Phones / Re: Saka 'Ported' From Etisalat To MTN: The True Story Emerges by CCampbell(m): 11:28am On Apr 25, 2013
This is by Greg Odutayo of Royal Roots.

THE MAKING OF SAKA: JUST FOR THE RECORDS

I did not want to talk about this but for the records, the character Saka was not created by any advertising agency for etisalat. Saka was created by Hafiz Oyetoro, Gbenga Windapo and myself for a Royal Roots TV series "House A-Part" as far back as 2004 and the series won best TV comedy in Nigeria as far back as 2005. Long before etisalat was in Nigeria. New seasons of the series currently run on Silverbird Television every saturday morning 10.30 - 11AM.

Also Hafiz Oyetoro as Saka with the series House A-Part only recently won the African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Comedy in the Male category.

The advertising agency only adopted the character Saka for etisalat. They did not create the character. Just setting the record straight for prosperity...

On Hafiz, he is one of the most humble and down to earth personality in Nollywood today. Obviously one of the most talented too. So people, stop judging...

Enough said....

Politics / Re: Jonathan Will Lose 2015 Election — Asari Dokubo by CCampbell(m): 11:23am On Dec 16, 2012
If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones. Funny how a villain like Asari Dokubo has now seen the light after enjoying the largesse of the GEJ-led govt. He has since lost all political relevance even amongst his own people and is actively seeking ways of boosting his ego and persona. There is some element of truth in his statements though.

feminine A: What I still don't understand is how drugs destroy some people and the other people are just normal
Same as cigarettes. Some have smoked all their lives and still look quite healthy. People react differently to toxins, it's in our biology.

Sports / Re: Nigeria (2) Vs Tunisia (2) on Sunday 6th September by CCampbell(m): 7:37pm On Sep 06, 2009
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, i restate my take on this whole issue:
1. The Nigerian team, as presently constituted is not even among the top 10 in Africa and we shouldn't delude ourselves any further!
2. Our national sports policy needs some re-direction. We need to FORGET ABOUT FOOTBALL FOR AT LEAST A WHOLE YEAR and focus on the so-lesser sports. You'd be amazed at how much progress we can make in sports like chess, table tennis, athletics etc given the crazy amounts spent on sponsoring football.
3. The entire team should be lined up and given 24 strokes of koboko , Amodu to receive 48!
4. Kanu is gone. He should tow Okocha's line and retire NOW!
Sports / Re: Nigeria (2) Vs Tunisia (2) on Sunday 6th September by CCampbell(m): 2:38pm On Sep 06, 2009
Make no mistake about it: It won't be easy at all cos the Tunisians will definitely defend en-mass and hope tocatch us out on the breaks. But i believe we have the a bunch of players eager to make a name for themselves, particularly Ogbuke, Ikechukwu, Nsofor, Adeleye, Adebayo and the ever reliable Osaze. I'll be going with victory for Nigeria no doubt but the real battle as far as i'm concerned is in getting an outright win in Nairobi.

Aloy.Emeka, u obviously missed my point. READ AGAIN AND LETS SEE IF U CAN MAKE ANYTHING OUT OF IT! I was not impressed by the 3-0 'walloping' as u termed it cause most of the players are averagely 30 yrs.
Sports / Re: Nigeria(0) Vs Cameroon(2) On Wednesday 28th January(AYC Semifinal) by CCampbell(m): 9:58pm On Jan 28, 2009
hope say all una eye don clear now! wanting to reap without sowing. i reiterate: lets forget about football completely for 4yrs and pump in resources to the so called lesser sports and see if we wont get results! SHAME ON THE ENTIRE TEAM AND NFA. ALMOST ALL OUR COACHES ARE TECHNICALLY BEREFT AND A BUNCH OF ILLITERATES WHO CANNOT EVEN WRITE A PROPER MATCH REPORT! NO APOLOGIES.
Sports / Re: AYC: Nigeria(3) Vs Cote D'Ivoire(0) On Sunday 25th January by CCampbell(m): 12:00pm On Jan 26, 2009
Our grand deception continues! It is truly sad since we are not even interested in genuine youth development. My suggestion: Forget about football for a while and concentrate on the so called lesser sports like chess, tennis, badminton etc. Lets see wot ace Ndanusa has up his sleeves.

Adverts / Candy Kids Chess Academy: Building A World Of Smart Kids! by CCampbell(m): 10:50pm On Jan 23, 2009
Candy Kids Chess Academy is on a mission to take chess to schools because it directly contributes to academic performance. Our goal is to increase higher level thinking skills, advance math and reading skills and build self-confidence through chess.

Chess is a classic game of strategy, invented more than 1,500 years ago in India. In the centuries since its invention, this noble game has spread to virtually every country in the world. It has also received endorsement by many educators, ranging from Benjamin Franklin to former U.S. Secretary of Education, Terrell Bell and our very own Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka. It's not just about Kings, Knights and Bishops, but rather quadrants and coordinates, thinking strategically and foreseeing consequences. It's about lines and angles, weighing options and making decisions. It’s about critical thinking. All over the world, chess is proving to be the perfect educational tool. The word is out: Chess, methodologically taught, is an incentive system sufficient to accelerate the increase of IQ in children of both sexes at all socio-economic levels.

Instructional sessions will be anchored by the versatile and inimitable Charles Campbell, an empathic and reputed national chess master and arbiter with numerous personal honours. He was in the Team Nigeria contingent to the 2008 World Chess Olympiad in Dresden, Germany where Nigeria placed second in category E and also the victorious COJA 2003 All Africa Games chess team. He is very passionate about the intellectual development of children and will bring to bear over 15 years’ experience with kids. Charles holds a first degree in zoology as well as a master’s degree in ecotoxicology/pollution management.
