I applied for my sister who was visiting me in canada and she was approved. We used the new portal and from the start of the application we specified that this was an “outside CAnada application”. Please has anyone here with visitor visa status in Canada successfully applied for a study permit while in Canada? A family relative is in a dilemma because she was denied study permit while here in Canada based on insufficient funds and that the purpose of visit is not consistent with a temporary stay based on what she provided in her application. Please note that she had paid the full tuition fee for the one year program plus approx N10M in her account.

One other thing is that she stated her Nigerian address as her residence but someone said she should have used her current address in Canada. The reason she did that was because of the belief that she is not eligible to apply for study permit from inside Canada. Note that she is still within her 6month validity as a visitor.

Must she go back to Nigeria to reapply? We can address the financial concerns raised, it's just navigating this issue on a visitor status that is our main concern. Her husband and kids are back in Nigeria and are worried as well.

well, you are expected to show availability of tuition and living expense for the first year, so, 48million looks sufficient. I think something else is missing, probably in your SOP

122000 * todays exchange rate (555 naira)
= 67,747,667 naira

You paid 2500 CAD deposit and submitted 48,000,000 naira POF.

I think you can see where the issue lies.

Generally, if you have a spouse in Canada that is either a student or a worker, you can enter Canada as a visitor and then apply for SOWP under your spouse. eventually, the principal applicant can apply for PR with you as a dependent, and after some time, citizenship application can follow if you want.

Also TRV=Temporary Resident Visa not Visit visa. Study, work and visit visa all fall under TRV. The counterfoil stamped into your passport after any visa approval is a representative of TRV that permits entry to Canada. The only difference is that with visit visa, you will not be issued a paper document when you enter canada.

Hello everyone, please I need help and advice on how to go about my children’s application. I'm a little bit confused about their status here now.
We just moved to Canada as a family. My wife came here as a student (Study Permit) and I was given a Spouse Open Work Permit based on my wife’s status (student). We moved to Canada with our children who were issued study permit based on their mother’s status as a student. They are now in a public elementary school.
My wife just got her Post Graduate Work Permit approved and she is working now, I got my spouse open work permit too, but my children’s study permit will expire in a few months’ time.
There is no information on what to do for my children status, when their study permits expire.
What do I do next for my children?

What visa did you get for UK? if you have the funds, I will advise your whole family goes to UK first then u can go to Canada from there while your family applies for a Canada visa and stay in UK till they get it. Just because things are too hard in Nigeria now.

You can upload your letter of completion if you have it. But if you are yet to complete your final exams and have all your grades released and approved by your faculty, then you might not be able to secure a letter of completion yet.

Additionally, you can get a “TO WHOM LETTER” from your faculty for graduation invitation purposes. That letter should state the date you are expected to graduate and the name of your guest documented on the letter. Inform your faculty or programme officer that you need such a letter. They know how to draft it.

Furthermore, you can also write a confirmation of invitation letter to affirm you are inviting the guest mentioned above, and you explain the arrangement you have made for the duration of their stay in terms of accommodation and living.

Quick question for anyone that have invited their parents to attend their graduation in canada. Did you upload your letter of completion of graduation letter? Which document did you use to show your graduation timeline?

So sorry about your refusal.. since there is just one refusal reason, take your time and tackle it well.

I will suggest that you request for reconsideration and highlight the documents that u sent before as home ties and politely explain to the VO that you do have home ties and ask them to reconsider the decision- maybe they missed it. You can send this via email and webform and you don’t have to pay for it so you won’t lose anything. While doing that, you should take time and prepare a new application, gather sufficient and stronger documents. You can probably add your fiancée and pictures and maybe a wedding invitation letting them know u will return for your wedding or to ur husband: just establish a strong and realistic story.
I also think you should inform your school of the possible delay and let them know you may need to defer. You can also contact ur school international student advisor for advice

Take care with your next application and make accurate explanations and you will be fine. Best wishes.

I went to my MPs office and they are literarily doing nothing and just saying I need to wait till the processing time elapse.
Eligibility Started June 14th. Then I started to fire email, and webform everyday.
Yesterday I sent an email to all of the offices from my own email telling them how depressing I am. Here I attached my transcript enrolment letter, updated finance, and landed document to Abuja, Lagos, London, and Nairobi.
I couldn't sleep overnight so one of my good brothers here that I pray that Allah grant his wife the PPR (today Bihitnillah) called me and we spoke and pray that we hear from IRCC soon. After some minutes I received an email from Abuja that I need to send a webform and I immediately responded to their email by saying I have done that 1000000 times. Well, after like 1 hr I stood up to see what webform they even asked me to send. As I sat on my chair like this I just saw the Golden email from on my wife's email (I have access to my wife's email) and it was at that time that I went on sujud (prostration) to Glory the Lord that created the earth and peg it with the rocks.

I think it is okay to use your wife’s school as address.

My wife and kids recently got their Canada study permits approved. My wife intends to travel alone in August and leave the kids behind, to allow her time to settle. The plan is for me to go meet her with the kids even though I am yet to even apply for any kind of visa.

Here's my worry. Issuance of Canada visa application is so unpredictable with regards to the timing. I want to apply for SOWP, but since I stated in wifey's LOE during her application that I won't be going with her (more like home ties), I am sceptical.

So, I am trying to apply for a visitor visa now, considering that it takes a while for IRCC to respond. However, i am confused as to how to sort out the invitation and Canada address part. In the form I am currently filling on the new portal, I used my wife's school address which I know is wrong. Also, the work experience part is giving me issues. It keeps from progressing by asking me to list all the jobs I have done in the last 10 years, when in actual fact I haven't changed jobs in 17 years. Every attempt to proceed from this part is futile.

I need someone to guide me on how best to approach my visa application, please.

If the admission is not fully funded, maybe he should focus on working for sometime until you guys get a PR in canada then he can study cheaper. It may be stressful for both of you to be in school at thesame time and only working 20hrs each.

It's different. the person got PPR and submitted their passport to receive their TRV counterfoil on their passport, so they can track it on the VFS website to know the status and location.

Hi: just a thought. Rather than bombarding them with enquires on the status of your application why not “Request for expedited processing of your application”. It’s just another way to title your email and add some urgency to it. Except you don’t have any reason to request for a quicker action on your application
