Career / Re: Enslaved To An Indian Company By "Service Bond" by chegson: 7:32am On Jul 12, 2013
natasha: I will tell you that jobs are hard to come by, so also is keeping a job. There isnt an easy job. Even oil/banking/political jobs have alot of stress attached to it. If you are complaining that you work in the rain and sun (yet you hv a guaranteed income montgly irrespectively of your target met) i am sorry to say this; you are LAZY. Very lazy and a typical epitome of the nigerian graduate who feels the world owes them the right to a cushy, well paying stress free job.
Do you know how many hours the kids who hawk water/buns etc put in daily even at the weekends all for a meagre 200# naira at the end of the day? In the rain, sun, cold, they endure daily hazards like people stealing their wares, sexual harrassments from all sorts, injuries from feckless drivers.
Let me give you examples of life in d uk, there are people who work odd jobs in freezing conditions (-4 degrees typical weather condition for my city) here and end up sleeping on a couch at the end of the night just so they can save up and send money to take care of their responsibilities back home as well as meet the demands of extended family members/relatives like you.
I would advise you to suck it up, man up, stop acting like a spoilt child and learn to be thankful that you have a job despite your little work experience instead of conplaining that they didnt give you a car. Do you think its cheap maintaining a car? You need to stop this attitude of self entitlement and change your mentality. For someone who has already earned 600k in 6 months and cant boast of a 5% savings na wa o. Afraid she is catching me (as sum1 i know wld say).

Truth is always very bitter.

PEN_MIGHT: Its is surely going to be the 'Most Memorable Day' for that flower on that table. The breath of the duo may be a good turning point in its miserable life. It is a priviledge for that flower that most men may never have in life. But what on earth could they be discussing again. Forbes things!

What else could they be discussing than how to acquire more wealth.

Yungwizzzy: where my father dey wen dis men dey hustle??
Your father has played his own part and should not be apportioned any blame. If there is any area you felt he ought to have done better, you have every opportunity to improve on it. Dangote started the same way like you and achieve greatness because he made up his mind to be successful and worked had to achieve his aim.

Car Talk / Re: Car Owners Prefer Fake Insurance From Licencing Offices? Why? by chegson: 6:42pm On Apr 10, 2013
Many vehicle owners belief that the main purpose of insurance is to have something to present to the police at check points. Another reason is that most people do not have confidence in insurance companies. They see it as a waste of money buying insurance cover for N5000 when fake insurance worth N300 is available at the same licensing office. It is the belief of most people that things should be sorted out among parties whenever accident occurs instead of wasting their time visiting insurance companies that will not respond to their claims.

This is sympathetic and highly embarrasing. I think it is high time we start telling our people back home some basic truth concerning Oyinbo Countries. In fact, If not for the high level of curruption, wickedness, selfishness., lack of fear of God, etc. that is killing our Naija political leaders, I see no reason why Oyinbo people should not be selling their properties to Obtain Naija Green Card with all natural resources God had given us.
I am not condemning travelling, pls don' t ge
t me wrong. Travelling is an exposure and education on its own, but you do not need to sell your life inheritance, or use your manhood for money rituals all in the name of travelling visa.
My two Cents anyway.

Very bad news indeed. Life investments of Babas and Mamas gone within few hours through fire disaster. It is a BIG SHAME for a Country like Naija not to be able to boast of a well equiped Fire Service. A Country that is richly blessed by God,yet majority of the Citizens are living in abject poverty. I pray that God will give all those traders that lost theirproperties the fortitude to bear the loss and meet them at the point of their needs.

Investment / Re: Which Nigerian Stocks Have You Bought Or Sold? by chegson: 4:08pm On Feb 28, 2013
I bought First Bank and Wema Bank shares many years ago, wben it was a pride having share certificates inside your cupboard. Their Dividends were highly rewarding. I was impressed by the amounts I made through transfer of parts of the sbares then. I ve sold all my Wema shares, but I stil have some of First Bank.
I invested also In Access, zenith,BAGCO and some others with highly annoying dividends.
I got my fingers burnt by investing in Transcorp. I am always moved to tears each time I set my eyes on my Transcorp share certificate. It was a great lesson for me.

Good job guys! I just stumbled upon this thread; just what I've been looking for!
Just a quick question plss...... If I go for the 91-day bid, can I get to 'roll-over' my investment after the 91 days if I so desire, just as the case is for fixed deposit?
Thanks..

You can give your Banker a standing order to roll-over your investment at the expiration of the 91 days, while the interest
is calculated and paid direcly into your account upfront.

Tawa89:That means Jakande built substandard houses? A minus to baba kekere's administration.
They should pack out and sue Lagos state government for selling poorly constructed houses to them and for endangering their lives

I think we should learn how to show appreciation whenever there is need to do so.
For you to condemn the kind gesture of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the then Governor of
Lagos State, is highly uncalled for. Have you forgotten how ridiculously cheap Alhaji
Jakande sold those housing units to Allottees over thirty years ago?.For your information,
he sold 2 bedroom flats for N5,000 and 3 bedroom for N7,500. No other Governor has done
such a wonderful thing for the people of Lagos State since Jakande left office.
Religion / Re: Crossing Your Legs In Church, Is It Wrong? by chegson: 10:07pm On Jan 05, 2013
Crossing of legs in church especially during prayers is wrong. As a Christian, you are not expected to
cross your legs or even your hands when praying (even when you are praying alone inside your closet).
When you cross your legs, you formed letter "X" with your legs. Letter X is used for cancellation or
to indicate that something is wrong or unacceptable. Your crossing of legs during prayers therefore
indicates that you are cancelling, or saying NO to the prayers being offered. when you have been told
that a particular habit is wrong, especially in the church, is it not better you obey and take to correction
instead of being stubborn?. Read 1 samuel 15, Verses 22-23 about disobedience.

Business / Re: SCAM ALERT!!!Chibuzor Eze IS A SCAM!!! www.biz4naija.info his site. by chegson: 3:58am On Dec 24, 2012
The damage that scammers have done to the image of our great country- Nigeria, will no doubt take several years to repair.
I shed tears at times when i read some nasty comments foreigners make on the internet concerning Nigeria as a result of
the activities of these internet scammers. I visited a shop along Jamaica Avenue in Queens area of New York, USA some weeks ago,
looking for winter Jacket to buy. One Akata guy was having friendly chat with a black girl who claimed to be an African.
The Akata guy asked "what part of Africa"? and the lady answered "Nigeria". When the Akata guy heard the name, Nigeria, he
shouted on top of his voice, "F R R A A A A A A U U U U U U U D D" The girl was highly embarrassed because all eyes were
immediately turned towards her as if she had actually committed fraud or stolen something from the shop. These scammers should
for goodness sake, realise that apart from denting the image of our great country abroad, they are also making things so difficult
for Nigerians that are doing genuine buisness on the internet. I commend Nairaland for all its efforts to ensure the activities of
these scammers are brought under control. God bless Nairaland, God bless Nigeria.

I was highly impressed by the way and manner Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola was quoting passages from
the Bible at ACN Campain rally at Igando few days to the last Governorship election in Lagos State.
This is another clear demonstration that both Christians and Muslims are members of one big family
in Yorubaland and should always be seen as such. It is commendable, as far as i am concerned.
