You don't get it, my point is...you can't be holding a UK resident permit and still pay as foreign student hence i'm questioning that part of his comment

Chiarman u r d one getting him wrong. He's a UK resident Quite alright but he's nt d 1 dat wants to sch. He's sister that wants to sch aint a UK resident and will have to pay international student fee. And since this place's primary aim is to help us all improve and get answers there's no need to chastise any one for his answers...

jejet: This might be difficult for those of you in Bachelors program, but easier for graduate students. I never had to speak to speak deutsch to get my first assistanship (likewise my other grad students). This all depends on the quantity of money available to the Reseaerch groups. Most professor will give you a contract of abt 450 Euro/month (average of 50-60 hrs per month) as a research assistant which you can do along with your thesis if you pick a topic along their area of research.
Morever, if you do your Master thesis in a company or research institute, you will be asked to do a no-pay 1-2 month internship to introduce you to the equipments and environment after which you start your thesis. Most thesis student are renumerated (450-700 Euro/month). I am doing my thesis with one of the biggest research institute in germany and I get renumeration.

Bros pls it will do some of us good to get other info like 1. How long did u stay in Germany before you got ur assistant job? 2. Which school and what course are you studying? 3. It it a given that scientific masters students will always get assistant jobs if they comb for it?

If u won work as assistance u will need to work for long and u knw students have limited time u an work for.. It's always 20hrs a week. So na part time jobs students do..

I stand to be corrected but from what I read while doing my research about masters in germany I found that whatever work u do as a graduate assistant for a masters student is not part of the maximum 20hrs a week a student can work. Your work as a graduate assistant is regarded as part of ur academic work, but since u r there u can explain how it really works to us here for us to learn. U can read more on it on www.daad.de

aflynvir: Hi all, had my interview today! 'twas a funny day. Yeah, met @samkunze! He knows my story but not al! I was driving from Ketu at 4:00am when the car I was driving climbed the BRT demarcator, so I was delayed for 2hrs mind and used my visa fees to tow the car out of the accident! The car was still okay. I parted with 11k total to tow vehicle and agberos. Somebody thinks this is a joke. 'twas out of my visa fee! Now I got to embassy by 7:45 due to the serious mess. Our Igbo friend at the gate was about to write LATE on my appointment letter when he changed his mind that he will try whether the visa old woman will still accept me! He sent security inside. Later he got an intercom call and looked at me and said you are lucky. That was like past 9, some other people that were late had been bounced. When you are bounced, sorry! That's all! I got to reception! It was a black guy that wa there so he asked are you the one that was late, I said yes! He sha collected my rzzxodocs. Then later the old white woman came for me! REMEMBER I HAD SPEND 11k out of it. Then she asked of money I started telling stories! She shouted "what! You should have told me earlier and I've registered you. I will cancel it and that's all for your appointment and all days have been booked in October" I was calm and God gave me confidence so I her that she should pls find a way out of it, after we argued she agreed to pay for me BUT HELD MY PASSPORT AND RECEIPT till tomorrow when I bring the money and wrote a note as gate pass! She then did biometrics and interview. He wasn't smiling but I must say she saved my day! That made her nice. Then she was like "what of if everybody does the same thing will she pay for everybody" I thanked her more. He asked EXACTLY THE SAME QUESTIONS POSTED ON THE FORUM, so thanks to TOPE, GODSON and all other NL peeps! This is not fiction o! I met @samkunze! 'twas just tragedy that became miracle. I will go and pay the German lady tomorrow.

Congrats bro. I'm happy for u. Mine is coming up on thursday as we discussed and thanks for sharing your experience. I'll also be leaving ketu for VI @ 4am.

Please let us know how it turns ou when you return from the interview tomorrow. Thanks
aflynvir: as for tips check the forum, certain clues have been posted, you can checked page 114. My interview is tomorrow
Travel / Re: German Embassy And Visa by aroyem4u: 11:08am On Sep 01, 2013
aflynvir: if you are not able to open the account
before then, write the embassy, after all, someone posted on the forum that he met people who had no blocked account but went for the interview and they were granted interview but their application was put on hold, not to be processed till they pay into their account! Best notify the embassy before going and print out whatever reply they give so you can show them at the gate

thanks for your feedback. I intend to go with the confirmation slip I was given after opening the blocked account since the account no hasnt arrived. pls is there any other tip I should know so I can do well in the interview? thank you for getting back to me

Hi guys, am new here and I really need help. My situation is quite different. I have admission for a masters prog starting 14th october. First I was looking for sponsorship letter but finally, 8000k euros showed up so I went to the embassy 2days ago to start the block account opening process. But before now I previously had an appointment at the embassy for 13th august which I didn't cancel. So I was adviced by guys I met @ d embassy this week to write to info@diplo.de to aplogolize for not meeting d appointment and ask for another which I did. Today I was mailed and given an appointment for next thurs 5th sept. But I still don't have the blocked acct. Yet. Please guys how do I tackle this issue? How sort of questions should I expect at the interview? And hope the fact that I just started the blocked account process won't make them discard my visa application. Please advice me appropriately guys. Thanks
