What happened? U mean she gained weight? Well dont forget she is pregnant again and most times women dont loose the baby fat if they want more babies right away. As long as they r not over weight.

Nadine20:

Just because a woman married at a size 2 doesn't mean she will remain a size 2 forever. Women have more fat on their bodies than men, so a woman can eat a piece of bread and gain a pound or two. Our bodies work in mysterious ways. Also, not all women want to be skinny. There are some women who like having some fat on their bodies. This question should have been, why do men and women get fat after marriage? Because it isn't just a one-sided view. Men get fat after marriage as well. Someone already pointed out that women get fat, because she has become comfortable and happy. She has already found her husband so she doesn't need to put in the effort to look thin. I think people in general get lazy about their bodies at some point in time, and that would include marriage as well. Some figure that their partners agreed to love them no matter what, and if that means even while they are fat then so be it.

But I think instead of men complaining about their wives weight, they should work out them. Get them motivated, not get them depressed because they think their wives are too fat. Go grocery shopping with them, get a membership at the gym together, and keep each other in high spirits to keep what they are doing up. Here in America, obesity is a real problem. Over here we like to tell people what is wrong with them until they go and change what we want them to. The biggest thing here is health. We are obsessed with having thing bodies, so that's what some of us strive for here. But like it takes motivation and dedication. Without out those two things, what you want someone to achieve or even yourself will be pratically impossible.

Well said my fiend, cos i have an ex boyfriend that was skinny for yrs and he came to my wedding looking fat and i mean fat becos he is married now too, so what does one say to that. it goes both ways a lot of times.

@babe1
trust? what has trust got to do with it? i don't want a joint account abi na by force. my parents that are smiling everyday, do dey have a joint account? some of the happy families i know today, dey don't have a joint account. i don't want no joint account. when i said she will work, i don't mean when we are still making the family. she will have our 4 kids first and of course we will get a nanny and a cook. was the point of being rich if i can't have a nanny and a cook. this is what i want and if she says she doesnt wann@ work, i will also respect that but i doubt she will be the type that will wann@ sit at home and welcome me.

@mamaput
last time i checked, there is something like a nanny and a cook. as for the job type, if she is a doctor or some kindd@ profession that can allow one being the boss, i will build her a working place. if a doctor, i build her a hospital, if a business lady, a nice building where she can do her kindd@ business wont be bad. that way she don't work all day. leaving d house at 11 and coming back at 5 aint that bad. many women do it and i don't see none fo them dying.

Oh pulez diddy. let nanny raise ur kids now. when they r grown some maybe but not that tender age when they should be bonding with their parents. mine wont see nanny or no day care till they start prek which is at 4 or 5yrs old
Family / Re: How Much Allowance Does A Wife/Woman Need? by babe1(f): 8:00pm On Jul 31, 2006
Thanks o mamaput, the bottom line is most nigerian men dont have trust in their wives, if u do we wont even be talking about giving a woman allowance , thats bull. maybe the days of our parents yes no doubt but not now. If u guys want us to work why cant we manage the money together? huh?.

like i said before, she will be working. i am not looking for any oriaku wey go just sitdon they chop money. she will be working and the allowance im giving her is not becuzz she can't buy anyfin she wants with her own money but becuzz its like a responsiblity to provide. joint account aint for me. i don't want to track any ones expenses. i pay money into her account and she can use it anyhow she likes.

i wonder what a grown woman will be doing at home jobless. makes no sense. if she doesnt expect the weekly or monthly stuff, she should go and get a job. what im i even saying sef? my wife must have a job. gone are the days when women sat their behind down and ate money like dokwugbo. she will work and i will give her money still. joint account is not for me.

