For so long now, Nigerians have been desiring to have a true #democracy, but all while, the citizens have been served a different thing. Now the citizens have awaken from their slumber and are demanding that the process of employing whom to represent them must be fair and just. #Nigerians are now saying no to politics of #thuggery and #ballot box snatching, no to politics where one professor who can't see clearly will determine the fate of millions of persons, no to politics of #interference by security agents and politicians, no to a politics where one wins during voting but lose during collation.
These are what Nigerians are fighting.
Lend me your voice let us keep speaking out until they do the needful.

Politics / Democracy Or Democracy Which Do We Have In Nigeria? by ComradeOJ(m): 10:59am On Jul 10, 2021
Is it democracy we have in Nigeria today or what #Fela will say, DEMOCRAZY?

This video attempts to bring to fore the ills in Nigeria's political and democratic journey by unraveling the damages done to the citizenry and the nation at large because #Nigeria cannot in all sincerity be defined as a democratic state, if anything; it is still a distant from arriving at democracy.

Politics on the other hand has made the actualization of a true democracy difficult in Nigeria. If anything, it has only succeeded in foisting a sort of 'Anarcycrazy' on the nation.

So therefore, what is the way forward for the nation?
What must Nigeria do to be able to start enjoying the dividends of democracy?

This video is a must watch because it attempts to answer all these questions and much more.

Though our hearts are ladened and grieved due to what the nation has caused and is still causing us, we need to appreciate Heaven for having a rare privilege to celebrate birthdays in a country where we wake up every day to tales and reports of killing and unimaginable atrocities.
Since birthdays comes once a year, i hope to be of great courage, display a noble and fierce expression of reign in the years to come.
Am surely in love with the feeling of this new age already.
Since i wish everyone 1000 years of meritorious and blissful living on their birthdays, i wish to take this time out to wish myself a very special day filled with joy and happiness, and 1000 years of meritorious and blissful living.

waiting for
his roommate, he
keeps late
night. As he tried
turning around,
a huge dark figure with
flamy
eyes opened his door,
he wanted
to scream but all
strength was
gone. Was it a dream or
vision?
He cant tell. It stared
deep into
his eyes and handed
him a
letter, he opened it.......
Dear Jude,
I couldn't make it home
last night
because I died. I
thought life
after death is an
elusion but am
here lonely and afraid in
pains
and in
torments The torture
is
unending, I cant explain
it but
am dying a thousand

You never told me this

how to avoid it. We
grew up
together, went to
school
together and did
everything in
common but you never
told me
about this new life of
yours. I
asked you severally and
you
jokingly pushed it aside.
I was a
good man with a
charitable heart
but that didn't count
here. The
angel told me, am
without Christ
and my name is not in
the book
of life. I asked you
yesterday
morning whats this

stuff and you said you
don't
want to bore me. Am in
pains,
can you hear the
screams, the
torments of the great
and the
less, I was told its for
eternity.
You betrayed our
friendship, you
never told me sex was
fornication but you
cautioned me
against AIDS, you never
told me
getting high was
drunkenness,
you just told me not to
drink and
drive, you never told me
lying
was sin, all you just
said was
don't be caught. I hate
you for
this....aaaahhh
h.....aaahhhh....aaa am
dying
again here but am alive,
the
flames keeps getting
hotter. I
wish you were here.
You
deceived me to the end.
If you
had told me about
Jesus and
salvation I knew I
couldn't be
here. I died only a few
hours ago,
I was drunk and ran
into a pole
but it seems I have
been here for
years.
Please tell my family
and all our
friends about salvation.
Am dying
again but death wont
come.
Its me, Henry.
He woke up at about
2:45AM
with a banging
headache and his phone
started
ringing, he picked it up
and what
he heard scared him to
his
bones. "Hello, Henry is
dead".
Today is still another
opportunity
to tell someone very
dear to you
about Jesus Christ and
His saving
grace. I just told you
because I
will never want you to
end up in
HELL.
HAVE YOU TOLD
SOMEONE ABOUT
JESUS TODAY?
U can copy, share and

You might not be able to go around evangelising but you can just share this to caution someone. Do it if you want...

