I want to be a child of God but it seems very impossible for me to be born again cuz every time I repent, I always find myself in sin again. I wonder if God hasn't written me off cuz I can't even count the number of times I've prayed for forgivness and I still find myself doing it and I no longer have that boldness to even think of repenting talkless of praying to Him for forgiveness again. Please, I want anyone who is really leaving this christian life to tell me the way forward b4 it's too late for me. Thanks. |

You cannot overcome sin completely and you're not even required to.It's not true. if it isn't possible Jesus wouldn't have asked us to be holy and perfect even as God is perfect. I want to know how. |

Who owns this huge money? Ten million American dollars and one million Euros, equivalents of Nigeria’s N1.7 billion? In cash? And being moved out of Nigeria by four nondescript persons with no social or business pedigree? Could this huge sum be a proceed of money laundering by some politicians or funds being funnelled to some sources for terrorist activities? These are questions that officials of the State Security Services (SSS) are currently seeking answers to. Some SSS officials arrested the four men, believed to be of Northern origin, while they were attempting to board a flight to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The money was kept in sacks, commonly called Ghana Must Go bags. When the foursome could not explain how they came about the money and the purpose for which it was meant, the SSS officers promptly placed them on arrest and handed them over to officers of the Police Command at the Airport. The Inspector General, Mr. Hafiz Ringim yesterday ordered a Commissioner of Police to lead investigation into the money-cache. The chairperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs Farida Waziri has also sent a team of her officials to get to the root of thge matter, which is within the purview of her organisation, since it borders on suspicion of money laundering and terrorism fund. A source said that the four men, who looked “ordinary”, could not explain what they were doing with such huge sums of money, even as they claimed to be on their way to the United Arab Emirates. It was further gathered that when the money was brought out from the bags and counted, the total sum was about $ 10m (N1.5b) and one million Euros about N205m. Said a source: “You know that there has been serious suspicion that some politicians and even governors, move money out of the country when the allocations from the Federal Allocation comes. This large amount could be one of such. It is also possible that the money is for some other activities that are terrorism related. You know this period, where there is crisis all over the country, anything could happen, really. ” While Nigerian Compass on Saturday could not confirm from Police authorities, the spokesman of the EFCC, Mr. Femi Babafemi confirmed that his commission was aware of the development. According to him, “ The EFCC is aware of the matter and we believe it is witin the purview of the EFCC to unravel the source of the money. We are already investigating the matter and would make it public soon ” It was further learnt that the suspicion of security agencies on the source of the money was not unrelated with the crises that have become the lot of some parts of Northern Nigeria in the past one year and the incessant bomb blasts in the country recently. While Borno State has been witnessing mayhem from a religious sect, Boko Haram, Jos in Plateau State has become a shadow of itself, over internecine wars, that border on both ethnic and religious reasons. Between October 1 and December last year, Abuja, the once peaceful Federal Capital Territory, has witnessed two separate multiple bomb blasts that has tens of persons killed. That is in addition to similar blasts in some other parts of the country. |

NO fewer than seven persons have been killed in Lokoja in the protest that greeted the location of the Federal University brought to Kogi State. Three of the casualties died on Friday in Aiye-toro- Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state. However, the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Hassan Salawu, has said the crisis was politically motivated. The other four casualties were recorded in Kabba. Also, about 50 vehicles were destroyed by rampaging youths and many people injured in the crisis. Youths from Kabba had embarked on a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday to protest the siting of the federal university in Lokoja by the state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, but by Thursday, the crisis had assumed a dangerous dimension, leaving many people, including some policemen, injured. On Friday, the crisis spread to Aiyetoro-Gbede and Mopa Moro in Ijumu and Mopa Moro Local Government Areas respectively, resulting in the destruction of properties. State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Honourable Hassan Sala-wu, disclosed that about 50 vehicles were destroyed and many people injured in the Friday crisis instigated by politicians who wanted to disrupt the senatorial primary scheduled for the day. Salawu also informed Sunday Tribune that no election was held in the senatorial district on Friday. He declared the election purportedly held in Kabba as null and void, calling on the national secretariat to order for a fresh primary in the zone. The state police spokesman, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi said he could not ascertain the casualty until Monday, but assured that calm had returned to the troubled spots. |

Moukhtar Ibrahim Aminu, the Nigerian citizen who was arrested and detained for 10 days for insulting" Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State on Facebook, has been released following an international uproar. Moukhtar had been thrown behind bars by a Dutse magistrate judge, Mustapha Saad, who ordered that he be remanded in prison until February 7th, 2011. Moukhtar's father, Alhaji Aminu Moukhtar told SaharaReporters today that the Attorney General of Jigawa state discontinued the case suddenly. He said after Moukhtar was released, the governor ’s aides requested that their principal wanted to see him at the Governor's Lodge to "discipline" him as a father, a proposal Alhaji Moukhtar said he rejected. The governor then threatened to re- arrest Moukhtar and try him under the Sharia law. Moukhtar and his father have since fled Jigawa state. He said they drove all night to Kano where Moukhtar remains hospitalized at an undisclosed hospital. Moukhtar was first detained by the police in Abuja for 10 days after Governor Lamido reported him to the police for "criminal defamation" regarding his Facebook postings against the governor. Moukhtar was moved to Dutse on Monday and charged under a strange law. Following his night in prison custody, the story went international after SaharaReporters published the story, with Governor Lamido suffering the scorn and contempt of posters across the world. The UK- based Nigeria Liberty Forum (NLF) also began a massive campaign to seek the release of Moukhtar from prison. Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu says he plans to go into hiding with his son to avoid further arrest and detention. |
