LOL, I forgive you, because they say ignorance is bliss. You show Ichimoku and RSI here; did you do it with pen and paper? Don't you know you're running a program when you use your fancy technical analysis? What if I prefer running my technical analysis on programs I wrote myself, huh?

For your mind you think you are funny, LOL. grin grin grin shocked

His comment was just a follow up to @willie2015.

Your second paragraph is not true. The same man shouting Oando don cast now was the same man that first raised alarm here about something not being right with the rice business which was supposed to form the third part to Dangote food. Before those for and against started deliberately same way Oando faithfuls and antagonists are doing now.

Please look up the meaning of "stakeholders" first, then read the entire paragraph and you will understand why "stakeholders" was used. Not having a dig at you at all. Responding because of innuendos that could arise from this so don't take it personal cheesy

Looking to the future, we will continue to pursue strategic diversification opportunities within the broader energy sector that provide enhanced growth and value creation for our stakeholders, particularly in clean energy, agri-feedstock sector, as well as energy infrastructure and mining.

Oando is diversifying into certain sectors as part of their "clean energy" strategy in partnership with other organisations or governments. For example the CNG (compressed natural gas) buses being rolled out in Lagos. I encourage you to google CNG buses. You will find that the FGN also met with Innoson for the manufacture of CNG buses and they may also be looking to import some.

Agri-feedstock - Oando's role here is the provision of the gas required to produce fertiliser for use in the agric business. Look this one up as well. They claim to have substantially reduced their gas flaring as part of their Clean energy strategy instead harnessing that energy for power production.

Considering these projects are not being done in isolation but in partnership with other organisations, governments and agencies, STAKEHOLDERS was the most appropriate term to use.

Also, note that Oando's upstream assets are in JVs with different entities including the NNPC and IOCs. Being an operator in the upstream sector for such high-level entities is a big deal. The use of the word "stakeholders" was apt.

The Clean energy mantra is what all IOCs use now to attract capital. Some funds, banks, portfolios will not invest in projects that are not environment friendly.

An analysis doesn't necessarily guarantee an upward or downward movement. Please don't float that criterion here to discredit one of the soundest human assets we have on this platform. In analyzing any stock, you look at the pros and cons and then make your decision.Every pro or con is a potential added insight. The direction of the stock price in future doesn't necessarily negate any of the pros or cons.

Okay let me share with you a secret. The best way to use this platform is to realize that people view the stock market from different perspectives. Some are value investors that wait for yearly dividends, some do growth stocks that sell stocks where the prices happen to go high, some do trading by buying a stock that they believe will increase and sell once they hit their target. Some are a mix of 2 or the 3. I will not also forget those or the guy who does data analysis with advanced Python.

Then there are some that don't do any indept analysis but they sort of have intuition for what they do, so they may tell A or B may happen but they cannot fully explain why they say so, yet sometimes events will prove them right. That is where you start hearing things like street, spiritual, common sense and sentimental analysis.

Most value investors will not touch Oando by a long pole based on their fundamental details at this time, but growth and traders who are more susceptible to risk will be more disposed to stocks like that.

If you stay here long enough, you will be able to guess with higher probability the different investing philosophies of the different people who make comments. So, if a value investor talks down on Oando, rather than folks taking it to heart, just switch to growth or trader perspective and see if it aligns with what you want.

That is how I look at it. To put it in perspective, there are various car mechanics but if you have a Benz, you are likely to get the best advice from a mechanic experienced in Mecedes benz, if you have a Ford, same thing, even you have a japs, then more general purpose mechanic may be of help.

One way to be in the middle is to divide your portfolio into the 3 major investment types, that way, when you are taking a risk, you know you are doing it with funds that is risk friendly.

I hope this helps.

There is nothing that beats criticism, even if biased, provided the contents are factual or highly possible with substance no matter how painful it may seem.

Even if it were to be outrightly dismissed, it makes it even easier to absorb a shock, if things turn south, rather than taken unaware.

In normal circumstances, all existing shareholders including majority and minority shareholders are allocated additional shares over and above their Rights based on a ratio.

So No, it's not restricted to only influential shareholders

Floor members need to first acquire the right to participate in the offer by purchasing "rights" on the floor of the exchange. Afterwhich they pay the applicable cost of the shares being issued as Rights.

The above scenario is different from what you bolded.

In this case, the "chairman" and existing holders are participants in the Rights issue by "right". So all they'll need to do is to apply for more than their share and Rights not taken up (by other existing shareholders and not sold on the floor) will be distributed amongst interested shareholders. If there is an oversubscription, it is usual to have allocations scaled back for the extras over your Rights.
Ok. Thank you for the detail.πŸ™

Sorry for the confusion:
By floor members, I mean ordinary or minor shareholders of a company.

If I get you right, both minor shareholders who qualify for right issue can also apply to take up more than their qualifying number of rights as long as those rights were not taken up....
....and this option is not restricted Only to Major shareholders, Chairmen influential members, etc ?

Pretty sure the chairman or any existing shareholder can also buy up all the shares not taken up in a RI. You can subscribe for more shares than you're qualified for in a RI.

I agree a public offer and Rights combination is the way to go though. A PO opens up the target market to "whosoever will" so not restrictive.

@bolded..is it possible for floor members also?
Or restricted to Chairmen n ko?

That's 13b new shares added to the existing 32b, when listed, to bring the whole thing to 45b OS.
And the CEO said this's only the first phase of money raising (read the story).

This's what's weighing the banking sector, and by extension the entire market, down and not the windfall tax as many think. Windfall tax is a one-off on the 2023 account only, and as at H1 '24 the banks are still posting mega profit which should have been making the sector bullish.
But my theory is that many investors are staying away from the banks for money raising to run it's course.
Then for the overbloated shares to be reconstructed. Then for some corrections and bottoming out to occur, before a mighty bull seizes the market.

Whether you understand it or not, scarcity of shares is a factor of its own in price action. Bank stocks cannot rally, no matter the profits they post, if people are bringing ship loads of the shares to the market every day.

You're right. That's why I said "managed to pull it off",cuz there's widespread shareholders apathy.
Esp given their recent entrant as an international bank alongside FCMB..

But priority for banks now is to retain their license,
I believe share buyback is an option to explore post Capitalization in the Long term.
just as Airtel Africa has been doing since March this year on LSE up till today.

dividend won't be affected by share dilution.