Politics / Nigeria And Loans, A Siamese Twin by ComradeOJ(m): 4:54pm On Jun 18, 2020
NIGERIA AND LOANS, A SIAMESE TWIN

To run a business is often not an easy task. This is because of the several intrigues and dynamics involved in the process. As such, one needs to be knowledgeable in the art and science of business as a discipline.
A secret of successful business persons is that, they are effective and efficient managers of scarce resources, another is, they understand how to make other people’s money work for them.
Fund therefore, apart from sound managerial skills is one of the cardinal roots of a successful business.
So too, running a country is not an easy task; ensuring security of lives and properties; providing basic infrastructure and social amenities such as pipe borne water, electricity, good road network; creating job for the teeming population etc does not just come on a platter.
Nigeria as a nation is hugely blessed with abundant human and mineral resources. There are over 18 different sectors in the nation’s economy as observed in my second book ‘The Problem with Nigeria: Ensuring a More Cohesive, Peaceful and United Nation” but for a reason best known to the government, they choose to rely hugely on the oil and gas sector.
This has been hugely injurious to the nation’s economy, because, the inflow of funds from the sales of crude oil which seems to be fluctuating haphazardly has placed the nation in a very precarious financial position, and so therefore the need to augment what the sales of crude provides.
Instead of rapidly addressing other sectors of the economy, Nigeria has resorted to foreign debt as a means of addressing the myriad of challenges bedevilling the nation. Loan therefore becomes shockingly, a respite to the nation.
Loan is not entirely bad, but understanding how it works is of paramount importance. The likes of Jeff Bezoz, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Aliko Dangote etc as Billionaires in their respective spheres of endeavours are not entirely free from loans. They understand how loan works; they understand its positive and negative effects. Even countries, the like of USA, China, France etc are not entirely free from loans. As a matter of fact, the USA current total national debt standing according to Wikipedia as at 1st of May 2020 is $24.95 trillion. But how these loans translate into their economy and the lives of their citizens-the reason it was incurred speaks favourably of them.
Loans if judiciously used, are supposed to be gateways through which businesses are grown, nations are developed and citizens lives bettered. However, in clime as ours, loan has become quite the opposite.
A glance into Nigeria’s debt profile will reveal that Nigeria and loan are Siamese twins, their history and bond, deep rooted.
As at 1979 when the military regime handed over power to civilian administration, Nigeria’s debt profile stood at about $3.744 billion. By 1983, the Shagari’s administration had driven it to over $20 billion.
Fast forward to more recent times, in 2005 Nigeria’s debt profile stood at about $30bn. By this time, the cost of refinancing and servicing $30 billion existing external debt was generally considered as unsustainable. Olusegun Obasanjo as the then President of the country fought for a debt relief and after the ‘debt exit’ in 2006, Nigeria’s’ debt profile became lighter with barely $3 billion as external debt. However, by September 2012, Nigeria’s external debt jumped to $6.2bn with a domestic debt profile of N6.3trillion and as at June 2015, the country’s debt stood at N12.12trillion. By September 2018, Nigeria’s debt had sky rocketed to N22.43trillion. Currently, Nigeria’s debt stock is over N25 trillion with the present administration still borrowing at will.
What are all these loans used for, one may ask. According to the government, they are making the citizens lives better. They are building infrastructures, repairing roads, generating electricity, providing pipe borne drinking water, schools and health care facilities etc.
Is this true? Another may ask. A cursory look around will prove the obvious. The country is in total darkness, no portable drinking water, roads are almost un-motorable, citizens have no jobs and the few that are managing odd jobs are losing them daily, hospitals are almost ineffective, weak schools and haphazard educational system and thriving insecurity etc. These are the realities on ground. The situation is very pathetic.
What then is the use of these loans, if they can’t translate into anything good for the citizenry?
According to an article titled ‘A short history of Nigerias debt habit’ and published on Businessday by Cheta Nwanze on Oct 29, 2019, Nigeria takes trillions of naira in loans but spends trillions each year to subsidise both petrol and an unrealistic foreign exchange rate that distorts the economy. The economic policies of the government have also managed to create an environment in which local businesses struggle while simultaneously deterring foreign investment from entering the country. The consistent fall in FDI inflows combined with capital flight also leads to the government having to borrow more and more money to fund its expenditure.
Debt servicing seems to become the nation’s second anthem, consuming a good portion, about 50% of the nations Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Henry Boyo in an article titled ‘Still on Nigerias debt profile’ and published on Vanguard in October 2017 gave a first-class example. If Nigeria takes an attractive or cheap loan say, a $1bn loan at 7%, it would require N150bn + 7% to service and repay the loan when Naira exchanged for N150=1$. Government would however, require N300bn+7% to service and repay the same loan when Naira exchange rate is N300=$1. Clearly, so long as the persistent inexplicable surplus Naira liquidity challenge subsist, and CBN forex auction system remains skewed against the Naira, it is not a matter of if, but when the Naira will tumble beyond N500=$1. When this ultimately happens, government would need over N450+7% to service and repay the same $1bn loan. Ultimately, the foreign creditors would return once again, with another noose around our necks. Will the Nigerian government ever learn?
Regrettably no. The Nigerian government does not seem to learn anything from her excessive and troubling debt profile. If anything, government after government seems to be competing on which is the best borrower with nothing substantial on ground to show for it. Ironically, Nigeria being the poverty capital of the world runs one of the most expensive parliaments in the world whose most duties is approving loan request from the executives or acquiring exotic and expensive vehicles running into millions of dollars mostly from the borrowed funds.
Nigeria is about 60 years since her independence, if debt would do the nation any good, the citizens should have felt it by now. The country has been borrowing, and there’s nothing to show for the huge debt. The government cannot in any holistic way, justify its hobby of borrowing.
Yet, millions of barrels of crude are explored daily and sold; internal revenues are generated from Natural Resources Revenues, Taxes Revenue, Aids, Direct and Indirect Taxes etc
What are all these fund used for, one may again ask? Your guess is as good as mine.
The future of a poor Nigerian citizen is by all means at stake. Because that is what they have mortgaged.
With the incessant borrowing and the money going through other means other than the intended purposes, more hardship seems to lie ahead.
My candid advice to the government is to stop borrowing. Since they have been borrowing and there’s nothing to show for it, and again, since we must service those debts, let’s concentrate on the funds we use in refinancing and servicing those debts for our development and grow gradually. These loans don’t seem to work for us. Therefore it is on us to do whatever we have to do to be free from its grip. Maybe a visit to Ben Carson for an operation to separate the bond will do the nation tremendous good.
Politics / June 12: Has The Nigerian Politics And Democry Yielded Any Dividends To Her Citi by ComradeOJ(m): 2:46pm On Jun 14, 2020
JUNE 12: HAS THE NIGERIAN POLITICS AND DEMOCRY YIELDED ANY DIVIDENDS TO HER CITIZENS?

