The 2019 JAMB mock examination earlier scheduled to hold on February 23rd, 2019 will obviously no longer hold as scheduled majorly due to the fact that the Presidential general election has been moved to that date. As you may have known, there will be no free movement on that day which is the reason JAMB will not carry on with the mock exam on that date.

At this time, JAMB is yet to make an official statement on the postponement and give a new date for the 2019 mock exam. However, we believe before the end of this week, JAMB will do so.

The main exam comes up March 16th – 23rd, 2019. How ready are you? Don’t forget that adequate and smart preparation is the keys to exam success.

Two persons in possession of 14 sacks containing ballot papers were arrested in Kano State, today. Masked Fulani — Borono robbers arrested. She took me straight to her room. She has kept a plate of rice and
meat for me. She said “that is the food I’m supposed to eat, but I decided to eat the remnants from the pot and
keep this for you.”. Haba, u shouldn’t have done that now, why starving yourself? I said. She replied, you deserve more than that, infact you deserve everything in this world. For you to tutor me free of charge,

here at nights, u deserved everything. I was marvelled. I never knew I have done something that important.
After eating.. I marked her previous assignment.
We did little of mathematics till 11:10pm. Sikirat said she is tired
and wanted to have her bath then go to bed. I said ok. Just infront of me, sikirat untied her wrapper from her waist and removed her top. Oh my
GOD!!!, she didn’t wear anything inside. For the first time, I saw
the real beauty in sikirat. She was so endowed with a average b---m but not up to that of janet. The Bottom
were so shaped and the tips were pointed. My d--k resurrected again but I had to stylishly cover it.

We laughed as she enters the bathroom to shower. In less than 6
minutes, she was out, tieing a towel and still saw me fully
dressed in my jean trousers and roundneck. Oga teacher!, is this
how you want to sleep with your dress on? She said. I’m ok like this, I replied.
She said “no oooo, there is heat”. She came closer, unbutton my shirt, removes my singlets, in the process, her towel loosed. OMG!!, sikirat is naturally beautiful without cloths.
She looks sexier and younger. I don’t know where the courage came from. I
pull her head closer and kissed her. She responded an kissed me

ASUU SUSPENDS NATIONWIDE STRIKE

ASUU has suspended its nationwide strike, after three months of industrial action.

According to Channels Television, the National President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, announced this on Thursday during a press briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress complex in Abuja.

The striking lecturers took the decision after a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.

TVC has earlier reported that, the federal government and the striking University teachers have finally signed an agreement, raising hope of an end to the three months old strike.

The meeting came hours before Professor Ogunyemi announced the decision of ASUU to suspend the strike

ASUU STRIKE UPDATE: 80% of ASUU members vote to continue the on-going strike

No fewer that 80% of members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have voted for the continuation of the ongoing nationwide strike.

It was gathered that over 200 members of the University of Ibadan, UI, chapter of the Union who attended the congress voted for the continuation of the strike while a little above 50 voted for its suspension with conditions.

According to one of the ASUU members, the members who voted did not even consider the third option which states that the strike should be suspended with conditions. Speaking after the referendum, Dr. Deji Omole, Chairman of the University of Ibadan Chapter, said the referendum was conducted to know if the union should end the strike or not.

ASUU strike: NANS threatens to boycott, disrupt polls
THE National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS, yesterday, threatened to boycott and disrupt the 2019 general elections should the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and its Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, counterpart and the Federal Government fail to reach an understanding and call off the ongoing strike.



ASUU embarked on indefinite strike on November 5, 2018 to drive home the Federal Government’s alleged failure to honour the Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, earlier signed between the union and the Federal Government.

NANS Zone B, comprising tertiary institutions in the South East and South South, at a peaceful demonstration at the Delta State end of the Niger Bridge, barricaded the expressway to register their displeasure over the lingering strike and called on the federal government to either negotiate with ASUU, or forget about the elections.

The protesting students, drawn from the eleven states of the South South and South East, were seen wielding placards of various inscriptions such as, “ASUU/ ASUP strike, Another way to increase crime”; “ No resumption, no election”; “We are tired of endless negotiations”; “End strike now”; “NANS Zone B wants Her Students back on campuses”; Nigerian Students have bright future; do not truncate it with strike”; “NANS Zone B says no to strike” and “Save education, end strike now”

ASUU Strike Update Day 86: ASUU Receives NUPEMCO Licence, To Meet FG Again This Week
It has been reported that the Academic State Union of Universities (ASUU) on Monday received the certificate of operation for the Nigerian University Pension Management Company (NUPEMCO) from the National Pension Commission, the regulatory agency for the country’s pension companies. This was disclosed by the President of ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi, in a short message sent across to members of the union.

