I guess your bother is very lucky. He can just read all day morning through night, I don't luxury of time as am at work all day and maybe have 2hrs after work to get if nothing one line into my head.
About tthe videos just google CFA Level 1 Videos and you will get as much as you want.
Its not late for him so far as he is dedicated to making this.

tblazer I've been following the thread but your last has just touched me.
First am sitting for Dec 2010 and I started studying since March cos I registered back then.
For materials I really spend time on the internet cos currently I work with an Investment Bank, I surf the web and to be honest I've got alot of materials from there including videos.

But I have got hands on Schweser study notes which is less size wise but the books from CFA is also very good when it comes to explaining furhter.

One thing you need to know is that practice questions is the no. 1 thing. Practice, practice, practice and more practice until you cannot stop practicing.
It has really helped me since I started studying.

We will all get there by God's grace.

Hi guys can one read on his/her own and still pass the exams?
The thing is I work in and Investment Banking Instituition and there are guys who are already CFA holders and I see real life situations not just book situation so can it work?

Someone has agreeded to give me study materials already.

I joined an Investment Banking Company last. Prior to joining I did not have any knowledge about what the company does.
At the moment I am attached to both the Finance Department and the Investment Banking Department as the Department Assistant. I studied Maths and Computer Science so I do not have much problem blending although I do not do core Finance or Investment Banking jobs just normal office jobs abd the rest of them.

So I have decided to upgrade myself and have a career in Investment Banking.
My problem is how to get a good preparatory class for a sound grounding for Chartered Financial Analyst Exams in June.

Please house can someone please help me with any information on how to get a move on this because I have little or no time to get this started.

Honestly, this is good. But where is it leading us to?
If we all go on with what we all are good at, will it fetch us jobs?
For me though am hardworking, dogged to the core and can adapt in any environment I find myself in.
Hope to get a masters degree in MIS, I studied Maths/Computer Science and I work as a Finance/Investment Banking Department Assistant and my dream is to fuse Finance and Computer Science together through Management Information System {MIS} by God's grace.

I've been working now for a month and that is God's doing through Nairaland. I've been on this forum for I cannot remeber how long.

My sister only submitted her CV by hand at there office late last year and had forgotten about it untill the call came and by the way it is for customer service

My sister had a phone interview from Etisalat about 3weeks ago and up till now they've not got back to her as they said .She has been calling the number which the man who interviewed her used and nobody is responding. Please house does anybody here know how they operate, that is if they are going to get back to her or any other means to get in touch with them atleast do a follow up on the interview. Please help