As Nigeria celebrates her second episode of the June 12 Democracy Day in honour of Late M.K.O Abiola whose electoral victory was annulled on the same day in 1993, from her usual May 29 which was the official day power changed hands from the military to civilians in 1999, most Nigerians are yet to understand what democracy means, not to mention enjoying its dividends.
Major General Muhammadu Buhari the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in his Democracy Day speech which sounded more of a Nigerian kind of campaign than a solidarity for democracy, asserted that: "...sustaining our democracy thus far has been a collective struggle and I congratulate all Nigerians and particularly leaders of our democratic institutions on their resilience and determination to ensure that Nigeria remains a shining example of democracy..."
A shining example of democracy? The speech which was ill conceived and full of fallacies seems more of a scorecard of someone who is scared of people reading from reality than informing the nation on what the government is doing to strengthen the already fragile democracy.
After taking time to go through the lengthy speech which most citizens believe will not better their lives in any manner, a dozen fusillades of questions flash through our minds:
Is the lopsided and nepotic appointment of government officials a dividend of democracy? Is the critical and total lack of security where herdsmen, Boko haram, Bandits kill at will and move about scot-free a dividend of democracy? Is the alienation of one religion or genocide targeted towards a particular group of persons who pays allegiance to and are supposed to benefit from the collective inheritance of the nation a dividend? Or is it the lack of job opportunities for the teeming Nigerian youths, gross abuse of power, the government's insensitivity to the welfare of her people, religious and ethnic bigotry, denial of citizens’ fundamental freedoms etc. that the government understands as the dividends of Democracy?
While discussing leadership in one of the events I was invited to as the guest speaker, I asked the people what crossed their minds at the first mention of the word “politics”.  As usual, I was inundated with several ridiculous replies. A huge section of the audience said that politics ‘is a dirty game; a business for criminals and the like-minded, which requires active participation in black magic and occult in order to achieve strides and protect one’s life’. On the other hand, others felt that politics ‘is an illicit business; a dog-eat-dog affair exclusively reserved for the affluent old, aged and retired people; that, it’s the manipulation of electoral processes, with the sole intent of buying votes rather than winning them at the ballots”. Some also saw politics as “a cheap means of changing one's social class; as a form of scandal; a means of dividing people; a cause of crises, pains and untold sorrows; as inconclusive elections, a means of acquiring cheap fame and influence; and that if one needed to dine with the devil, that’s exactly what they ought to do’.
Although all these replies may seem a bit distinct, they are a product of a single line of thought. This is because it is seemingly impossible to explicate politics in Nigeria from the myriad of ills tied to it. Obviously, my audience’s replies were only based on their distasteful experiences at different times, and not on what the term means. So, the simple question is what is politics?
The word “Politics” is derived from the Greek word 'politicos' meaning the affairs of the cities. The term itself is defined “as the process of making decision on the affairs of a society; the distribution of power and resources within a given community as well as the inter-relationships between communities”
In truth politics and democracy are like the teeth and tongue: the two concepts cannot be separated, because politics is the bedrock upon which a reliable democracy is built. It is a tool used to evaluate democracy in any society. In most saner climes of the world, Democracy is practised because it upholds the right of humans, makes everyone equal and makes everyone inclusive.
The fact that most politicians in Nigeria's political landscape do not have a clear understanding of what democracy is and entails, is the reason why the nation, although it appears to be democratic, in the true sense of her political disposition, is something else.
Democracy is a form of government, a way of life and a goal or an ideal. The term also refers to a country that has a democratic form of government. The word democracy means rule by the people. Abraham Lincoln described such government as “a government of the people by the people and for the people.” The citizens of a democratic state take part in government either directly or indirectly.
The goal of any democratic society is the creation of better grounds for a peaceful living in the society, through the protection of the lives and properties, as well as the rights and privilege of all the members of that society.
A democratic system of government recognises the equality and dignity of races, religions, sex or social standing. It upholds the equality of everyone before the law, and guarantees the non-violation of the citizens’ freedom. Democracy isn’t really complete when it lacks Freedom of religion, Freedom of expression and of speech, Freedom of association, Free and fair elections, Majority rule and minority rights, Political parties, Division of power, Constitutional government, Self-determination, Equality of citizenship, Rule of law, Private organisations etc. These features among many others make up democracy.
Abdul Akhtar in the movie titled the ‘The Dictator’ uttered some thought provoking statements in attempting to bring to light what democracy is. He states “Why are you people so ant-dictator? Imagine if America was a dictatorship, you could let one percent (1%) of the people have the whole of the nation’s wealth, you could help your rich friends get richer by cutting their taxes and bailing them out when they gamble and loose. You could ignore the demand of the poor for health care and education, your media would appear free but would secretly be controlled by one person and his family; you could wire top phones, you could torture foreign prisoners, you could have rigged elections, you could lie about why you go to war, you could fill your prisons with one particular racial group and no one would complain; you could use the media to scare people into supporting policies that are against their interests. Democracy is the worst, it is stupidity and listening to every stupid opinion; everybody’s vote counts, no matter how cripple or black or how female they are”.