He disclosed that ASUU received the certificate at about 11:20 a.m on Monday.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has disclosed that the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU may end this week. The Minister disclosed this during a briefing with newsmen on the proliferation of illegal institutions in the country, over the weekend in Abuja.

Malam Adamu said: “Perhaps by next week I hope the ASUU strike will be over.”

30 people die in a multiple new year road accident in Ibadan

With just a few minutes to ring in the new year, 30 lives were reportedly lost in a road accident on Monday night near Bola Ige International market along new Ife-Ibadan expressway, Gbagi, Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

According to reports, the victims were crushed to death by an oncoming trailer from Iwo road axis which rammed into the commercial buses by the entrance of the market. The Gbagi accident which occurred around 11:45pm, led to heavy gridlock which saw vehicles enroute Ife from Ibadan stranded for several hours.

Although, no eyewitness could say if the trailer suffered a brake failure or if the affected buses were parked on the road, sources confirmed that only two people initially survived the accident and many people were taken to a nearby hospital while other passengers were said to have died immediately.

A Toyota Camry and Nissan Micra cars were also said to have been crushed by the trailer. Sources, however, hinted that many of the victims included people going to churches for the cross-over service at Iyana-Agbala and Egbeda Area of the capital city. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly raping his neighbour’s daughter.

It was learned that the incident happened at about 10p.m., Saturday, at Obawole area of Ifako Ijaiye Lagos, while the victim (names withheld) was sleeping in her parents’ apartment.

It was gathered that the victim’s father had gone out, leaving the key to their apartment at a designated place.

Election 2019 : Highlights from yesterday’s Vice Presidential Debate

So it was an enthralling event as several Vice presidential candidates, including Yemi Osinbajo of the All Progressives Congress and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party debated today at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.

Present for the debate were Khadija Abdullahi-Iya, the vice presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria, Ganiyu Galadima of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria and Umma Getso of the Young Progressives Congress.

On unemployment

Obi said “On the issue of unemployment, which is worsening, we can see that millions of our children are out of school. You can see from a study that there is a straight link between SMEs and growing your economy, and we’re not supporting our own SMEs very well.

“If you look at what China has been able to do with SMEs, SMEs in China is contributing to 60 per cent of their GDP. And 60 per cent of China’s GDP is 7.2tn (dollars), which is 18 per cent of Nigeria’s GDP.

“China today, using the same SMEs, is guaranteeing 10 million jobs annually. Half of this year alone, China has produced 7.2 million jobs, which is over 40 per cent of their target. Within the same period, Nigeria lost four million jobs.”

On jobs

Obi said, “That is why we have issues of insecurity, instability and all sorts of things we are witnessing today. We now live in a country where we have the highest number of poor people in any nation — 87 million and growing six per cent every minute.

“Our country today has the highest number of school children in the world. Our HDI (human development index) has dropped from 152 to 157. Our global competitive index has dropped from 124 to 127.

“In terrorism, we have moved from seven to number three just behind Iran and Afghanistan. Our inequality has worsened. Our misery index has worsened. Stress index now places us at 148 of 149. These are hinged on two things from studies and that is on education and unemployment.”

On corruption

Obi said, “It is not that you cannot fight corruption but you can fight it more aggressively while addressing economic issues. For example, in 2015, unemployment was 24 percent. Today, it is 40 per cent. In 2015, we attracted $21bn in Foreign Direct Investment but we attracted only $12bn last year. Our GDP was $500bn in 2015 while per capita was $2, 500 today it is under $1, 900.

On fuel subsidy

Obi said, “If you look at our stock market, we have lost over N2tn in one year. So, that is not a policy. You’re just fighting corruption, you are not creating jobs. You cannot shut down your shop and be chasing criminals.”

“What we are subsiding today is inefficiency. If you get it right, the prices still come down. There is no way a country can have a budget of N340bn for health, which translates to N5 a day for (each of) its citizens, and then pay a trillion for subsidy.

“There is no way you can have an education budget, which is the most critical component of the development at over N400bn and you’re paying subsidy of a trillion. It is a waste. You need to reverse it because you’re not dealing with the engine that will drive your economy tomorrow.”

On corruption

Osinbajo said ‘If you allow criminals to steal all the inventory in the shop, there will be no shop. That’s the problem. And what has happened in Nigeria in the past 16 years is what the World Bank told us; that the major cause of our poverty is corruption.

