bank also said: “Our board is intact and Mrs. Faith Tuedor-Matthews is and remains our GMD/CEO.

@Dr Jacobs,drs absolutely nothing you can do if dy've not called you after d test.You just have to wait as dy will call wen dy are ready to interview you.From d various posts here u'll notice d recruitment process is not uniform and takes btw 2mths for extremely lucky pple to 7mths for some others.I'll advice you jst relax and pray dy call soon while exploring other opportunities.

In my own opinion I don't think FBN can afford to suspend recruitment.They are seriously understaffed and a visit to any of dr branches will confirm this,even as dy are also expanding.I was surprised to see a new branch of FBN near closed dwn UBA and ACCESS bank branches in Lagos.The fact that HR is taking so long to contact prospects may also be due to the workload on HR pple.I was surprised when a frnd told me d same set of pple who I met in Ibadan also facilitated interviews in d east,you can imagine d kind of stress such pple will be under given d size of d bank.Lets pray and keep hope alive.

If GEJ was shocked when he visited the police college,then he wld collapse when he visits our hostels in our higher institutions.I wld encourage you to upload pictures of ur school hostel here for the world to see,you might just be d agent of change that wld spur ur school authority to do the needful.

@mimi77,if it's marketing then expect the 'what can you bring question'.Since u're looking at 3rd level find out the quarterly target of 3rd level officer and tell them you'll bring twice of that in 3mths.If you've been out of job for a while let them know you've engaged in activities that has exposed you to some HNI that you can easily bring on board once u're recommended.I don't think I dropped my CV at FCMB when I was distributing CV all around,I'll try to do dat ASAP.All d very best!
@Georgee,The branch invite frm FCMB cld be d ridiculous DSA sales job cos I don't think FCMB does test for exp. hire so find out before you even consider going.
