Vicjustice:
According to this narration, you are not seeking to travel as a tourist, but as an immigrant, and that is a tough one since you you are not pursuing it through the right channel.
Well, they don't have to become UK citizens before they can invite you to visit them, they are eligible to invite you if they hold the appropriate visas or resident permit, You may be able to get a tourist visa if you satisfy the requirements especially if you can prove that you have a considerable obligation to return to Nigeria for, but bear in mind that you can only remain in the UK if you condescend to become an absconding fugitive and become an illegal alien.
Wow! It's better I hold my peace than to be an illegal alien..Lol
Thank you very much sir, I have gained alot

Vicjustice:
What "they wrote" on it is called Remark, but the visa should be valid for 6 months howbeit, you can only be in the UK for a period not exceeding 2 weeks according to the remark.
And sure, you can get someone to invite you to visit, but then, you need to meet the requirements for a tourist visa, and also, you need to satisfy the visa officer on the need to issue you a 2 years visa.
Wow! Now I got the full picture.Very understandable..thank you very much sir and God bless you.
My american friends who just relocated to the UK 3months ago came to visit me where I was and they really want me to come stay with them. They both spake with my parents and they agreed to let me go..They are ready to sponsor me and take care of all my needs but the issue is that they just got their UK visa as well and they are not a UK citizens yet.So the husband told me to make research if there is anything that can be done. This is the only place I can get sincere help and advice..please help me on what to do
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by damsamty16(m): 3:55pm On Aug 18, 2014
Vicjustice:
I think the visa was a 6 months visa with a 2 weeks duration of stay.
Well, renewing a visa depends on the valid reason that you are applying for the renewal.
They wrote on it that it is valid from july30 to august 15..does it mean it was a 6months visa with 2weeks stay. And if I want to renew can I get someone in UK to invite me base on visitation and if yes sir,can I request for 2years or normal 6months?
Thanks sir

Good day wonderful people and oga justwise and vicjustice I hail you sir's.I was granted a UK visa july 30 to go for a scout jamboree event with a scout members of 16 from Nigeria..Our commander held our passport with him because he was the one incharge so we couldn't check our visa to know the duration of the visa until we got to heathrow.I felt so sad to see that I was given just 2weeks visa because ever since I have been following this thread I have never heard anybody post anything about 2weeks visa.with hope and faith I was able to get my mood back. The visa expired this month August 15 and I came back to Nigeria August 12.Please I need help on what to do if I want to renew my visa.
Thank you

biggiecafe: @damsamty16 what issues are u having with admission?i applied the first week the application opened and i didnt upload my transcript because of strike from polytechnics.so when i noticed the application is closing on july 15th then ,i quickly uploaded the statement of result and my certificates on the night of july 14 and bingo on july 15 i saw a message from them,i was even thinking its a rejection letter becos this is the fouth time i am applying to them and i was surprised and happy to get 3 admission letters from them that day.i think in germany hnd is the requirement for admisson into bachelor degree because it seems they dont accept ond,or only waec. hnd/A levels/ one year of university study with your toefl of min 80/120 ibt.

Finally, as regards specifically, the time it takes to secure visa through sponsorship, someone with grounded knowledge should please throw more light or quote relevant experiences.

Eke40seven:
I would have loved to put this matter to rest and let the euphoria you had created in the minds of your 'comrades' remain on high since i have agreed that RW UoAS is 'good' but it will be a great injustice to the informed opinion of my cousin whom I quoted (although he was never a mincer) to be regarded as trashy. I perceive that you are very thin- skinned and that has contributed to your bungling comprehension of subtle meanings in the words personally bolded for emphasis by you and consequently turning a blind eye to the caveats i made in both the beginning and end of my post knowing that my reply was in response to a particular question that was asked. And bro, whatever happened to opinions? You are in an advanced country and should know better!
Firstly, the reference to Netherland was obviously sarcastic and an ill veiled attempt to be funny as you can see the reference made to 'weed' since its legal there and on a serious note, the minimum wage in the Netherlands is the highest in Europe at over €1340/month (Germany doesn't have at the moment) only second to Luxembourg! So even if you walk dogs for a living, it is legally binding on your employer to pay above that! Kleve is less than 10 miles from Nijmegen closer than Moers and Krefeld the only exception being Emmerich, so it features.
Also you made reference to the parallels I gave as regard distance (another botchy conception of yours) I never made reference to time but just made an attempt to give readers an idea of the distance using an example they can relate with. Any right thinking person should know the contrasting situation in the two countries thus making appropriate adjustments and i even made reference to that in a previous post.
However, am happy the way this turned out, the info that has been revealed through this dialogue would have been very useful to many. For you to have provokingly responded all the way from Germany in order to defend and give details about student life there proves it. You must agree with me that its been worthwhile, if not for you, for the prospective students.
At this juncture, I bow my head in respect (waving a big white flag and waiting for a hearty embrace). PEACE!!!
P.S: The use of words like 'Botchy' and 'bungling' were used heartily and should not be taken seriously.
Nice one bro.let peace reign..one love

I won't boast that I have a superior language skill or that i don't make mistakes frequently but seriously.... 'talking' on a forum like this? Nairaland radio or TV? and .."i finished from"? ... considering the length of your post
You claimed that you are a product of Unilag?
Well, you could be though but for your information, working for long years at a 'business centre' in the school doesn't make you an alumnus.

dcitizen1: @damsamty16,

I have not received ur reply on how you select alternative course of study issue that i raised. I had clicked a link named additional course but a page appeared requiring me to select course of study. when i clicked on the drop down menu, no course options are listed for selection. I need ur help on how to correct this issue since u had been through it before. I have already applied for admission in the school but i need to select more courses of study. Thanks and i referring to rhein- waal university of applied science registration for admission process.
You said u've already applied which means you have submitted your application. You can only choose addittional course before submitting not after. If your first course has no limited entrance and u met all requirements,u are covered.Let's keep praying without ceasing we will receive the goodnews bro.
I stand to be corrected!