“That is what we’ve been told. So, let me say there is no way we can minimise. You can’t minimise corruption; if you minimise it, we run the risk of completely — in fact, the argument is lost.
“We cannot do what we want to do unless we are able to minimise corruption or eradicate it completely, which is what we’re trying to do.”

On fuel subsidy;

Osinbajo said, “the NNPC is the sole importer of petroleum. So, it is from the balance sheet of the NNPC that the subsidy is being taken. Now, let me say that if today, you are to remove subsidy, petrol price could go as high as N220 per litre or higher. There is no country in the world, not even the wealthiest ones that don’t run some type of subsidy or the other.”

She was the representative of women in the Olubadan-in-council which has 11 members. She ascended the position in August, 2007 and was installed on October 19th, 2007.

University Of Ilorin Student Commits Suicide After Failing Final Year Project

Adigun Olawale Emmanuel who happened to be a 27-year-old student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has committed suicide, The Nation reports.

The late Olawale was said to have failed in his final year project last session and was made to repeat the current one before his death.

The deceased, from the Faculty of Agriculture, was believed to have died after he drank a pesticide, Sniper.

It was gathered that he had a grade of Second Class Upper Division but that with the failed project he would necessarily have to drop to Second Class Lower Division.

In a social media note left behind, the deceased indicated that he had been accused of ‘copy and paste’, in research his works.

Some neighbours claimed the deceased had been subject to depression since he failed to make the last graduation list of the institution.

The incident happened on Thursday night at Oke-Odo, a student-populated area in Ilorin, Kwara state, but the corpse was only discovered on Saturday after neighbours noticed a foul smell oozing out of his room. When the door was broken, his bloated body was found on the floor.

Checks indicated that the deceased had communicated his intention to end his life to a female friend who however pleaded with him to have a rethink and face the challenge like most other men in life.

Records from his social media interactions, the deceased had uploaded a picture of the Sniper on his WhatsApp page at about 5.14 pm, some two hours after he had lamented online about his situation to his friend.

He had opened the conversation at about 3.39 pm when he said in short statements: ‘same research work. He said I did copy and paste. Ever since then, things changed from bad to worst. Am in a deep mess @the moment. My life don tire me. I feel like dying. I wish I can sleep and not wake up again”.

His friend however responded with words of encouragement, “Don’t give up bros, it gets better”. And as if he had accepted the admonition, the deceased had then responded, “I pray so, Thanks a lot for your concern. I appreciate a lot. May God continue to bless you. Amen.”

Having uploaded the Sniper picture, his friend apparently became frantic and pleaded with him not to take any wrong step. The friend said: “Wale abeg, calm down. Abeg.....

BREAKING!!! ASUU FINALLY SPEAKS ON WHEN THE STRIKE WILL BE CALLED OFF

National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Abiodun Ogunyemi, in this exclusive interview by Tribune’s TUNBOSUN OGUNDARE, speaks on reasons the ongoing industrial action by the union is inevitable and the union’s refusal to call it off until the Federal Government yields to its demands.

In September, the Federal Government claimed to have released N20 billion funding for universities, what is your reaction to that?

The N200 billion is not an issue at all. The government ought to have released that money latest by October last year and the amount served as a mark of commitment towards the implementation of the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with ASUU in that year. In that MoU, government agreed to massively inject funds into the public university system in the country. This is as a way of re-vitalising the system. That is why we called that fund, which is a total sum of N1.3 trillion, a re-vitalisation fund. Between 2013 and 2017, government released only N200 billion, leaving out N1.1 trillion. So, when ASUU engaged them last year and we told them that they had abandoned the agreement, they said no. And that to show that they had not abandoned it, they would release N20 billion immediately while looking into a way of mobilising fund for the balance. That was the N20 billion they were making noise about that they released many months after. So towards raising the N1.1 trillion, government raised a seven-man team and they worked for about two months or submitted their report. But up till now, government has kept the report in the cooler. In October last year, if government had released N20 billion, we expect them to release a stretch of N220 billion on yearly basis and will do that for five years.

At times, people get confused on various terminologies used concerning this FG\ASUU faceoff. Sometimes, you say 2009 agreement, at another time, we hear 2013 MoU and yet another, you refer to the 2017 Memorandum of Action (MoA), what are the differences?

The 2009 agreement is the originating document. That is where we have four major issues outlined. They are centred on funding, academic freedom and university autonomy, conditions of service, and other related issues.
