Good move. This is what I have been suggesting.

The law should also clearly forbid any political party from fielding a candidate from a geopolitical zone that has already produced president during the present democratic dispensation until it is the zone's turn to produce a president.

Kindly remove 'cat' from that your list. Cats are independent, sacred animals with a mind of their own. They can't be forced or influenced in anyway to do such disgusting things. Only dogs can do that.

By the way, the actress who interviewed the lady need to be invited by the police or relevant authorities for questioning. There is a lot of questions the interviewer need to provide answers to.

Akpabio did Dangote tell you to stop fertilizer importation? Fertilizer is not cement and shouldn't go the way of cement. Let there be competition in the market. If Dangote Fertilizer is cheaper those who import will buy from him.

No sir. What we can produce in Nigeria govt must do everything to discourage or stop its importation. Otherwise the country's manufacturing sector will crumble and our local currency weakened.

The best way to encourage competition is to create enabling environment for others who want to venture into manufacturing too to do so, not by encouraging unbridled importation

Premature celebrations.

Some people just never seem to learn.

Without seeing the so called bill and where things will lead, some are already rejoicing wildly. These people have learnt nothing and forgotten nothing.

This was exactly the same way some people rejoiced when fuel subsidy was "removed" 12 months ago with zero planning for the fallout. The same people were giddy with joy when exchange rates were "unified"...again with zero plans made for effects on the larger economy.

Twelve months later...how's that chronic, double digit inflation and extreme exchange rate volatility coming along? undecided How does it feel to listen to the economy scream?

With all the deception and hypocrisy this administration is justly notorious for - some naive people are full of praise - over a so called bill they haven't even seen? undecided

Nigerians will learn.

Well spoken

Politics / Re: Minimum Wage: FG Offers ₦‎62,000 After Hours Of Meeting by bitbillionaire: 8:58am On Jun 08
LoL. The agreement mumu NLC signed with the FG was that the FG would agree to pay any amount above 60k. Meaning that NLC would be willing to accept ANYTHING above 60k even if it is one Naira that is being added. And the FG has fulfilled its own bargain!

If the NLC representatives were serious and wise they sould have made sure that the amount below which they would not accept is also stated in the agreement not just that it should be above 60k.

Well, if the so called father of the child voluntarily refuses to play any role in the life of the child since birth, there is nothing wrong in the mother giving the child her own surname. Who knows, may be due to mutual agreement the man was just meant to be a sperm donor!

It would only be an issue if the father have been playing active role in the life of the child and contributing to his welfare and the mother insist against the father's will on giving the child her own surname. That would be an aberration; and any man who take that lightly is not fit to be a man.

17. Anti-corruption

Anybody arraigned before the court by EFCC, ICPC and by any law enforcement agencies, the accused person will be regarded as guilty, unlike the present situation where he is innocent until proven guilty.

Eventhough I support over 80% of the recommendations but that number 17 is the most idiotic and silly stuff I have ever heard.

What is the point of prosecuting somedody, then, if the person is automatically guilty of a crime simply because EFCC and co. accuses him of such. The implication of this is that if the government of the day sees you as a threat all they just need to do is send EFCC after you with some false accusations and you are gone! Automatically guilty without trial!

There are many good reasons why the accused person should remain innocent till proven guilty by the court of law.

I will advise these people to retract that number 17 as it portrays them dumb folks

2. If caretaker committee are illegal (which I think they are) and the tenure of LG chairs is 3 years while their elections is to be conducted by SIECs, what happens in a case when the elections have not been conducted while their tenure has expired? Who runs the LGs then?

I am wondering:
1) why would the state electoral commission allow the tenure of the incumbent LG chairman to end without conducting fresh election. Is there no law forbidding that?

2) is there no law that makes provision for who should run the affairs of the LG after the tenure of the incumbent chairman? I would be surprise if there is none. Anyway, in such circumstance, I think the most senior LG official there should be appointed as acting chairman till the election is conducted. And, of course, this should be backed by law. So if there is no law backing this up I think our law makers still have some work to do

Baba, even if you are willing to pay me billions, once I know you are into yahoo there is no way I would allow you to rent my house.