The words of Abdul bring to fore the perils in the democratic dispensation of Nigeria. Even though Nigeria claims to be democratic, she exhibits the characteristics of dictatorship. Philip Bobbitt states that “it is the self-portrayal of a society that enables it to know its own identity”. If these words are anything to go by then Democracy in Nigeria can simply be understood as the demonstration of craziness otherwise simply put as "Democracy". This is because the people whom the masses entrust with their security and welfare in turn deny the masses the very security and welfare they desire.
Nigeria cannot in all sincerity be defined as a democratic state, if anything; it is still a million miles away from true democracy.
In a constitutional democracy, where the constitution states clearly how the affairs of the state are carried out, but where an individual feel to be better than the over 200 million other populaces and therefore creates and abides by the dictates of his own making and conscience is nothing close to democracy. A true democratic state does not disobey court orders, and cannot detain people even when they had been tried in the court and found guiltless. A democratic state cannot acquire properties without the consent of the legislators, when it is constituted that the legislators must assent to such an endeavour. A democratic state cannot remove or suspend a Chief Justice of the federation (a head to an arm of government) without recourse to the due and unambiguously constitutionally stipulated process. A democratic state cannot foist individuals on the citizens as public officials as though it were a public enterprise, without allowing room for the citizens to freely select their representatives. A democratic state cannot select those to prosecute and those not to prosecute when both parties are culpable. These pyramids of anomalies constitute the Nigerian democratic settings.
Politics on the other hand has made the actualisation of a true democracy difficult in Nigeria. If anything, it has only succeeded in foisting a sort of “Anarcycrazy” (a state where one is a dictator in a democratic dispensation) on the nation.
Instead of politics to be a mechanism that will make democracy possible in Nigeria, it has in turn become the bump which not only slows down democracy but a gizmo which denies the citizens from enjoying democratic dividends in the nation.
This has become a reason why a person who knows or understands nothing foists themselves into public offices in the political landscape of the nation. It is ironical that in a complex economy and environment as Nigeria’s, illiterates or those with little understanding of the nation’s dynamics continue to rule the vastly educated populace
Nigeria since 1999 has spent over 13 years out of the possible 21 years to political illiterates. The nation has continually been ruled by those who may only know how to sign their names and nothing else. The legislative arm is not also spared of this conundrum.
Politics is supposed to be a medium through which politicians better the lives of their citizens; nonetheless, it has become an avenue through which they only better their own lives. This remains a reason why close to 60 years after gaining her independence, Nigerian politicians are still promising the masses basic amenities such as portable water supply, good and affordable health care facilities, steady electricity, security and other basic infrastructure while other governments are delving into inventions and technologies because they have long scaled those margins.
Politics in Nigeria is no longer about patriotism, ideas, innovations, peaceful coexistence and development but voodooism, fame, wealth, connections, tribalism, nepotism and religious bigotry.
Ado Musa observes that “in Nigeria, people have effectively been disenfranchised by their own circumstances in the one hand and their leaders’ perfidy on the other. As a result, Nigeria is approaching a situation where democracy is being practiced without democrats and elections are been conducted with scant regards for the electorates”. He advises that “we must therefore arrive at a consensus that only collegiate leadership of knowledgeable, humble, patriotic and committed Nigerians are voted into public offices. We have had enough of this contraception”.
Accordingly, the fact that political parties in Nigeria demands tens of millions of naira as fees for tickets confirms that democracy has been deliberately killed by our reigning politicians and political parties. This is not as it were in the first and second republic, politicians and political parties where not in politics simply to take over power for self-aggrandizement but rather ran what amounts to a textbook politics in terms of cleanliness, especially compared to the atrocious pillage witnessed in the latest turn of political events in the country.
In the same vein, Nigerian democracy has been rubbished by militarisation of the polity, the forced migration to a centralized pseudo-federal presidential system; a system that is more unitary than federal in all respects which is in line with the military’s tradition of a centralized command. The system has consistently favoured money and moneybags.
Nigeria is confronted with soaring unemployment, chronic poverty, a legislative gridlocked by regional rivalries, sluggish economy described as the poverty capital of the world, heavy dependence on fluctuating oil prices, judicial insomnia, a bogus and porous constitution, distrust and suspicions, fear and the Continuous Involvement and interference of the military in politics, corruption, the false, constitution, leadership and followership phenomenon, lack of Human security and human rights etc.
Although the Nigerian democratic journey had been jagged, by the grace of God, Nigerians are still living and striving despite the far-reaching effects most of which include insecurity problems etc. In spite of these ascending numerical antecedents of politics in the Nigerian democracy, there are still a lot of glaring positive benefits accrued to it which still keeps the hope of the citizenry aflame. You may hate politics, but you need politics unless you like having no voice in your own affair. Larry Sabato once said “there are plenty examples where political action has produced real change”. Indeed politics has ameliorated our democracy on several ways, notably in the following ways.
The Voters’ Authority, Incumbency Defeated, Equal Opportunity, Conceding of Defeat, Majority Rule and Minority Right, Political Parties etc.
For democracy to work more effectively and for its dividends to be enjoyed by all and sundry, there are definitely some requirements and they include:
Education on Democracy, Citizen Participation, Understanding Democracy as a Tool for Economic Development, Social mobility, Agreement on Fundamentals, Preserving Human Rights, Ensuring Peaceful Change etc.
Unless and until when these factors are achieved, Nigeria should stop deceiving herself and lying to the world that she is a democratic state. Because in truth, she is nothing compared to democracy. Until then, Nigerians can only put faith in hope that things will turn around some day.

