Politics / A Nairalander Meets Dr Godwin Maduka And Alexreports by Dejean: 9:38pm On Oct 18, 2021
I was privileged to be present at an interactive session between Dr Godwin Maduka, Resident Doctors, and representatives of National Union of Anambra state students, UNEC chapter

The Good Doctor and a Gubernatorial contestant of the upcoming Anambra state elections under Accord party, laid bare his plans to move Anambra state forward when elected. He also entertained questions

I was able to recognize AlexReports his trusted personal assistant, had a lengthy discussion with him and took some photos for Nairalanders.

At the end of the session, it was quite clear that Anambra state will be prosperous in the hands of Dr Godwin Maduka

Ziggylady:

You are losing interest in marraigae because women want to buy properties in their name with their money?..

..You are not serious, please lose the interest fast so that only males truely ready for marriage will go into it,not thieves.

I know you are incapable of thinking but always try

Now where in my writeup did I imply that female property ownership can make one lose interest in marriage

THINK.. That's what the human brain is meant for

Celebrities / Re: 'Lionheart': Genevieve Nnaji Thanks Nigerians For ‘Changing The Narrative‘ by Dejean: 8:24pm On Jan 08, 2019
okwabayi:
This movie wasn’t bad. It had weak points but I hope it will pave a way to a new Nollywood style.
The drone shots were nice. I didn’t see any scenes where things were unnecessarily drawn out due to lack of imagination. I love the stamping of Igbo language in the movie. Although I don’t understand the language I enjoyed the scenes it featured in either way. I loved the family dinner scene, it was reminiscent of those from The Nutty Professor. I enjoyed how Onyeka Onwenu portrayed a strict but loving mother, she played it naturally. I believe the character was made for her. Nkem Owoh was funny in his own way.

The bad though was the story. The story was bland. They kept making an issue of how Genevieve’s character was a woman and how it’ll hinder her success in things yet everything smooths out in the end without explanation.
Kalu’s character realistically had no motivation for what he did. In real life only a step son/ bastard of the owner or fellow relative will do such. His character having no relation didn’t give weight to his actions. I believe his acting was underused. Onyeka was portrayed as a strict mother but didn’t extend this quality towards her son, why? Why was Paul in the movie again? Four days were pulled out of the countdown and never used to cushion the deadline. WTF.

If I continue with this write up I’ll hijack this thread.
On the whole the movie was good. I give it a 6.5/10 and will recommend it especially for the use of Igbo.
Constructive criticism at its peak

I hope lion Heart charts a new course in nollywood.
In a country with poor global image, an image made worse by her president, this is the least nollywood can do.

I tell people it's been a while since any movie marketed Nigeria( ivm, enugu, kano) the way lion heart did

I still think you should complete your criticism, you never can tell, even Genevieve might be reading

Good day everyone. I am a final yr biochemistry student. And i have been wondering what to do after school. Ive always dreamt of studying medicine but the situation here in Nigeria has discouraged me(due to how difficult it is to get the admission even after scoring good enough scores in Jamb and p.utme).

I'm speculating if i should take a direct entry form or i shld just head for my masters as soon as im done. Im quite young so i think if i go for my masters and phd as soon as im done i shall be a phd holder by 26 provided everything goes as planned. But then there is this medicine i also love.

Your advice would be appreciated especially those that have been in this situation before and have already passed through this, any regrets.
As someone who has been in your shoes, yet went ahead with medsurg, I'll advice you to ask that question midway through your service year

If you still have a strong resolve to go through with medsurg then, ride on

Send me a pm if you will
