Chei,
This £ issue is become a real problem. I have promised myself not to short the market this year now I have been forced to do just that to leverage the movement of £££.

Is anyone there in the same position as me. This is one of the reason it is not good to have too much liquid. Big lesson,
I should have shipped all the money to naija on my last visit and just buy land.

The truth is 95% Of Vehicles Shipped into Nigeria for sale on Dealers Lots are Salvaged / Accidented Vehicles, Some of these cars may not be bad afterall if its been properly fixed and the buyer is made aware of the History.

Salvaged cars are relatively cheaper to buy, and Dealers cant make much profits off Non Accidented vehicles. An average buyer also wants a cheap deal, Its Simple, what you buy is what you get.

After seludously analysing the Nigerian Auto System, we decided to Initiate the Pre order arrangement whereby Buyers can get clean title and Non Accidented vehicles at Viable and realistic prices, its always worth the wait afterall.
cool cool

But these guys don't tell the buyers the full story and their attitude to customers is very bad, if you are just asking for the price their attitude is that you are poor especially if you don't wear designer agbada, they don't realise that people that have money don't always dress rich. I know many of our people wants the best for unrealistic prices, so the fault is on both side. But some people still pay top naira for the salvaged cars. I pity the man that brought the pathfinder my wife wanted to buy before, he was not educated enough to check the VIN.

Keep up the good work inspired, I didn't know that you took that much pictures. Good work,

  cool cool

@inspired,
     On the little experience I have walking the street of lagos looking for a pathfinder, I noticed that most of these dealers are not honest. They are always looking to a sell you accidented cars.
Thanks a lot inspired for the honest service, when I find honest people i keep their contacts for ever. When it comes to vehicles I shall be calling you anytime i need one.

Cheers Mate

We finally brought the car from Inspired: look here

Autos / Re: 2005 Nissan Pathfinder Se ( Sold To B A C Of Nairaland ) by BAC: 1:29pm On Feb 08, 2010
Inspired,
I have just arrived UK yesterday and I am due to fly out to Dallas on friday, I thought you forgot to take the pictures of that Pathfinder before the delivery by your staff, but as soon as I saw this post I said kudos to you.

Thanks for all your help in sourcing out this car.

To everyone still thinking of using Inspired's professional service these are my finding:

1, The car inspired wanted to sell to us before was sold 3 days before i arrived nigeria, reason is that I did not leave a deposit.
2, After that my wife went round lagos for another Pathfinder, she could not find any as clean as the one sold by inspired. But she found a not too bad one going for 3.2 million. On running the cefax report there has been a mileage rewind on it, but she still wanted it. So we offered 3 million. As soon as I land we went to the dealer to pick up the car. The dealer has managed to pull a deal with another buyer who did not do a check on the vehicle.(naughty) We looked round and we could not find anything reasonable so we went back to inspired
3, Inspired met us at maryland on monday 1st Feb. We visited his office to viewed 4 pathfinders, we found one we love and comes with a 4 WD, 6 CD Changer, 48,000 on the clock, clean title, one owner, very clean.
4, we struck a deal for 3.1 million, i tell, you Inspired's cars are reasonably priced campared to other we have seen.

5, The Quality of the car is brilliant. Inspired ran the auto check for me on his blackberry

6, Inspired has a team to people that works for him, they engraved the car, Fill up the AC gas and delivered the car to Ikorodu for me

7, Next day 2nd Feb inspired sent down his mechanic to service the car for me. (men this mechanic is good) oil change , Brake pad changed, Oil filter and all other necessary checks. The guy left my house about 8 pm in the evening. He had to run down to Surulere to get the parts as no quality parts in Ikorodu all are selling fakes.

8, The only problem i have is the fuel gauge which is a problem from Nissan on all pathfinder starting from 2005. Nissan should have done a call back to replace the sender units on the fuel pumps, but they didn't. So watch out for this one. If you buy one of these cars including the new Exterras after about 40,000 on the clock the fuel gauge will fail. The reason is that Nissan used an inferior sender unit on the fuel pump. All you need to do is replace the sender unit and the packing seal on the pump. Nissan dealer will always advise you to replace the whole pump as the sender unit cannot be sold separately, that is not true, you can get the sender unit on its own.

9, We are replacing the sender unit on my wife's Nissan today. Apart from that we have been enjoying this car. The car Jumps like a horse. Very cool AC and car drives like new, My wife has become one of the big girls in lagos now, gift from her husband,

Thanks inspired , I am been inspired.