Politics / BREAKING: Buhari Govt: 2,900 Payments Worth N51bn Paid Into Personal Accounts – by ComradeOJ(m): 7:02pm On Jun 04, 2020
BudgIT has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the payment of government funds into personal accounts.

This call was made after a study of the Open Treasury Initiative of the Federal Government.

The Buhari’s administration on December 9, 2019, launched the Open Treasury Portal.

The purpose is to increase transparency in government spending.

On Thursday, BudgIT released its report titled Open treasury “OpenTreasury.gov.ng Nigeria’s Spending Platform: Review, Gaps and Recommendations”.

It noted that the sums were paid into personal accounts, including several records with vague descriptions.

BudgIT discovered over 5000 payments without descriptions to the tune of N278 billion.

It found over 2,900 payment records totalling N51 billion paid into personal accounts with vague descriptions.

In one, N68m payment was made for “Ogunsuyi” and N15.8m for “international” as a description.

After the launch, the All Progressives Congress (APC), said it affirmed Buhari’s resolve to tackle public sector corruption and plug leakages in the public treasury.

It called it a novelty in the pursuit of open governance, transparency and anti-corruption fight under Buhari’s Presidency.

APC spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu, in a statement said, “Those who want to do business with the government should understand that henceforth, everything would be done in the open.

He noted that every Nigerian now has access to every naira the government is making, every naira it is spending and on what it is being spent.

“In the fight against public sector corruption, the OTP complements other initiatives such as the administration’s full implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which has increased the level of accountability and transparency in the financial resources of the government; stoppage of budget padding, contrary to what we witnessed throughout the 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pruning out thousands of ghost workers through the stricter implementation of Integrated Personnel Payroll System (IPPIS).

