Family / Re: I Got A Job In Lagos: Am I A Bad Mother And Wife? by allsmiles1(m): 2:03pm On Jun 29, 2007
@MILITIA

The problem wit u is that u dont trust urself, let alone trusting someone else. Maybe u are talking from experience (when u were getting promoted by submitting to ogas), but that does not mean every woman taking up a job will go thru such, or makes every "Oga" a potential predator.

Please if u have nothing better to contribute, hold ur peace.

Family / Psychologist Needed! by allsmiles1(m): 11:12am On Jun 19, 2007
A very young friend is in need of help, professional help i would say.

She got raped (by her boyfriend) and right now is at a loss at wat to do next. From the discussion i had with her, its obvious that she needs  counselling. So please if anyone has handled a rape incident before or knows a good counsellor pls send mail to easyprojects@yahoo.com

But if u would just give an advise as to wat she should do next, the floor is oppened.
Crime / Super Eagles Player Sentenced To 13 Yrs In Jail Over Rape Issue by allsmiles1(m): 9:44am On Jun 18, 2007
Godwin Okpara, former eagles player has been given a 13yr jail term in france for raping his adopted daughter. his wife has also been sentenced to 5yrs for encouraging her husband while  the adopted girls mother was sentenced to a 3yr jail term for not coming to the rescue of her daughter. The girl was 13 when she was brought to france from nigeria and she claims this has been going on from then.

Godwin Okpara claims it was not rape, that it was done with the consent of the girl (adopted daughter)

Can you believe this?
Nairalanders, i don't know what to make of this so i will leave the floor open for you all.

The fastest way to take a bath in the stock market is to try and prove that u are right and the market is wrong.

Conventional wisdom and consensus thinking is seldom right in the market place, so i will advise everyone on this thread to learn the fundamentals of the stock market if u are thinking of buying, selling or even stocking shares.
Career / Who Employs 3rd Class Graduates? by allsmiles1(m): 11:01am On Jun 03, 2007
i was recently i the company of some young graduates dicussing and sharing ideas, and the guy with the most innovative ideas was a third class graduate.

This got me wondering, are there people or companies out there that give equal opportunities to graduatess to prove themselves other than what ur certicates holds?

as they say, the true test of a man's ability is not in his certicate, but in his courage, competence and capabilities.

please, u guys help me out on this issue
Family / Re: Life At 30 When You're Not Married by allsmiles1(m): 6:25pm On May 31, 2007
reasons why most nigerians are still unmarried at 30 (those living in Naija) is purely economic. The average young man doesnt want to get married untl he feels cormfortable enough, the averge yououng lady is not far from this train of thot, (that is the Guy she is going to marry must be settled in), if she is not bothered about his status the Parents are thinking,  my child must not bring home anything, friends are thinking and asking, Is that what u want to settle into?,  the list is endless.

Sometimes, all this gets the ladies pitching tent and before u know it, BLAM! 30 is knocking at ur door.

So wat i will suggest is this. U av only one life to live, as such make urself Happy First, for if u are not happy with yourself, u cant be happy with the world.

And if being single at is wat makes u happy, please dont compromise,
but plan for ur old age becos the human nature thrives on companionship