The fools think a president elected in a democracy has the ultimate power like a soilder. Democracy cannot work in Nigeria, it is failing in britain already where you not told? Our children here are taught religious knowledge by homosextuals here, that is the power of democracy. And the osama's brothers are carry most of the vote here now. So what can democracy do? Please American is democracy not failing in you continent too?

@mikeansy,
if not for internet and forums like this, i will course myself for been in the same forum with u.
what did obj think that was right for nigeria? selecting a candidate of his choice and imposing him on nigeria and nigerias? what happened to democracy as regards to our rights to vote and be voted for?  idiots and senseless things like you also celebrated obama as the first black american president. why didn't bush do what he considered right for america instead of allowing the americans to have their votes speak for them.
for me, obj is just a confussed and wiocked idiot that is suffering from the intoxication of powers that were handed over to him by money trapped embeciles.
for yar adua, if he was fit to rule nigeria by force and false pretence then, he shld also be fit to continue.
i think nigerians now want him to even go for third term.
even in death, yar adua must be made to continue as nigerians are set to have a dead president in charge.

@chidicris

Did you go to school at all. Who told you bush did not choose his successor? Do you have television at home at all. Do you even know that difference between the leading parties in the US. May God help you ooooo
Politics / Re: Resign Now, Obj Tells Yar’adua; Protest In Lagos by BAC: 2:37pm On Jan 24, 2010
Hello, the foolish ones. Can you point at any president your have ever had in Nigeria better than Obj? Obj paid most of Nigerian debt abroad ( delivered Nigeria from slavery), do you know what that means? you are talking about fuel prices, here in the UK fuel goes up and down and there is nothing the government can do about it. Nigeria does not have working refineries so Nigeria is importing fuel like the UK.

Obj, no matter how much people hate you sir. I want to say thank God for what you have done for Nigeria. You tried your best and I will say thank you for that. The action of one man cannot solve Nigeria's problems, these problems where created during a 40years period. I am not saying you did very well , but you tried you best, other Nigerian presidents we've had cannot manage a 2 staff burger shop.
At the moment, people are praising Fashola, give them more time they will start the hate campaign.

Car Talk / Re: Drive To Nigeria From The Uk / Europe by BAC: 5:57pm On Jan 17, 2010
I am interested, I think we can start by looking for sponsorship. Santandar group(Abbey), Barclays, lloyds etc may be interested. If we can meet up in Central London, by the time we plan this for 6 months we should be able to come up with something. We may even get BBC involved.

Don't forget these companies will be interested because we are targeting a record. No group of Africans have ever done this(legally),  illegal aliens have done this many times over, but always travelling north. We can be the first Africans to do the journey south.
For those of you fed up with making money, lets get out of the daily rat race and get something exciting going.

And why can't we do it to south africa? To Nigeria is not challenging enough

@BAC

Thanks for the update,  But these Money Transfer agents in London - e.g Hackney joints (e.g DTT, Global Link, Money Line,  etc ) and those at Paddington side, still dey give N248 to £, at the best.

They have not increased to N250 yet,  I guess they are making their cuts and also charge commission. sad   .

I go wait till next week then. Cheers
Very interesting you are talking about these money transfer people. I have been looking for Places in london I can change for near black market price. I am going to research these lists of yours . The best I have been using is moneygram. And I tell you their rate can be very bad sometimes.

Thanks @babunited
Programming / Re: Why NET Languages Are Not Better Than Java Languages by BAC: 3:00pm On Jan 14, 2010
C# is the way to go my brothers. Silverlight is taking over soon. So you better go and learn C# or VB.net

It took me about 8 months to find a good C# programmer + SQL Server in london, last year. the agencies I have been working with are having problems fill those skill gap.

For those of you in Nigeria, this may not apply. But if you are in the UK, if you want to last, you better throw that Java in the bin, and upgrade you skills

You see what i mean, most nigerians have second hand brains they refuse to use, excluding me of course. When it comes to business and what makes a business succeed they always refuse to shift the position of their empty heads. Even if they get a hard knock from thier maker they still refuse to use those brains stuck between their ears.

MTN management does not care about your unemployment people, if you care about that give you rulers a ring. What would make their business increase profit year on year is their business.

To control those empty headed university educated staff in Nigeria is a nightmare to behold. If i have the opportunity to move my business out of Nigeria i will do so quick,

MTN i say congratulation,  wink
