Here's a trick for sponsorship letter. It's usually difficult to get a date that is close. In this month of August, you might only see dates in November. So, you can help your sponsor to check dates on days he doesn't have to be in the office BTW 8am to 10am, free slots will pop-up for that day. So, he has to be ready to go that day. Goodluck

Oh its possible to check appointment dates from here?

Guten tag! Wie geht's sie?

I've been following this thread since 2019/2020 when I was in Nigeria and first tried to apply for German study Visa. I received my AL on time but hit a snag at the Appointment Date stage.
Then Covid lockdown hit along with endsars and the whole process collapsed for me. January 2021, I decided to go to a different country (and I've been here for the past 3 years). I got a job, started saving towards my BA and other school related expenses.
I began the process of applying for admission again last year. However, because I stupidly used an IELTS result that was o er 2 years old, my application for admission was turned down. So, I wrote another IELTS in April. Got the required score and then reapplied for admission at the same school on the 1st of May. Around the same month, I booked a visa appointment date for 9th of July and began waiting for my Admission Letter.
3rd of June, the school offered me a conditional admission. I began preparations in earnest to secure a blocked account and everything.
Fast forward to last week Tuesday (9th), I went to the German Consulate with all my documents. The VO didn't ask much questions. They just requested for my documents, asked how long my program would be for. How I intended to finance myself one year after exhausting my BA. Then they asked me to scan my fingerprints and pay the Visa fee with the remark that my documents would be forwarded and I'd receive an email letting me know if my application was successful or not. They also told me they had reserved a space on the passport which is where the visa stamp would be placed in case my application was successful. That was it.
The whole process was stress free and seamless.
On Thursday (two days after the interview), I received an Approval Mail telling me to come deposit my passport along with Health insurance within 4 weeks for Visa Stamp.
I am absolutely flummoxed that the whole consulate process could be that fast. To receive an AM for a study visa in the same week as one's appointment is something I've never heard of.
Anyway, that's my story.
I wish everyone here who's pursuing their academic luck all the best. But if I can add a thought, I'd advise you to try and leave Nigeria. This was much easier for me because I wasn't in Nigeria.

Hello, thank you for this(and congrats?!?!?),

Hey guys. I’m really confused now cause I didn’t know German appointment dates takes long until a friend sent me a link of this thread which I went through from the beginning till now. I’ve been admitted to university of Bremen and I’ve paid my semester fees because if I didn’t pay within two weeks, the admission would be given to someone else. I’m planning to apply for the deutchland scholarship so as to use it as a means of moving to category A.
I’m confused and don’t know what to do since appointment date takes so long now.
And what other things can be done to fasten the appointment date if there’s no scholarship cause have paid semester fees.
Anyone admitted to university of Bremen here please can we link up so as to serve as guide please?

Would be needing you guys advice please cause I’m scared. Was thinking I would be able to resume October this year

I think you should *aggressively* pursue the scholarships.

Ask the University if they allow deferring just in case

Not convenient. Train connection to Weiden from Augsburg takes longer time. If you have morning lectures, it would be difficult to arrive early.
If you can get accommodation in Munich, it would be best. Train connection from Munich Central Station(Hauptbahnhof) is better and you can arrive early for lectures too. From Munich you have a straight connection unlike from Augsburg. Also you have a better chance of getting a better part-time job in Munich than in Augsburg. Munich is a bigger city than Augsburg. There are numerous jobs for students.

Thank you so much for this response, meaning oth is now out of my options. I'd have liked to stay in Munich for the job oppurtunities, but I plan to squat with a relative in Augs till I balance.

Thoughts on Deggendorf, Regensburg and Nuremberg?

Here is the part 8

An incredible job by all contributors including those who ask questions and those who provide answers, job well done!

