This Emeka is a good person. To take so much time to try to add value to another man's life is commendable beyond faults. You deserve much more than 2 spoons man...

emeka55: @Luckchild, first point of correction, change that "we fell in love" to "she fell in love" because u no follow am fall in love. U just wan use am enter Germo. This ur topic is quite delicate for a public forum cos u don't know who's reading it.
First question, is she truly interested in u? And is she truly serious to come down here to marry u. Sometimes they may not really mean what they say online and could just be playing along or be acting up cos she saw ur n.ude picture.

Second question: what's her financial status? Does she have enough money to help u go through the whole process and cater for u? I'm sure at this point, her age or looks don't matter to u.

Third question: Are u ready to face the consequencies of an arrangee marriage? It's not as creamy as it looks cos she may help u get there and still help get u deported. U can only get a visa from here but the main relevant documents that would help u remain there, u have to get from there and she knows the system more than u. U would have to do what she says and serve her until she's done with u. U may try to get her pregnant to help ur status, if she decides not to have ur baby, even juju won't help u. If u get there and divorce her, na u go suffer am except u have enough money to back it up cos everything you'll have will be divided.

....MY ADVICE.....

Since u said u once applied for US student visa, it means u get brain for book and school dey ur agenda even if u no wan go am. Apply through education, get admitted to a school in Germany and have her sponsor u by providing Verpflichtungserklärung and when u get ur visa, the rest for u is puff puff & chinchin. At least with 2yrs German visa u can sought urself out.
The same time you'll spend pursuing couple/reunion visa, learning deutsch nd sewing wedding gown to get married in Ikeja high court, u fit use am get admission to 5 schools.
Finally, the choice is urs. I don try

My 2 spoons....

Ok then @ Emeka55, thanks so much. I know they have given the admission already but on the letter , it states conditional letter of admission though you know. I think, your right with the registration stuff next because, that was what they said of which at the end, they would provide me with the semester papers and also student ID card. Sent the semester contribution via my wife in France and got there on time also. Was just thinking if I would have to still wait for the docs or use the admission letter already given hence, this question.. School's HAW, Hamburg. Thanks so far anyway.

You have been admitted. The other things u stated needs to be done to make your admission permanent(registration so to speak). All of us here had to go through the payment of semester ccontribution before getting ID cards. Go ahead to apply for your visa asap and when u get to germany and make ur semester contribution and get ID card that's when u become a full student...

When I first found out about this thread I was excited. I felt for once that we have a group of youths that really wanna make a difference. But going through the last 5pages leaves bitter taste in my mouth. You know why?
1. Some people want to just apply for masters in Germany because that's all they can lay their hands on. They don't even care if the course is in line with their dreams. From their questions I don't even think they've got dreams. There is no motivation. We just want to travel abroad.
2. People keep forgetting this thread is not a consulting agency.
3. Some never get admission them don dey think about how they will settle down in germany and never come back.

Honestly, I hope someone is listening. Money doesn't fall from d ground in germany oooo. If money is ur motivation and not a quest for knowledge u r making the wrong move.
Please guys let us think about going to school to better the situation of our country. Oyinbos are not lazy. They worked and still work hard, that's why we r itching to go to their country. There is no substitute for hardwork. Please we need to change our orientation. If not there won't be a Nigeria for our own children oooooo!!!
I'm not trying to discourage anyone, I just want u to really be smart and make smart choices. If u really wanna go to sch, trust me no one here will chastise ur questns, because u will never be found asking wrong questions. God help us...

I am very happy for you and all the opportunities, am very inspired by that. I think am forgetting very one has a different agenda but my advice is always be prepared because wat worked for u might not work for others....all I know even u urself will need the language am very certain about that even if you try to ignore it now. Nice stay bro

Did u read all I wrote at all? I'm learning the lang, intensively too. U only just repeated what I said. Life is abt time and chance, my oga TopeAjis will say luck. What works for everyone is diff. Let's just stay prayerful. The point I tried to make to u is that when u talk, inthis case write, u need to be mindful of the tone. Tho there is a sense in what u said, the tone was discouraging. Please accept humble and learn. No one is perfect we r all learning everyday. Deux

