Apart from a few grey areas, this write-up is very incise and revealing, very instructive, and indeed praiseworthy.

Davo93: Very lovely letter there but you keep mentioning Oshaniwa. Is the guy good as such? He was a disaster when he was summoned to feature for the Super Eagles during the Nations Cup I think.
I very much agree with you.He was a substitute for the injured Elderson Echiejile at the final of d 2013 AFCON. He made our defence so weak that Burkina faso almost equalised the only goal with which we lifted the trophy. Before he even came in,he was busy shaking his squad mates on d bench like him, trying to muster courage. That was a sign of lack of confidence and was also rare in football.Players shake their mates on the bench when they leave the field not when they want to go in. On the pitch,he played with lack of confidence.Personally,i think he is not yet tested and trusted enough to play at the highest level(World Cup)yet even as a sustitute. If he improves fast,he can go as a subsitute, otherwise,he should prepare for 2018.
Education / Re: 15 Exam Cheats Now Born Again Return Their WAEC Certificates by cosify: 5:14pm On Jan 05, 2014
sureteeboy: The simple english says, anyone caught cheating will be jailed. Were they caught?
Restitution does not mean that they can not be punished. You should rather say that the law enforcement agencies should temper justice with mercy. They can either free them from punishment or give them a light sentence/punishment.

dre stone okuta: They should go and return all the meat they stole from their mama's pot too, the biro's and pencils they stole throughtout their schooling years....
U really got me laughing and laughing. Your comment really shows that life is difficult. Personally, i think that things like, confession, forgiveness of one's sins, repentance or alms giving etc can not take us to heaven. Only redemption can. Our righteousness is like a dirty rag to God. But it does not mean we should be comfortable in sin.We cannot continue in sin just because grace is there for us.We MUST make our own efforts because it is not all who call God 'Father,Father' that will enter the kingdom of God but those who do what God says. The Born Again WAEC Criminals did not do wrong by returning their ill-gotten certificates neither are they guranteed heaven by doing so.One thing is certain-By returning the certificates, they now have free consciences which is the next judge after God who will want to use them as new instruments to fight corruption and injustice. In the final analysis, by returning their certificates, they stand a better chance of being ONLY CLOSE to making heaven if they don't relapse into exam malpractice, cheating and other sins. When they are ONLY CLOSE TO GOD, GOD will now bring them into His Kingdom. GOD can not bring any one who is far from Him into His kingdom. That's my opinion.

Romance / Re: Women Are Not Always The Problem In Relationships by cosify: 3:43pm On Jan 05, 2014
San Miguel: Women are the problem. Na jeje Adam siddon for garden of Eden before a Woman (Eve) nack am fruit. Na so wahala take start. No be me talk am o, Na bible.
U really got me laughing. In fact, i laughed my heart out. But seriously, in as much as i understand you,i also understand the tread. I think the main issue is that of RESPECT. A guy and a girl must RESPECT each other so that their relationship can work-No persistent fault finding, correction should be done with love,no too much expectations from each other,no back biting because the enemy can creep in and destroy the relationship etc. Undoubtedly, the man is the head;but obviously, the woman is the neck. There is no way the head can stand without the neck.It means that the woman must be obedient to the man(not in sex before marriage or other evils),and the man must love and respect the woman not in those evils too.

I like the peace and communication now existing between achi4u and me_for_you after they used harsh and indecent words on each other on this tread. All those(of course they are many) who insulted each other on this tread should follow suit.
Politics / Re: Is Ebonyi No Longer Part Of Nigeria? by cosify: 7:30pm On Jan 02, 2014
Nightshift: If you're an Igboman, you should be ashamed for making the above statement. Like in other languages in the world, Igbo language has many dialects. Being that as it is, such differences in dialect can not question the Igboness of any particular area in Igboland.
Your poor understanding of dialects in Igboland does not mean that perhaps, a thousand people from your community will not comprehend words or sentences in some Ebonyi Igbo dialects.
First,i want to say that the issue of dialect is not the crux of the matter, but may directly or indirectly affect it. Then, lets put sentiments aside.I am an igbo person, and i know that some dialects are more general than others. I used to have Ebonyians from Ohaozara as neighbours.Their dialect was odd but was substantially understandable. In fact, I communicated easily with them. On the other side, my present neighbours hail from Ezza in Ebonyi. We have been neighbours for virtually 10 years now,and up till now, i find it hard to understand 90% of what they speak. The fact is that when they speak,it sounds like the clucking of hens, hence the difficulty in understanding them.(I do not mean to be insulting).I just want you to get the vivid picture of what i am saying.

Abagworo:

Change carried out with 30billion monthly while Ebonyi gets only 2billion. God help any Igbo man I meet live condemn Ebonyi because I will get him battered to comatose state. Ebonyi is rising gradually and happen to be victims of neglect under various States until they found their own with Abakaliki area being most maltreated under Anambra and Enugu States. The Afikpo area enjoyed reasonable patronage under Abia and are today still so attached to their Abia neighbours. God bless Ebonyi, God bless Igboland , God bless Nigeria.
If you batter your kinsman into a coma just because of a mere argument on the media, what will you now do to him when he tries to covet your land or wife- I guess you will kill him and his entire family. This is a pointer to the assertions of some nairalanders that Ebonyians are aggressive and warlike, or better still do not have a positive social ceredential. You made objective representaions in your reaction but spoilt them with your barbaric and murder tendencies. In your conclusion, you wished God's blessings upon Igboland. But i put it to you that you contradicted yourself, because there is hardly any God's blessings in a place where people inflict grevious bodily harm on others or commit murder at the slightest provocation.