This is part 7 https://www.nairaland.com/5296943/general-german-student-visa-enquiries

The following steps will help newbies (Thanks to CassieV for the tips)

Most of the schools in Germany are tuition free even for international students, you only get to pay a certain amount as semester fees say between 100-400 euros and most times the semester fee comes with a semester ticket to aid in transportation in your city or town.
However, before you're granted a student visa, you have to prove that you can take care of your living expenses with one of the following means ;
1. Block account: The estimated living expenses for a student in a month is 720euros, when you multiply that by 12 months, you get 8640euros. This is the amount you're required to block in an already opened account with either Deutsch bank, Fintiba or Xpatrio. It is called a block account because you will not be able to withdraw everything at once, only 720euros will be released to you every month.
2. Sponsorship letter: If you have a relative living and working legally in Germany, they can get you this letter. They'll have to visit the alien office in their city and will be required to provide some documents and pay a certain fee. The letter will be sent to you when they receive it so that you can go with it for your visa interview.
3. Scholarship: This is usually the best if you have the scholarship, your visa will be granted in under 2 weeks after interview. So try and look for scholarships you can apply to.

Now that you understand the financial situation, let's go into the application process.
To search for schools, click on this link
https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/?p=l&q=&fos=0&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list
filter your search to make it easier, there are English taught courses there.
Generally, the very important documents needed to apply to schools in Germany are;
1. Transcript
2. English Proficiency
3. School Certificates (Degree, Waec, etc)
However, depending on the school, some other documents needed are as follows.
4. Curriculum Vitae
5. Motivation letter
6. Reference letters
7. GRE test
8. Etcetera.. Visit your prospective school website and find out the documents they need from you.
Note: You don't apply with your original documents, you have to make photocopies of them and Certify them in High court or a Notary public. If you stay in Lagos, you can certify at the German Embassy too. You'll have to book appointment for that.
For those planning to go for a Bachelors course, you need a 100level transcript from a university to apply for a BSc program in germany. WAEC alone will not be enough and No, OND will not do, you need a HND.

For the application proper, it is always important to go through the website of the schools you want to apply to, you'll get a lot of information form there concerning how to apply. Some schools do only online applications, some requires that you send your application documents to them by post after applying online, some you send your documents as pdf to their email address and then you get the uni assist crew.
Like I said earlier, it is important to go visit and read the websites.

When you get your admission letter, open a block account immediately(that is if you don't already have a sponsorship letter) and as soon as you get your account details, send an email to the embassy requesting for a visa interview date.
You need these to get an interview date:
1. Admission letter
2. Block account/sponsorship letter/scholarship letter
3. International passport data page(scanned)
Then your Full name and Resident address.

Prepare for your interview
Go for your interview

Hello,
I recently applied for and received the German Language Course Visa, which allowed me to take an intensive German language course in Germany for three to twelve months. The course includes at least 18 hours of lessons per week. This visa has been a great opportunity for me to immerse myself in the German language and culture, providing the legal framework to stay in Germany while I study.

I am currently enrolled in a language course at Sprachenatelier Berlin Sprachenatelier Berlin and also doing an internship internship in SEO here. Sprachenatelier Berlin has been incredibly supportive throughout my visa visa application process, helping me with the necessary documentation and offering guidance. The courses courses are flexible and intensive, catering to all levels from A1 to C2, and are available both in-person and online. They also offer a wide range of other language courses, creative classes, cultural excursions, and events. My experience here has been enriching, as I improve my German skills and gain professional experience in a supportive and vibrant environment.

wonder if its possible to change this to a regular long term visa for bachelors/masters study after completion of the german course

I've been told that applications are rejected if the appointment date is too far from the school's resumption(meaning the applicant has missed too much course content)

Best to start online so I wont miss

If your school allows the online package then you can do online and wait for your appointment, while you receive lectures.

But unfortunately most schools are scrapping it because the original purpose of the virtual class was due to COVID and COVID is over now .

Some schools are so strict that they would even state it clearly on their website that if you can't make it for either of the academic sessions (winter or summer) don't bother applying..

God knows the things Uni- Duisburg showed me last year....
