Mobil567: As CBN do not longer subsidise FX, you have to either pay through a funded dollar account via bank transfer or dollar card. Submitting Form A and waiting to get a naira debit for the official rate might make you miss the deadline. many thanks |

Gr8mind07: That's not form the form A payment pattern. You don'tneed to buy USD from Abokis to utilize form A , the bank sort everything. The only cons with it is that the process is always prolonged if you don't follow it up closely.
You can actually fund a USD debit card to make the payment, but I think the BDC has a limit to the volume of dollars they sell to individuals
I advise you to walk into your bank to make enquiry Thanks |

Nairaland / General / Re: Ugly Truth About Life by Alphaman007: 3:37pm On Sep 04, 2023 |
CaveAdullam: 1. What you'll become in life is positively correlated with your family background and the surrounding environmental influences.
The possibility of breaking out from a vicious cycle of familial poverty is ultra-thin. There are high chances of dying poor when you are procreated from poor gametes.
2. Geography determines your destiny. The place where you spend most of your time is a factor that either helps you achieve your dreams or die a dreamer.
Poorer and undeveloped countries have the highest number of squandered talents and frustrated ambitious people. The only way these people can manage to succeed in the most reasonable ways is through:
A. Migration to a better geography.
B. Wrestling with ugly powers withholding change.
However, both are difficult.
3. People show sympathy out of pretense. Doing so makes them feel alright and not because they want to help you. When you seek their help, they degrade you.
4. You can't gain something from anyone when you lack something. Appeal to pity isn't a better strategy. People would rather help a rich man who loses some investment than a poor man struggling for breakfast.
Reason: People believe that in a short time, the rich will bounce back. But the poor man has no hope.
If you're poor, find anything to hold on to and leverage. But some do leverage vices though, which ends in trouble + it's a myopic strategy to success.
5. People don't value wisdom. The beautiful and charming fool is more appreciated than the sage. People only value wisdom when they are in dire need. But when they've convalesced, they are lured by glittering masks.
6. You're loved to the extent of how usable you are. The higher the attraction towards you is an indication of the volume of value you produce.
Ants go to sugar; moths to light bulbs; parasites to healthy hosts.
You're not loved. You're just a tool. A means to an end.
To solve this problem, start a relationship as a business and see if it will end in kindness. Except in conditions where the opposite end is starting with kindness.
7. You want favors. You want promises. Because they're shortcuts to your desires. Because they tend to make you want to work less. However, they're dangerous.
Unfulfilled promises and favors drain you more than making several trials and attempts. It blocks your ambitions and reduces your speed.
Don't make promises. Give at that moment when you can. Don't tell anyone tomorrow when you don't know if you'll see tomorrow. And don't take promises to heart.
8. Everyone you'll come across in life will tell you they have a high preference for truth. But what they are trying to say is "they have a high preference for statements, ideas or opinions that don't offend their ego". Tell them something that runs counter to their sentiments and they'll unleash hades on you.
The average person is either a con man or a liar. Probably, both.
9. Nobody is coming to help you. Don't think of any. On a deeper level, all humans need help.
You'll see help along the way. But start to walk alone.
10. Contentment is a hoax. You think you'll be satisfied if you have just one. And if you gain one, you want two to make you feel comfortable; three to have some in your reservoir; four to save for the future; five to help your loved ones; six to boost your ego; seven to make you become a ruler...it never ends.
Bonus: Gift is a form of power. Cunning people used it to bid time. They're coming to leverage that gift for a needed job. Make an exchange when necessary as it saves you from being a pawn on people's boards.
Thanks. This is gold 1 Like |

pansophist:
How exactly are you guys related?
Anyways regardless, just know that you must also be financially dependent on the EU relative for your survival. You can see it at article 3b of the directives.
And more importantly, the directive doesn't gives you immigration right in the country of his citizenship, but only if he moves and lives elsewhere in another EU country.
For example, if you marry a Chinese woman, it's Nigerian immigration law that will grant her residence to live with her husband in Nigeria. But if you live in Ghana for example, then it's ecowas law that will grant the Chinese woman right to live in Ghana with you.
It's exactly how it works with the family directive. If you read it, they state it there clearly. The directive does not interfere with national immigration policies, but only if the EU citizens lives in another EU country.
So if your uncle lives in let's say the Netherlands, and he has been sending you money every month for at least six months, then you can be considered a dependant and can join him as a family member.
You get?
Thanks for the response. He is my mum's brother.