Good u understood what i mean..........most people here are looking for shortcut...but the reality is different

Bros abeg no vex where u dey? Nigeria or Germany. If u r in Nigeria and u prob avnt even stepped ur foot into Germany before then the info u posted earlier today isn't fair to newbies here. Even if u attend a German language course in Nigeria u might not even be proficient in deutche until u begin to live among Germans. IT IS A BIG LIE IN MY OPINION THAT WITHOUT GERMAN LANGUAGE YOU WON'T GET OPPORTUNITIES HERE. Life is about time and chance. Whether u get opportunities or not all boils down to fate. I only just arrived 2 weeks ago tho and I am studying in eastern germany the so called not so good area but I inform u authoritatively that because of the group of people fate has linked me with here when I am ready I will get jobs to support my studies that I don't need german for. How abt that? Needless to say I even got a graduate assistant job waiting for me already in one of the institutes in my faculty next semester of which I signed precontract today. I only just came 14days ago and d only german I knew the day I came in was guten morgen!!! I met a phd student, a nigerian last week that has been here for 4yrs and my german is better than hers, in her words she doesn't need to learn d lang since she only came to study and return to nigeria. Did she not survive!!! Infact her husband came to join her and she must have really good income for him to have been granted visa. What works for everyone is different. I have taken this time to diffuse your info cos it is misleading. I imagine someone like me stumbling on this very nice thread today and seeing dis and getting discouraged from going to germany. The most important thing is ur intent. If u r really coming to school and intend to find sth to support urself, u will find help by God's grace as long as u r not lazy. Am not saying its not good to learn german. I am learning it to. Bt I haven't been denied any opportunity just yet because I don't know german. Life I repeat is time and chance...

There's something I found out that nobody else has mentioned so far on this forum. While coming to Germany for ur studies esp masters, PLEASE COME WITH YOUR LAPTOP. U can't survive here without it and if u r thinking of buying one here, u won't really enjoy it because d keypad is configured primarily for german typing. U must also start practising using google cos there will be lots of tasks that google will help u with... Dis one that some people dont even know how to use google to search for study program, just wondering how they will use it to search for research papers...

wonderbobs: Hello people, I promised to tell you guys my story this monday....so here I am, so if you guys remember last I was denied an interview with the embassy, reason being short visa processing time before my deadline, so I went home and wrote my school with little faith to them extending my deadline, I had already started making arrangements to apply next year summer. But alas the next day being tuesday I got a mail from the faculty telling me that I have been given another extension until december 1st, I was marvelled so I immediatelly worte the embassy and the next morning rushed to the embassy, as I was speaking with one of the security men I got a mail on my blackberry checked it and it was another appointment date for today. So I went home and to God be the glory, I am done right now with my interview which I must say went well, the german old lady was pleasant and was smiling with me all the while as she called me a daddys boy grin.. Not knowing that am a kpako pickin, she told me that my application is being forwarded and that I would get a reply from them soon. So this is my waiting period, and I pray my lord that started this good work will complete it.. Amen goodluck to all of us still waiting.. Thanks peeps..

Congratulations. When God says its ur time nothing can stop it. Start packing ur bags and get set to leave for Germany asap. I'm glad for ur testimony

Joexzy: good day house thank you all for the assistance you have been giving in this forum. pls i need guidance. I am trying to apply for my MSc and i wrote the school explaining to them that i had my undergraduate studies in English medium which they reply back to me that i should back it up with a letter/certificate. My question to the house is if i can use a letter from ministry of education different from the state i had my undergraduate studies.

It is not compulsory u use ministry of education but if u have to, I fink its better its d ministry of education in the state u schooled or better d fed min of edu. And dey have liasion office everywhere. Another option u might explore is to get a letter from ur university stating that ur studies was in english. U can get d letter from d office of the registrar of ur university. Its so easy just request for it and dey will give u at no cost, I suppose. I used the letter I got from my uni and d rest is history

It doesn't matter the city bro. I mean, aroyemi is in thuringa, central germany and am in saxony, east germany, places considered to be a bit unfriendly but ve been having help right from the train station to my room here. Yesterday, I wanted to buy ticket for the TRAM but the machine was rejecting my coin. A lady came out of the blues to assist me. She had to take her time to sort out the right change to buy ticket with..... My point, it doesn't matter the city joor! But make your choice.