Well diddy, am a grown woman and stay home mom, we decided i do that to take care of our daughter who is 9months old and i have no plans of going back to work until i have all my 3 babies, this oriaku wants that and so does dim , they dont sit behind and spend money if u can hook up em up with babies. I wouldnt stay home if i didnt have a baby but if i wanted to i can, he has no problem with that. When a man makes enough money to take care of his family, money is never an issue. Thats wha i think and am lucky mine does just that.

ummm, u know as they say, prevention is better than cure. don't want no one to buy a private jet and smile at me cuzz she knows i will still tell her i love you baby even if she shoots me. i will open an account for her instead and put any amount she so desires in there for her bi-weekly or monthly.

See diddy that means u aint gonna  give her the world and u don't trust her, make sure u marry someone u trust and u will never have that problem. I wouldnt dream of doing that to my hubby right now or ever.Like i said it is OUR money. But all the same what ever rocks your boat dude.

i will never try this joint account thingy. no matter how much she makes, imm@ give her allowance. as far as i make more than her. my wife wont sweat too much ooo. no way, she is da queen in control of ma heart. give her the world and all i need is her loving care.

U can still give her d world with a joint account. Same difference.!!!

@topic
The question is about a guy in Naija and you guys are reeling out about how you do it in the US. Can’t we be real and talk about what is obtainable at home? Is the way of the US a standard? How rampant is joint account in Nigeria for crying out loud?

One thing I know for sure is that a married man is expected to give some house keeping allowance to his wife irrespective of her work status (joint account not being a practice). However, for a man earning 50 -60k his giving about 20-30k is not bad but then, that amount can buy very little in the market and it will be dependent on the size of your family.

If you are wondering what the woman will be doing with her money, the general notion is that when the family wants to carry out a capital project the woman out of her own volition (Usual) pulls in her savings for the project

Hey i dont think it matters what country, they have banks all over the world or there r no more banks in nigeria? U can still have a joint account there i suppose. Joint account not being a practice? aint u in this together? so why cant they have joint accounts

K2DAC, They only make good money working 16hour shifts, some work hospital and agencies at the same time. It is only american nurses that u find in doctors offices. Nigerian nurses wanna work the whole city , greed
Career / Re: Do You Like Nurses/Nursing? by babe1(f): 5:57am On Jul 31, 2006
Well, i live in Houston Texas and a lot of broken homes around here becos of nurses. A lot of em are shipped from nigeria by their husbands (which i think serves those dudes right) anyways they claim when the chicas come here, after they have spent all their money sending them to nursing school, they start working non stop and now become the lord of the house and further more, MONEY becomes a big big problem, now they dont wanna share, hahaha but good for those dudes that run off to nigeria to bring em here. They claim the girls here r too wild for them and then the ones they bring here grow hornsssssssssssssssssssss.
Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Dating Indian Men by babe1(f): 5:51am On Jul 31, 2006
blueocean:

shocked And my saga continues,

I recently decided to stop seeing the Indian man that I had dated off and on for the past 3 years. I he never wanted to to include me in on outtings with his friends. His family did not know we dated and neither did any of his close friends. I had already planned on cutting him out of my life because he kept saying he was not interested in marriage. So, the break up was easy. And I decided it was time to find a man who is interested marriage so I joined a couple of online dating sites.

Last March I met this wonderful man on Match.com, who just happens to be Indian. I was not that interested at first but after I met him in person and started to talk to him more I found that I just love being around him. He is incredibly smart, funny, cute, EXTREMELY SENSUAL, and all around just fabulous. smiley

What I also find funny is that two different African American girlfriends of mine have fixed me up with Indian men. One of whom I have met already and been out with. In addition my brother and his neighbor told me that they decide to set up and arrangement for me to meet this 40ish Nigerian Medical Student whom they believe is my soul mate. Now it seems they are pooring in. grin

What I have noticed about these last two Indian men that I just met is that they are both very open about public displays of affection and they don't seem to have a problem with introducing me to their friends. Maybe it is the age. The first is 41 and the second is 39. where as the guy I was with for so long is now just approaching the tender age of 33.

I should have dropped that other guy a long time ago. smiley

And how old are u ?
