He's actually right. Our Air Force is in a very bad state. And instead of attending to issues like buying modern aircrafts we're busy commissioning gyms.

Bro, the Nigerian Air Force is in a better state than it ever was in the past few decades.
The gym you are complaining about keeps personnel fit amongst other things.
In case it didn’t cross your mind, the development of human fitness & capability is essential to flying the “modern aircrafts" you so much want–
you can’t underestimate the need for physical fitness, so if you do not have fit, well trained, well catered for personnel who is going to fly your modern aircrafts?
Would you rather have an overweight pilot getting into a fighter cockpit to fly and then the environment becomes uncomfortable, develops some kind of ailment or sickness while flying…..abi you think say na to drive 504 or gongoro?
Would you rather have an unfit & obese personnel finding it difficult to move around ground equipment?
Would you rather have an unfit personnel handling weapons?
We can go on and on talking about the benefits of having a “gym”

If you do not know, you just don’t acquire modern or any planes for that matter and for the sake of it without the needed support (human, structural etc), otherwise the planes will be grounded.
Personnel welfare is just one key aspect to getting better results – the happier & fitter the personnel around his equipment, the better the results will be - its common sense and practice.

And for those complaining about some stuff they see the NAF commissioning which are not “modern aircrafts”, FYI they are needed to support the entire system and be self-reliant, and for the guy talking about sewing machine factory, sorry to disappoint you, the NAF has a sewing factory for uniforms etc tongue (fantastic idea…for those who know)

I see a lot of ignorant comments on this thread, but hey…..everyman to his own, whatever floats your boat, but it helps to ask questions and think deeper.

We just don’t criticize without understanding some underlying facts – do not let emotions overcloud your judgement.

As stated earlier, the NAF is in a better state than it was decades ago and hopefully gets better equipped, well trained, with fitter personnel to handle “modern aircrafts” wink

Have a good day and support our Armed Forces

AK 47 and the curved butt has terrible precision. It needs to be upgraded.
Wait make I enter my secret weapons arsenal for under my house. I dey go join the fight. angry

FYI, its not only the SSS that use the Tavor in Nigeria.
The special forces (amongst others) of each arm of the services use the Tavor.
Below are pictures of the Nigerian Airforce and Nigerian Naval personnel with the Tavor.

Nigeria!!!! always wasting vital resources, the US would have keep that guy and use him. That i know this guy too well, when i was in training in the Directorate of Military intelligence, trust me that guy is a wonderful material.i would have suggested the government adequately use him to strengthen its security apparatus. What a waste!!!

Wonderful material? are you for real? the guy abused his office, committed a crime, tried by the law court and found guilty, period.
FYI there are a thousand and one DMI operatives better than he was.

Nairaland / General / Policemen In Show Of Shame In Lagos by boodee: 4:59pm On Nov 12, 2010

Policemen in show of shame in Lagos (Nigerian Compass) Tunde Ogundeji

POLICEMEN are out in every society to keep the peace, and maintain law and order. But the story was different in Lagos yesterday, as three policemen engaged in a brawl at Ajegunle, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, endangering the lives of hundreds of road users with their AK 47 rifles held carelessly as they exchanged blows.

People were seen scampering for safety, and nobody could tell what caused the fight, which got so messy that the policemen wrestled and dragged themselves on the ground. The fight caused a heavy traffic build up that lasted for hours on both sides of the road.

The three fighters are corporals serving in the elite Mobile Police Force. Some motorists and hawkers, who could have intervened, were afraid of the guns they were wielding while the fight was going on.One of them said: “We don’t really know the cause of the fight.

We just saw them fighting. Some of us tried to move in to know the cause of the fight but because of the way they they were holding their guns while still fighting, we were afraid of a case of accidental discharge.“It would have been better if they had handled the matter more maturely than to engage in a street fight.”[/right]