“To name a few of OTP’s requirements, all MDAs are to publish: daily reports of payments from N5m; monthly budget performance; quarterly financial statements; and annual financial statements prepared in compliance with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

“All the reports are to be published within stipulated deadlines on the OTP portal which will be open to and can be accessed by all”, Issa-Onilu wrote.

COVID-19 is a scam, discharged Delta state patient alleges
By Jerrywright Ukwu
- A discharged patient has stated that the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria is a scam - The patient, a female aged 36, was discharged from an isolation centre recently in Warri, Delta state - The patient while speaking with journalists, insisted that she never received or saw her results indicating her status of the disease. The patient, a female aged 36, was reported positive of the virus on Friday, April 17 despite her assertions that she is negative for the virus. She said despite her protests, she was taken to the COVID-19 isolation/treatment centre in Warri where she was kept for 17 days until her discharge. The patient while speaking with journalists, insisted that she never received or saw her results indicating her status of the disease which she claimed is a scam. Her words: “It was an audio result that I got. They called me to tell me that I was positive but did not give me any result. Before I was taken there I already said the virus is not in this country. “The markets are crowded; if it is here more people would have been affected. The banks are also crowded. It’s a scam in this nation. I am a witness. I have been there. I may have stayed at the isolation centre, but I do not see myself as a COVID-19 patient. “My friend who was with me before I was admitted is living his normal life. He is fine. His test was negative. How about my family at home? When I was sick my mother was the one bathing me and even slept in the same room with me many times. She is almost 70 and still living her normal life. Imagine the close contact she had with me. “They did not plan the drama before they went on stage. They would have quarantined my family. The reports that the doctors that attended to me were all tested positive for COVID-19 are all fabricated stories.”
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria has condemned the federal government's methods of handling issues of containment, treatments and finding cures to the dreaded COVID-19 disease. The group in a statement sent to journalists on Sunday, May 17, said gagging citizens from disclosing their treatment regime whilst in the COVID-19 isolation centres, “amounts to curtailing their constitutionally guaranteed fundamental freedoms of expression and information.” Recall that the federal government had on Friday, May 15 asked COVID-19 survivors to stop revealing the drugs used for their treatment in order to discourage self-medication among Nigerians.
Politics / Reps Ask Health Minister To Provide Whereabouts Of Chinese Medical Team by ComradeOJ(m): 1:26pm On May 20, 2020
In what seems to be a twist of events, the members of the house of representative seem not to be contended with the position of the federal government yesterday.

May 20, 2020By Abdul Seye

The House of Representatives has asked the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire to provide the House with the details of the whereabouts of the Chinese medical team in Nigeria.

The lower chamber resolved that the Minister should give a detailed status of the supposed Chinese medical team to the Speaker as agreed during their meetings on April 7, 2020

The House also mandated its committees on Interior, Health Care Services, National Intelligence and Foreign Affairs to investigate the Chinese team, their whereabouts and who they really are.

This decision was sequel to a motion of urgent pubic importance moved by Shehu Koko on Tuesday during plenary.

Mr. Shehu in his motion said that the Minister is giving contradictory statements on the status of the Chinese doctors

“The Minister recently said that ’The CCECC is the host of the doctors, I do not know their whereabouts, there seems to be so much interest surrounding their whereabouts, they are staff of the CCECC, I would like if people are not disturbing my office’ this statement is contradictory to the one he said to the Speaker during the meeting.”

Adding that “Following concerns raised by Nigerian, it is incumbent on our part to investigate there true situation of this Chinese doctors.”

When the motion was put to vote by the Speaker, the “ayes” had it.

THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA: Ensuring A MORE COHESIVE, PEACEFUL AND UNITED NATION
BY COMRADE ODUGBO ENENCHE JUSTIN

The problem with Nigeria is certainly the most dauntless and humane task of the moment. This is because the nation today an be best described as a crumbling edifice, one sitting on a potential time bomb which may detonate any moment soon. The cause of all these negative developments giving rise to the many problems of the nation are not far-fetched, they include and are not limited to the practice of fake democracy; marginalization; bad and unpurposeful leadership; obsessive desire for power; abuse of power; ethnicity and nepotism; corruption; unemployment; poverty; religious bigotry; insecurity etc. Truth is the fact that Nigeria is in too many problems, however, despite these numerical antecedents in the Nigerian journey to the Promised Land, Nigerians are still striving and the journey still continues. It therefore becomes pertinent that something must be done to avert this sudden nemesis bedeviling the nation and to make it more cohesive, peaceful and united. This book is written to correct the consciousness of entire citizenry; the ordinary citizens and the public citizens. The book is designed to consciously inform citizens to continuously bear in mind that they are the advocates for change, the architects and engineers of the sort of nationhood they crave for and desire. The book teaches and does not necessitate that one must be in position of interest before impacting the nation but when one absorbs the sound teachings of this book and allows self to become a positive force to be reckoned with in the pursuit of cohesiveness, peace, unity and development in the society, the essence of the book will have been successfully achieved. A better citizenry is the main reason for this book. It is therefore the hope of the author that this book restores the decorum, stability, peace, unity and the glory this nation (Nigeria) once enjoyed.

