@Cipriani
Quote:
Some people claimed they verified with their loved ones and had called several times to confirm. Most gave me stories about who they called and gave me the confidence it was genuine. I just feel bad things turned out this way.

But why do these people refused the counsel of people like justwise, etc? I am open to sensible arguement. If they will attack justwise, it should be with genuine, and tested evidence not just hear say and besides, cipriani, from your profile i believe u are not in nigeria, (except otherwise), do u believe from the bottom of your heart that this is genuine?

Quote:
The government has really failed us. Immigration, Police Force, EFCC, Human Trafficking Agency and the likes all failed us. Some people claimed they saw immigration officers come to visit Crystal Service, what did they actually come to do is what I don't understand? Some claimed Anti-Human Trafficking agents were there to confirm the legitimacy of the program and am still surprised things turned out like this. There are so many unclear issues which may remain mysteries to everyone for a long time

It's a shame that this is what Nigeria has turn out to be and what fate do the young generations have? Can individual / organisations like nairaland and other blogs do anything about this? We may feel sorry or laugh for the people that fall this victim today. It may be my painful turn or yours tomorrow!

Well, this is terribly bad. Nothing can really be done about the past. My heart goes to everyone who has been negatively affected by this. However, few lessons to learn for the future:

1. In this present technological age, ensure that you confirm whatever anybody tells u before parting away money.

2. There is nothing wrong to call Canadian embassy in Nigeria or speak to anyone in Manitoba to find out the validity of this claim. How can CS helped 3,000 or 8,000 all at once, which country is ready to accept that no fron non EU in the present economic recession in the west?

3. Also, I simply find it difficult to believe that none of the 8,000.00 people (do have family in Canada, or a more enlighten person) to confirm the validity of CS claim. Is the situation so desperate that I should believe an outsider (CS) than my own blood brother or relative who can tell me straight white or black?)

4. Out of just being curious into the role of nairaland in this matter, (not saying that nairaland must do this), but can't nairaland sort of act as a good mediator to verify whatever  claims by CS and other posible fraustars in future? I believe nairaland is now up to a standard to officially write to any government in any country and verify claims.

5. My point is, if the government has failed us in nigeria, shouldn't free media like nairaland and other blogs do more to earn the trust of people that come here for information? Though not a regular blogger, i am more than  happy to suppoort in any capacity I can to verify claims and prevent  possible scams like this in future. Nigeria should not be a free land for scammers to scoops hard earn money from 'simple hearted' nigerians. We can all join hands to support the most affected.

Many thanks.

Though I'm not a grad at OOU, but i think there is no hard and fast rules about this when applying at BHC. You are not expected to manufacture certs if it's not yet released. Simply add an explanatory note that you have completed your degree, you have been accepted an Bleep Uni in UK and admissionn was issued based on your transcript. If you want to make everything perfect, get your department (where you completed your first degree) to back you up with a letter confirming certs is to be released later.

I hope this help.

All the best.