Everything Shouldn't always be about money, money, money. A yahoo boy in your house can bring a curse upon the building and by extension the landlord himself. Greed and lack of being contented is what is destroying this country.

A landlord who rent out an apartment to somebody he knows to be into yahoo is an accomplice and should be arrested along with the yahoo boy.

If Nigeria can have at least 80% control of its land and sea borders and effectively monitor what is happening in those borders, I believe about 60 to 80% of our security challenges will be tackled effectively.

While your mates are gathering money and positioning themselves to invest in real estate, hospitality and tourism businesses, shipping and transport related business, etc, along that Lagos - Calabar coastal road dey there dey ask plenty questions you hear?

CheapHomes1:

half of what you wrote was on what the project is and what it entails which does not in any way answer the questions I asked which are "what is the benefit of the lagos-calabar coastal highway to nigeria? how is the road futuristic and innovative?"

you said that the coast highway will "stimulate economic growth, facilitate trade, and enhance regional integration by improving connectivity and reducing travel times between key economic zones."

can you pls explain how the coastal highway will accomplish this? are these activities not presently happening? are there no roads that presently link or provide connectivity? pls what is the state of those roads?

you also said that the road will have "far-reaching socio-economic benefits, including the creation of employment opportunities, the promotion of tourism, and the enhancement of accessibility to essential services for communities along the route."

this is quite ambiguous. can you pls break it down? what are those employment opportunities the road? how will the road promote tourism? are you saying that without this road, tourism will not be promoted? what are the essential services that this road will provide access to?

when you say "The Lagos-Calabar coastal road project holds the potential for unlocking the hidden productivity of the country’s coastal regions and hinterlands. Improved transportation infrastructure reduces travel times, lowers transportation costs, and enhances market access for businesses of all sizes. This, in turn, spurs investment, stimulates trade, and catalyzes economic diversification", you are just repeating the things you said earlier but in different words.

what are the hidden productivity of the country's coastal regions and hinterlands and help tie them to this road lets see how the road will unlock them.

how will the road achieve this...."Moreover, by integrating remote communities into national and regional supply chains, the Lagos-Calabar coastal road bridges the rural-urban divide, fostering inclusive development and reducing income disparities."

are there no existing roads between Lagos and Calabar that can achieve the goal you stated above?

how will the road foster "inclusive development and reduce income disparities"?

Cross River State will surely reclaim its lost glory. This I have seen. The state has the potential of being as prosperous as Lagos State; if not more prosperous. They just need massive investment in education, human capital development, critical infrastructure and industrialisation.

what is the benefit of the lagos-calabar coastal highway to nigeria? how is the road futuristic and innovative?

The Lagos-Calabar coastal road project is a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing transportation networks along the southern coastline running from Lagos through the eight coastal states up to Cross River.

The project involves the construction of a modern road spanning approximately 700 kilometers, connecting Lagos to Calabar while linking major urban centers, industrial hubs, and seaports along the southern coast.

The road starts from Lagos, the Lekki Deep Seaport, and runs through Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom.

With the approval of a N1.06 trillion contract for the construction of the first phase of the coastal road, covering 47.47 kilometers dual carriageway of five lanes on each side and a train track in the middle,

The project will stimulate economic growth, facilitate trade, and enhance regional integration by improving connectivity and reducing travel times between key economic zones.

Additionally, the project is expected to have far-reaching socio-economic benefits, including the creation of employment opportunities, the promotion of tourism, and the enhancement of accessibility to essential services for communities along the route.

The Lagos-Calabar coastal road project holds the potential for unlocking the hidden productivity of the country’s coastal regions and hinterlands. Improved transportation infrastructure reduces travel times, lowers transportation costs, and enhances market access for businesses of all sizes. That university is owned by a religious institution. You and I know that such schools always have very high moral standard. Such behaviour must be against their standard.

By the way, higher institution is a place of learning and character development. It is not a place for unlimited freedom and immoral, irresponsible behaviour.
