@Munyasia Hi all, I'm new to this TOPIC, but I read your piece and I'm sorry to say that you are Mistaken, , the word "Comforter" by Jesus was translated from Greek, but its rendering actually is "another comforter like me", ,- "Parakletos". 1) It means the Comforter will be someone like Jesus, a Comfort/Guide to the disciples and to as many as will receive Him through Jesus Christ. "If you read John's account, it says that THE COMFORTER will testify of JESUS". The whole world knows that the ministry of Jesus and that of Muhammed are completely incompatible- and grossly incomparable. 2) The Comforter is also referred to as the Holy Ghost- in the NT and that is also translated from the word "pneuma", which is literally translated as "wind". So there is logical explanation whatsoever to say the Muhammed fits into this picture. 3) Jesus, also mentioned in the Gospels that the Comforter will abide with you always. and has eternal qualities. We know Muhammed's mortality, He died and was buried and cease to live. 4) The Comforter who is the Holy Ghost came upon 120 of disciples in Acts 2 And the acts of the Holy Spirit and His Comforting Ministry has begun ever beforeĀ Muhammed was born. I can't possibly imagine the connection with Muhammed. 5) In John's Epistles ( The test for the Spirit of God who is the Comforter) is that that Spirit must confess that JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD. Thats why we know that Muhammedans do not have THE SPIRIT OF GOD who is the Comforter. What more can I say? Let me say that the purpose of my response is never to criticise your point of view but to help you in getting the truth of the matter, to enlighten your mind. I must say that all of us stand to learn one thing or the other from this discussion. Regards to All |

@ Babyosisi, Yeah, I totally agree with you, one must seriously beware Hero worship, We must only follow their (men of God) examples as they follow, the example of CHRIST Quite appreciate your insight into the NT, real good ![]() |

@BABYOSISI, I hear you, All Glory be to God! I understand what you mean, but the man shows forth God's praise. Honestly, I think God has impacted his life and He (Chris) has impcated his generation. What do you think? |

@mrpataki Its not making him an idol, but an example, Whether we like it or not, that man has impacted the world, his generation, , its left for you and I to ask ourselves IF THE WORLD WILL KNOW THAT WE CAME, FOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME, THE WORLD KNOWS THAT ALREADY. @mr mayor Cash is the least thing that a man can boast of. But a man's substance is more than cash, , If it was cash, perhaps Bill Gates will come to mind, , that man carries God and has great access into God's word To me that is more than the whole world put together. If all of us can have the same revelation of God's word, then the whole world we know that JESUS IS ALIVE IN US AND GOD WILL TAKE THE GLORY |

Hi all, let me say that i was once one of those that criticised the Pastor Chris, but each time, I hear him preac, there is something that keeps telling me that he's gotten something, i don't have? Now, I have read his books, listen to his teachings and the Holy Spirit is changing my life. Let me say that the greatest thing pastor Chris is doing is not healing and miracles, BUT the preaching of the word of life, , the word that can make the sons of God from ordinary men. THIS IS THE THING, THE MAIN THING, Another thing is THAT that man ALWAYS GIVE GOD THE GLORY He says all the time;PRAISE THE LORD JESUS, GLORY TO GOD, For everyone on Nairaland, it will be good to tap into the grace this man carries, "the facts speak for themselves".The man has got something every man should have. |

Quote from Belloti The kids were wrong, she doesnt deserve to die but there are tendencies for things like that to happen when mistakes are made.. Mr Mallam Grown-Up Belloti, I again wonder why I share the same citizenship with you? Check out your analysis: she doesnt deserve to die, So you Belloti, are the BEST JUDGE OF WHO DESERVES TO DIE AND WHO DOES NOT?. So what about you? How do you see yourself, "SO YOU HAVE BEEN SO RIGHTEOUS AND PURE THAT YOU THINK YOU DESERVE TO LIVE"? What I can only say is that: May God Almighty who is so merciful have great mercy on your POOR, DARK, LOST SOUL. Because, I'm sure you, BELLOTI, would have WORSE TENDENCIES, based on your SENSE OF JUDGEMENT. People like BELLOTI only make me grieve more for late TOYIN, I will have to rest my case here. |

Quote from Belloti I agree the woman shouldnt have being killed but then i also agree if anyone decides to do what she did deliberately, then he is trying to provoke the muslim faithfuls At last, I have found one blood-thirsty learned Islamist too. Well, I'm sure Belloti just confirms that any Islamist is inherently violent whether educated or illiterate. I'm totally ashamed that a fellow Nigerian can utter this statement. Honestly, I see no difference between Belloti and Toyin's murderers. They all have the same roots. One really wonders how many people have Belloti sacrificed as a Muslim Faithful. |

****************************** Recording Success Already! I have been told that some of our recommendations from the group has been actually published on some Newspapers in Nigeria. Patricularly Nigerian Tribune of Wednesday, 4th April. I'm sure this will get the attention of well meaning Nigerians. Very soon, the Minister Education will also be contacted! So guys, we are winning this battle! I'll encourage everyone to make efforts in that respect as well. *************************************************** @The One Whatever gave the group the impression that I am a Muslim. Yeah!, I don't favour Religion and I'm no Muslim. I seek Life! And I have found it in abundance! |