Brother have u done tour enrolment? If you have the university should have given u a temporary I'd card by now. With that you don't have to pay for trams in ur region. Cos that is how it works here in Thuringia

Wow. Germans are really good people. U only need to have a good mind and they will open up to u. If u wanna do sciences for your masters, please come to germany. U will be made to feel like a scientist. I have been with a group of germans all day and they are very nice to me. We went visiting our church pastor in a town close to where I study and they will be dropping me in my house later in the night. Its a good country. Very accomodating people unlike what I heard about them before coming. If u get moni u go enjoy germany. And once again don't forget to apply to the studentenwerk in any school u apply for admission for accomodation. Winter is coming. For those of us that just came hope u got ur winter boots and jacket!!!

Okay. So I arrived in Germany monday night. Its been mixed feelings. Very organised society but this place isn't for lazy people at all. Please don't come if u r lazy. Academics is also tight. Am sure u won't be seeing Godson Tope and other frequent helpers often again as academics can be really demanding. You will do well to keep ur optimism cautious because it is really not rosy from what I have seen. Make sure when u apply for admision in a school you also apply for a studentenwerk accomodation simultanously.
What I have enjoyed the most dis past days is the tram bus. Realy cool. And yea, almost everyone almost everywhere is smoking cigarette....

franklysco: Has anybody booked flight online with Emirates from nigeria to frankfurt? How did you guys go about the "billing adress", when filling your master card details?
I no see naija for the selected countries o

Lemme give u a quick advice, if u r trying to pay with your master card and u don't have "token", that microchip that banks give that generate activation code, u won't be able to make payment with it. Happened to me to. D best berth is for u to book online, choose the option to pay later and then go to their office either on the island or at mma whichever is convienient for u to make payment. Immediately the ticketer will give u ur ticket and u will still get to pay d price u got it online no extra charges...

We are here to help ourselves and not spoonfeed ourselves. Its just a test of your intent. Infact PrinceOlue is magnanimus in giving u names of schools you can try out. All these info are on d internet. Pls try searching for these things urself!!! And besides if u read this page from page 1 to d last u will see that most questns u av have been answered its a questn of u being really willing to seek info. The people dat know these things know becos dey searched and did serious research. I advice u seek dem out urself... This thread is a guide and not a foreign study agency

nachie20: Mern... u guys are really helpful here. Would go enquire about the Euro fixed depo and the shares thing. Thanks Y'al. God bless you.

As a banker, the best advice me can give u is for u to invest it in treasury bills. Do u know what treasury bills are? Since u av up to 1.4m I want to believe u must have an account officer. Contact your account officer to tell u how to go abt it. Why do I discourage a fixed deposit? The reason is becos the maximum a bank will pay you on fixed deposit is 8% interest Per annum. But treasury bills can go as high as 13% if the bank u r using makes a good deal for the booking. Treasury bills are sold every tuesday. The good thing abt Tbills is that the tenure is usually 91days so after 91days u can reinvest it and make another 13% on it plus u don't pay tax on Tbills and ur money is very safe. The day u buy it is d day u earn the interest just that u will wait for 91days for it to mature. Don't put the money in a dorm account. A dorm account is just a current account in foriegn currency. The bank won't even pay u up to 2% interest on ur current account.

I booked online. The best way is to book online and choose the option of paying later when you get to the point of payment. Then you can walk into their office to pay and receive your ticket. If u go to their office to book, u might nt get a goood deal or be able to compare prices

I fink these airlines do that for online bookings, I booked on friday morning and I'm traveling on the 21st. The idea is to book your flight ticket early. Then one big secret is to target monday - wedsday. Tickets are generally more expensive between thursday - sunday

For guys still trying to fly to germany dis winter, especially if you are trying to save cost by taking any of these airlines that have stop overs, try to check the websites to compare prices in other to get a very good deal. I got Qatar airways for 83k with just 1hr 35min stop over in Doha. Almost as good as a striaght flight.

Best of luck to guys still waiting on the embassy. Hoping to read more good news this week.
