IOM Migration at Ikeja: Medical examination is for 2 days compared to one day at the other clinics.
Okay. Thanks. Appreciate it

matic12: Hello house.

I just joined this trend today, and i feel elated to have seen how things are been operated here.

My brothers/sisters in the house, & my "co - winter applicants"; i got admitted into Usask for an Msc program in Elect Engineering (conditonal admission, in request of my degree certificate which is NOT been conferred since UI havent scheduled our convocation ceremony. But i was privileged to be considered for registration till the certificate is been issued ) & at present, my student visa application is under review in the Canadian embassy, Accra.

All in embryo, i urge my fellow Jan applicants, awaiting medicals/trv to remain calm & steadfast in prayers.

Though, i got a research & teaching assistantship offer from my supervisor (totalling $16000 p.a); and a funding letter stating the offer, was submitted alongside other necessary documents when i sent my package via the paper route on the 24th of July.

Till this present moment, my status still reads "being processed".

Lets keep hoping for better weeks ahead. God will definately grant US our heart desires. AMEN.
Welcome to University of Saskatchewan. You've gotten your visa already by God's grace. Funny enough I'm currently doing my MSc program in Electrical Engineering. Hoping to meet you in January.

Note that if you are using a Nigerian Mastercard on any ATM machine in Canny. The canny bank will charge you 2 dollars while the bank back home also collect theirs. GT collects about 420 naira. I use Stanbic IBTC and I was also charged 420 naira. Though there is a a particular bank that won't charge the 2 dollars. Try TD Canada ATM. Only the 420 will be charged and you are good to go.

pyzdan: @Dfodio, it is the school that gave me the option
Since the school gave you that choice. Then I guess it's fine to pick any of them. But if I was in your shoes. I would pick Regina. I won't want to be far from major activities since the main campus is situated there. Just an opinion brother. Good luck in your choice.

pyzdan: @Dfodio, i got admission with U of R and the school asked me to choose either their campus in City of Regina or city of Saskatoon.
I need ur advise since u are there.
i don't really know much about UofR but I will adviceyou send a mail to your school tto determine exactly where you will be taking your lectures. It should be in the city of Regina but I may be wrong. Send them a mail. You can't go wrong that way

kayjegs: @Constant57, GboyegaD and every other person that answered my questions on getting a US transit visa, I am very grateful. The issue now is getting a flight that will bypass the US. It seems I didnt get it while searching online. I need a flight from Lagos, Nigeria to Saskatoon, Canada which will enroute Europe to Canada and not US. My preferred departure dates is flexible between 28th to 31st August,2014 just to make sure I am in school latest by September 2nd, 2014. I will prefer a return ticket (anytime from June 2015) and non-direct flight which is cheaper than one-way and direct flight. If anyone can help with this search for the cheapest rate possible, I shall be very grateful.
you might not get Saskatoon straight from the European transit route. You might need to take a connecting flight to saskatoon from any of Toronto, Montreal, calgary or vancouver. Depending on your itinerary. Currently in Saskatoon. I came via Lufthansa. LAGOS TO FRANKFURT TO TORONTO TO SASKATOON.

craigj: Abeg House... For those of you that have traveled to Canada.
What was your route? And if through any of the European countries like France or Germany, did you get a transit visa?
I need to enlighten someone.......
you don't need a transit visa of you are transiting through Europe. I travelled via Lufthansa (Frankfurt). You don't need one. It's only if u are transiting through USA.

Hi Dami,

Glad you had a smooth ride to Frankfurt. I can only imagine how boring and tiring it is waiting for 6hrs for your connecting flight to Toronto (mine is 9hrs and I am already dreading it).

I know I have asked you this before, but let me reconfirm. I guessed one is entitled to two, free 23kg baggage allowance on Lufthansa. (I am flying economy). The notion I have been having is that it is only one 23kg bag that is free. Don't mind me, the load wey I get pass woman own. lol.

Wish you safe trip to Saskatoon. Cheers mate!
Yes it us two bro. 46kg in total

entertainment is also good. You get to watch movies. Listen to news or sports depending on your preferences. I watched Captain America: the winter soldier. It was cool

ValerieXO: hi, how did you pick your seat online? I really want to do that.
it depends on where you bought your ticket. Bought mine from flight hub. A link was attached to my electronic ticket. From the link I was able to view the type of plane I will be travelling with. The different seating arrangement and the available seats that have not been allocated. From there you can pick the one you want

you can't leave the airport without a Germany visa. There is wifi on the plane but you have to pay and register for it

DFodio: Experience was pretty smooth. The plane was big. I actually picked my seat online before moving. I like the window seat. Served us dinner and breakfast. For dinner. I chose Sphagetti with chicken. Took coffee with it and desertt. It was okay.

A woman actually collapsed on the flight just about 2 hours before getting to Frankfurt. People were scared. Thought it was Ebola but later got to know she was on medication.
had bread and tea for breakfast. Landing was pretty smooth. Though we had more male flight attendants than female one as applied to Emirates and Etihad. You will enjoy it. Presently waiting at the airport with two other Canada bound peeps. There is free wifi to access the IInternet. Pretty smooth. I'm sure you will enjoy it

ValerieXO: my biggest problem with this whole packing issue is that I now realize how much I love all my stuff and I don't want to leave anything behind. #excessluggagethings
i understand you. I had to drop a lot of things so as to ensure I don't leave out the essentials. It brings prioritising to a whole new level. Currently at Frankfurt airport. Got here via Lufthansa. Still have about 6 hours wait before heading to Saskatoon via Toronto. Journey was smooth.

Goke7: Please how do i get true certified copies of my waec certificates, university transcripts and certificates, a school is asking for this or the original copies, pls help me out, cos i can't release my originals thanks
Take it a Notary Public. Go there with your original and a photocopy. Once they cite the Original, they will place their notary seal on the photocopy and certify it a true copy. You can find a Notary public at the court or if you know someone that is a Lawyer.

I've got some questions. For those flying lufthansa, those that have flown lufthansa or any other airline for that matter, apart from the two 23kg luggage and one carry-on hand luggage. Do they allow a backpack/laptop bag as well or is it either the laptop bag or the hand luggage. Kindly advise