@Drixie I sincerely wish all Muslims could be as painstaking, as "drixie". I just wish you can become the Supreme leader of Islam in Nigeria. Maybe Nigeria would be a better place. But Drixie, on a personal note, what change do you think you can muster. I mean what way forward do you propose to clearing this whole mess. In all your postings, you have not given one way to get out of this crisis. and curb its recurrence. This is MY OWN OVERALL CONCERN, not any form of back and forth arguement. That way, I'll now where your heart truly lies. |

The only system where ISLAM can work is a unitary system comprising only of its adherents. It makes better sense for its followers to be its victims. Its teachings are not consistent with Religious pluralism. There is a quote from the Bible concerning the generation of Ishmael: Gen 16 : 12; " And he (Ishmael) will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." Islam is only fulfilling prophecy, so don't be surprised the kind of spirit that rules over its adherents. I'm afraid that until that LIGHT shines over all the world, ISLAM WILL ALWAYS BE A PAIN TO OUR WORLD. However, that spirit of violence CAN be tamed.IT MUST BE TAMED IN NIGERIA. |

I indeed appreciate all the suggestions that have proposed an objective and praigmatic solutions to the problem on our hands. Like The One suggested, We all need to get our proposals, suggestions and remedies to the attention of highly placed Nigerians, media houses, politicians that we can reach. I think this should be a collective responsiblity. And it will be useful to hint this forum on any progress that have been made. I have serioulsy thought of getting this proposal of initiating educational polices enumerated in my earlier contributions to the personal of Oby Ezekwensili, the present Minister of Education. If anyone can reach her or knows someone that can reach her or people like that, It will take this issue to the NEXT Level. She is a veritable agent of change. If we can all work together to do this, I'll be happy that THERE IS A FUTURE FOR NIGERIA IN US. |

Thank you THE ONE and Genial. We were together also in the Univ. and she was one of those caring big sisters that would always be there for you. Yes, the line of action is something we need to fashion out. 1) I have thought of really getting this to the House and Floor of the Senate. and the personal attention of the highly enlightened Oby Ezekwensili, the Minister of Education. If any one has access to her, she is a veritable instument of change. 2) To curb further recurrence, we need to embark on a very long journey of re-educating the entire Moslem populace of the North. I have been taking up some useful discussions here and the follwing recommendation have been made: a) Introduce a subject called " Religions and Religious Practices in Nigeria" at all levels of the educational system in Nigeria even as compulsory elective courses in all the Universities. b) This should be taught not only in English but in all the Nigerian languages. c) The focus should be " Awareness of the different Religions in Nigeria and emphasis on tolerance for other religions as a result of our Nigerian brotherhood. d) Emphasis that to be a Nigerian is more important than to be a part of any religion. It should also be emphasised that severe punishment awaits those who commit crimes in the name of religion. e) All the teachers in Nigeria should be trained specially for this. f) Parents, Religious leaders, Pastors, Imams, Clerics should also take this message to their followers. **************************************************** THIS IS NOT A DAY'S JOURNEY, BUT THE RESULTS ARE SURE. But thE PROBLEM IS IN THE MIND, And only RIGHT, CONSCIENTIOUS and SUSTAINED TEACHING will educate these dark minds. Because I tell you the minds of those young students and many others are completely dark without any form of light. I welcome additions to these lines of thoughts. |

****EVEN NIGERIAN MUSLIMS ARE ISOLATED ON THIS ISSUE.****** ****MUSLIMS ALL OVER THE WORLD CONDEMN THIS ACT******** Let me make it clear that this incident has gone far and wide beyond the shores of Nigeria across the Atlantic, to Canada, the Carribean, to Spain, to Latin America and all other African countries and some International Human Rights Organisation. If some Nigeria Moslems are directly or indirectly in support of this, THEN THEY ARE ISOLATED. Even their fellow Moslems from Saudi Arabia, and other parts of the Middle East when they got the details of the case were completely shocked and I quote one " THIS IS WORSE THAN THE NIGER DELTA CRISIS, THIS IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY, YOU GUYS LIVE WITH VAMPIRES AND BLOODHOUNDS IN NIGERIA". Hear another " THE LOGIC BEHIND HAVING CONTACT WITH THE QUR'AN AND GETTING BURNT IS COMPLETELY MONSTROUS AND INSANE, WHO GAVE THEM THOSE TEACHINGS, DON'T YOU GUYS HAVE BOOKSHOPS AND LIBRARIES IN NIGERIA WHERE THE QUR'AN IS AVAILABLE FOR ANYONE, I USED TO THINK NIGERIANS ARE SMART PEOPLE". And another " Don't you guys have responsible people in that town, ,the police, ,or even the ordinary people,, If this can happen to a Nigerian, then a foreigner is completely helpless, those guys do not practise ISLAM, they should be executed?". So Fellow Nigerians, if the custodians of the Moslem faith themselves, those who are custodians of the Holiest Places of Mecca and Medina can condemn this outrightly, I still await ONE MUSLIM who will justify this. I therefore charge all the Moslems in Nigeria to teach themselves and their children, in their mosques, market places, to desist forthwith all these acts of savagery in the name of religion. See, the way this issue is spreading all over the world and here in the UK, If you are a Nigerian Muslim and especially from the North, you will have to be extra nice here in Scotland BECAUSE the silent thoughts that welcomes you everywhere is:- HERE IS ONE OF THOSE SAVAGES-BEWARE! This is not good for christians, for moslems, for Nigeria, for Tourism and for dignity of our Nigerian citizenship. They are beginning to think we are less than human beigns. YOU AND I CAN STOP THIS BY SPREADING THE MESSAGE OF TOLERANCE. |