THIS BOOK SUMMARISES THE PROBLEM WITH THIS NATION. IT IS A MUST READ FOR EVERY NIGERIAN.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, RUSH AND GRAP YOUR COPY.

REAL MISSION, LOCATION OF 15 CHINESE WHO CAME TO NIGERIA REVEALED
May 19, 2020 By Seun Opejobi

The federal government has revealed what the 15 Chinese experts who recently came into Nigeria are doing.

Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, disclosed that the doctors are in the country to help in building and equipping COVID-19 isolation centres.

Aregbesola stated that the experts are in Nigeria on the bill of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC.

He made the disclosure during the Presidential Task Force, PTF, daily briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja, on Tuesday.

Aregbesola said the Chinese experts worked at the Idu COVID-19 isolation centre and the Dome project both in Abuja.

According to Aregbesola: “Indeed 15 Chinese nationals came into Nigeria on April 8. They are here on the bill of the CCECC, a Chinese company doing some works for us in Nigeria in conjunction with some Nigerian companies they agreed to support us in the effort to respond to the pandemic.

“At Idu isolation centre in Abuja, they participated in retrofitting and equipping the isolation centre. They equally worked on the Dome project, that was handled by the NNPC Construction in conjunction with ThisDay.

“So, those are the locations in which they came to work. Both in retrofitting the Iju facility and installing critical essential medical equipment.”

Lately, some Nigerians have raised an alarm over the whereabouts of Chinese nationals said to be medical doctors who came into the country to help fight COVID-19.