pansophist: There is something you need to know as far as a visa/residence to Europe is concerned.
Although there are dozens of countries in the EU/Schengen zone, their visa policy is all the same. So Brussels (EU de facto capital) will release regulations (known as directives), and all EU countries will transpose them into their national legislation.
So it doesn't matter if you apply to enter Europe via Sweden, Austria, Norway, Croatia, or any countries in the EU, they will all judge you with the same set of rules.
Just the language, stamp, and minor things may be different, but the visa fees, requirements, forms, and almost everything will be the same, except for Ireland which chooses to maintain an independent visa policy, hence they are not in the Schengen zone.
So if you are applying as a student for example, then your application will be judged with the student regulations ( Directive 2004/114/EC).
If you apply for a visit visa, or the so-called Schengen visa, your case will be judged by the visa code (Directive (EC) No 810/2009).
If you applied to join a family member, then your case will be judged by the family directive (Directive 2003/86/EC).
If you have a family member with European citizenship, then your case will be judged by the freedom of movement directive (Directive 2004/58/EC).
The last one is the easiest, you will be given a red carpet to enter Europe if you have any family members, even inlaws with EU citizenship. Then it becomes a right, not a privilege, meaning that the embassy can not deny you.
So you should know which category you want to apply for, then read the directives concerning it like it's your bible, so you know your chances, and understand how the visa officer will access your case.
If you have ever seen a rejection letter, visa officers usually quote a paragraph for rejection via the directives above, so for smooth sailing, you should know how to read these legal texts.
Then you won't even spend much because you know how it goes.
Thanks for all you do boss. I have an uncle who is a Swedish citizen. Based on Directive 2004/58/EC does that count? |

If you will study, then four million is not enough unfortunately. 4M naira is about 6k euros, it won't pay for your school fees even. You need at least 8-10k euros for that.
I mean, its a huge money, but naira have fallen so badly that when converted to euros, it becomes so small. If you can increase it, then try. It worth working hard for.
Or you go for bachelor degree programs. They are usually cheaper. Lapland university of applied sciences have the cheapest degree program. At about 4k a year, even better if they give you a scholarship.
I can't recommend any course for you. But go to studyinfo. fi, and search for courses that you like, also use the filter botton to search better. But I'll give you a possibility of relocating without spending much.
Lab university of applied sciences just started a four year engineering bachelor program called sustainable solutions engineering. So you study the first 60 credits (out of 240 credits) online, if you perform well, then from the second year, you can study in Finland for free.
The university will assist you to come to Finland, and tuition fee will be free. The country needs people in that field, so they exempt that program from tuition payment.
You won't find the link to the program on their website (I don't know why), but drop your email and I'll send it to you, so you can apply. I got it through their newsletter, since I applied there long time ago when I was like you, trying to japa.
Goodluck mate. May God bless your hustle. Thanks boss. My email is yhomzsamuel@gmail.com |

Travel / Re: Finland Japa by Alphaman007: 10:17am On Mar 08, 2023 |
pansophist: The biggest misconception about Japa is the idea that you must spend millions. It is not. You can have millions to show on your bank statement, but you don't have to spend millions. It may just happen that you only have to spend on the application fee, depending on the category you applied for.
For example, if you are a family member of a European citizen, then you don't have to show your bank statement, submit proof of flight, or hotel, or that you are coming back to Naija, and the application fee is free. You are literally just going to collect a visa without stress. In fact on the Schengen visa application form, it is written there that EU family members should not fill in that area. And the visa must be issued within two weeks at the latest.
And guess what? the embassy cannot deny you. It's against the law. They can deny it in exceptional circumstances such as you have ebola that can infect the public or a serial killer with the hobby of blowing up stations and airports. Even if you have been banned from entering Europe, your status as a child, spouse, or parent of an EU citizen redeems you and invalidates the ban.
If you have any family with an EU passport, you are a lucky child. Just go and ask the embassy for your visa.
But if you do not have an EU relative, then go through school. Don't go as a visitor, you will suffer eh? As a student, you just buy time for yourself like two years or more (depending on degree length, so you can know your way around, and find a legal route to make your stay permanent. . 1 Like 1 Share |

SKhanmi: Went to check out bubble no code development, watched the first 10 crash course videos and tried to build a landing page from scratch before trying out the templates option.
Damn! I like it, unlike figma, you just drag and drop and edit in the pop up window that comes and you can easily see your changes in a test version on another tab etc... if one has a template on ground already. It saves a lot of time using a tool like this.
The templates are also good, just edit to your taste. I'm stuck with the colors though, haven't figured out whether they were first done in Photoshop/illustrator, saved as PNG files and uploaded as the background. Anyway I'll try post the 2 designs here later.
In the meantime, I have two case studies , one done by myself from start to finish, and another by a remote team I led. Already registered for another course which would add 3 more live projects making five plus I'll get to learn webflow on that also.
But....why wait till then. Let me polish up the case studies I have and my LinkedIn page & start applying, let's see what's lurking in the market for me Used to attend interviews just to learn back then. It helped though, being confident, persuasive & likeable can get you far. Most employers tend to hire the more likeable candidate but try get skills also to show.
Still have a very low tolerance level to BS though.
All thanks to nysc & workforce back then for making me angrily draw up my no 3rd time rule. Shitty employers, shitty interviews & recruitment processes, lack lustre colleagues and I'm noping out. Nigerians and normalizing madness