Obi Okpor: you all are just bn too childish, most especially the person that said he served in the state.I must tell you that Ebonyi State is the heart of the East in terms of agriculture, education and in politics and military.Your problems is that you morons under-rate my beloved state.Am prouud to be one.Yes,we are honest and hard working and that is why you see Ebonyians in all the sectors of the economy.I don't blame the fool that said we are too local and we don't travel,i quote you low pathetic imbeciles wrong about my state. In the south -east,Ebonyi is the most intelligent,if you no like am,just "go and die" shikina. Can you idiots tell us your own states and we ll justify you idiots by that.I remain a son of the soil, and i must represent my state in any where. *PROUDLY EBONYIAN*
You sounded sentimental when you said Ebonyi is the heart of the East in those ramifications. Besides, if you claim that education in the South East revolves round Ebonyi, you should not have used those derogatory words in referring to some nairalanders no matter the provocation, because educated people choose their words carefully. You may have succeeded in lending weight to their insinuation that Ebonyians have a fighting attitude or are warlike. At the very worst, you can defend yourself by being blunt, not necessarily insulting.Don't forget that people have the right to observation, perception, belief and expression. Then your personal reaction to them even for years and decades may make them right or wrong, or make you an exception to their generalisations.
Religion / Re: All Catholics Will Go To Hell - Chris Okotie by cosify: 12:00pm On Dec 02, 2013
I am not surprise. Even the Holy Bible-God's self revelation is often brazenly criticized by both Christians and non-Christians. People should think of how to make their lives more grown, developed and worthy of emulation. They should not spend their productive time criticizing others. Sadly, even when they criticise, they condemn persons instead of their acts. Anyway I have been married for 29 years now. My wife and i love each other so much that either of us will be incomplete without the other. Her name is The Holy Catholic Church.

Richiy: If a female exhibits these traits, all these nl men wud say they r domineering and status-conscious, and therefore unmarriageable. Btw, av always been mentally strong.
A mentally strong female shuld exhibit characteristics that are not always the same with those of men. e.g she shuld not talk too much or unguardedly, or react rudely, but she shuld be frank sometimes. She shuld not be easily influenced.

Literature / Re: Memorable Stories From Your English Primary Books!!! by cosify: 7:46am On Oct 21, 2013
McCain1: In my days it was New Oxford English Course (NOEC) from Pry 1-6. This passage readily comes to mind: Mr. Giwa is a trader. He has a store in David's village. His store is full of things to sell. He
sells knives, soap, etc. One day, Mrs. Mary went to Mr. Giwa's shop. (End of first passage, then questions will follow).
My own version goes thus: Mr Giwa is a shopkeeper. He has a shop in Lawal's village. His shop is full of things to sell.He sells rice,beans,tomatoes.........

booqee: dem no fit hold d conji again bah?? Well i'm waiting for them to also drop their mary worship. Gud for them sha
Please,Catholics dont worship Mary, they only honour her as the mother of Jesus Christ. Mary occupies a prime place in Catholicism, and by extension,Christianity. It is important that you dont talk on something on which u are ill-informed. I am not flustered by this and other criticisms against the Catholic church because even th Holy Bible has been variously criticised by non-christians and even christians, but that does not make it invalid or unreliable. You should focus on your personal journey to salvation instead of faulting the patterns, regularities and pathways of others' journies.

Nairaland / General / Re: Advantages & Disadvantages Of Living Alone by cosify: 2:53pm On Aug 26, 2013
Nice write up. Personally i still believe living with somebody is better because it is not good to live in isolation.Man is gregarious by nature. And a human being is at it's best when he or she is living or working with someone else or in synergy. Having said that,in order to reduce the disadvantages of having a room mate,I prefer to live with somebody under the same roof, but we will have seperate rooms. Then we can share the toilet, bathroom and kitchen.
Religion / Re: Can One Go A Day Without Sinning? by cosify: 2:25pm On Aug 26, 2013
NO. It is not possible for these two reasons: (1) Our imaginations and thoughts and what we use our sense organs to do. (2)Our Lord Jesus taught us how to pray daily which goes thus: ''Our Father who art in heaven, hallow be thy Name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day,our daily bread, and forgive us our TRESPASSES,as we forgive those who TRESPASS against us,and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from all evil.'' Trespasses in the foregoing prayer means sin.It does not mean we should be commiting sin deliberately.
Religion / Re: Why Believers Should Speak In Tongues by cosify: 2:02pm On Aug 26, 2013
It is not compulsory to speak in tongues. The Holy spirit gives different gifts to people.Every body has the spirit of God in them when these gifts find expression. It is wrong to say that if you are not speaking in tongues, you don't have the spirit of God in you. Besides and frankly, speaking in tongues is the least of all the gifts, because it does not edify the whole church.Preaching the Word of God is according to St Paul better than speaking in tongues, because it edifies the whole church. One advantage of speaking in tongues is that it increases one's personal relationship with God. (Please i want us to invoke that same holy spirit you claim to only reside in the person speaking in tongues to help us with a divine understanding of the Word of God to avoid it's misinterpretation and misapplication).

Was it not the 2009 agreement? So, why did government enter into the agreement in d first place? It can not now say it can not meet d agreement. However, ASUU should revisit their demands meticulously with a view to reducing them a bit because government has other organisations, institutions and ministries to take care of.