Politics / Nigeria, Where Is Thy President by ComradeOJ(m): 6:48pm On May 15, 2020
NIGERIA, WHERE IS THY PRESIDENT?
Nigeria is a country with over 200 million persons, and thus termed the 'giant of Africa'. The later could only be a rhetoric to the fact that she's the most populous black nation in the world and the most populous on the continent but nothing else.
On the 29th of May 1999, Nigeria returned once again to a Republic and has since been ruled by four different heads with the fourth still in power namely Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd).
Of all the presidents that have ruled Nigeria since her return to civil rule in 1999, the fourth and incumbent is different in all definitions, dimensions and ramifications.
It is worthy of note, that apart from the annulled 1993 elections, the 2015 general elections which ushered in the incumbent, remains the most evil and controversial in the history of the nation. It can't even be compared to the 2019 elections where the head of the Judiciary and Chief Justice of the nation was forcefully in a Rambo style ejected from office in a coup d'état against the nation’s Judiciary.
The nation was divided across ethnic and religious lines, massive and record breaking-rigging, historical and devastating electoral violence and propelled crises just to mention but a few, placed the 2015 general elections as the most inhumane, frivolous and criminal endeavour in the history of the nation’s existence.
After contesting for three consecutive times i.e. 2003, 2007 and 2011 and loosing on all occasions, one may think and conclude that such an individual if given an opportunity may break and set records in the management of the nation’s affairs. This is because common sense will inform one that such an individual would have garnered wide and expanded experiences and ideas in the course of his many defeats which could lead to some positive contributions in the future. Nigerians hoped for more from him and knew the moment he won that the kind of change we always dreamt of for our country was only around the corner.
As a matter of fact, that was the headlines then. The infamous plagiarised speech 'i am for everyone and for no one' was all over the media. They thought the warlord will immediately redefine the cause of the nation’s existence for good.
However, maybe to clear the doubts of such thinkers, nature or was it some crooked evil forces caused the same individual to re-contest in 2015 and eventually, the warlord was declared winner. The reality on ground after the electoral brouhaha is quite pathetic to the expectations of the citizenry. As a matter of fact, I would be silly, mischievous and guilty to state he didn't. Though in the negatives.
Appointments became by connection and mostly were nepotic, campaign promises were quickly forgotten, poor policies were quickly and hastily developed and promulgated, critics were prohibited and convicted etc.
Due to his numerous promises to curtail and defeat the dreaded Boko Haram sect in 3 months, myself and many alike had thought he intended to appoint himself the Minister of Defense, but as many times, we were proven wrong.
The first action of the uniform man after keeping the nation on suspense for almost six months was to appoint himself the substantive Minister of Petroleum, a vast field he has little or no experience at all (it is worthy of note here that this is an individual who has not gone to school to acquire the modern and requisite knowledge needed to transform such a sector of the economy).
And finally, after all the anomalies, in a gesture to make mockery of the citizenry, the head was no where to be found.
First, it was for a few weeks, then more weeks and later, much more weeks. This prompted citizens and the international communities asking: NIGERIA, WHERE IS THY PRESIDENT?
Things began to go wrong.
Price of petroleum motor spirit (fuel) drastically soared high. Price of foodstuffs and other necessary commodities skyrocketed. The Dollar became a priced and cherished commodity but the Naira slumped and dwindled in the stock market. Finally, the nation plummeted into a recession.
Life became more difficult than before. New dreaded sects emerged, kidnapping became a thriving industry. Everyone was fighting to survive and eking out a living through any means possible but the government grew more inhuman, cruel and clueless, throwing stones at barking dogs that no longer have the power to bite.
The Professor took opportunity of the many absence of his principal and somehow, maybe with luck, managed to bring the nation back on her feet. But the principal returned, or was it another rhetoric? We weren't allowed to see or directly hear from him. We were told he was recuperating and as such was best if he ruled from home. Once again, the nation started nose diving and her destination was no longer clear.
Again, either by chance or controversy, the uniform man was declared winner of the 2019 elections even before the final collation of the results. Things became worse and life more difficult to live. Many lost there jobs and many others, their lives.
At last, the novel Corona Virus surfaced and our president is no where to be found.
Where other world leaders could be seen running helter-skelter to provide for and protect their citizens even at the detriment of their lives, Nigeria’s ruler is desperately hiding (maybe because he has a record with illness).
The likes of Trump, Putin, Rajoelina and other world leaders are constantly at the fore, leading a search for a cure, vaccine and constantly encouraging their citizens, one of our rulers many puppets is out there announcing to the citizenry that "it's a matter of style". Instead, security were added to the already existing ones at the Villa gates and many staffs denied entry for fear of Convik 1-9 birus.
While other world leaders were providing substantial palliatives and stimulus to cushion the effect of the corona virus on their citizens and the economy, our ruler, according to an article published by Terhemba Daka et al on the 19th of March 2020 indicates that an ill advised decision was was taken in reducing a mere #20 from fuel price which can be obtained by no more than a quarter of the general population. As if to correct their huge deficit in handling the very issue, Okechukwu Nnodim wrote a position on Punch on the 1st of April 2020 stating that the federal government had reduced an additional #1.50. Yet again, in a piece published by Remi Feyisipo on Businiss Day on the 24th of April 2020, our ruler was dishing out contaminated rice and beans which were already badly infested by weevils and were showing signs of decaying any moment. This regretful facet replicates itself in several other parts of the country, particularly Ondo.
Worst of it all, the ruler is no where to be found except occasionally, where he will be seen wearing ordinary slippers to address or rather impose lock downs with no perspective on its effects on his employers from the comfort of what their money can afford.
Citizens of Madagascar, USA, Kenya UK and a host other countries know where their presidents are not just because of the corona virus but when they're needed. This is not the case with Nigeria. We are always looking for and begging our ruler (i.e. their employee) to speak to us or come to our aid in times of troubles.
On paper, through camera lenses and audio tapes, #20,000 was distributed to every poor Nigerian but in reality, the stomach of most citizens are grumbling, crime increasing and security officers killing at will the poor and defenceless citizens.
The once active Vice who has been covering for the principal and making the ghost visible is now sidelined due to politricks. I won't state much here. I'll rather, offer to pray that we all remain alive to witness what 2023 will have to offer.
What a nation! A country with President but no President. A country where those seeking elective positions are always in the glare of the electorate, but soon they are elected, their enterprise is redefined.
My ardent appeal to Mr. President is that he rises to the occasion at this crucial moment and identify with the suffering populace not just by way of making empty talks, but by fast-tracking processes and sparing no knowledge, resources or ounce of energy, until permanent solutions to Covid 19 are discovered. Our country has all it takes to forge through this dreadful circumstance. Our researchers should be aided with grants with the hopes that cures to this pandemic may come to the world through us.
The distribution of palliatives to the disadvantaged and less privileged should also be made transparent. In saner world where citizens' records are well documented, who needs help or not are easily determined by knowing what one does, how much they earn, if they are dependents or not. In such climes, the affluent donate to ensure that the poor are helped, while the government gives different allowances to its citizens as its mark of concern and care.
Well, we have been inundated with such supports in cash and kind from within and outside the country in the past few days. We hope that through proper channels, (you the president) will see to it that these donations get to those in dire need of them. And more importantly, your updating the nation on your progresses (and even challenges) in curtailing and combating the virus will mean a whole lot. It will give hope, which most of us need desperately as fear consumes us more quickly now than ever within every passing moment.
Give us hope. Talk to us. Now.
Thank you for listening and until next time, I hope to see you soon.
