Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has today issued the following apology:
I have spoken with the manager since the game at Old Trafford and I realise I got things wrong.

"I've not only let him down, but also the Club and what it stands for and I'm sorry. I made a mistake and I regret what happened.

"I should have shaken Patrice Evra's hand before the game and I want to apologise for my actions.

"I would like to put this whole issue behind me and concentrate on playing football."

Liverpool have accused Luis Suárez of misleading the club, the striker has apologised for not shaking Patrice Evra's hand and Kenny Dalglish has described his television interview with Sky as not befitting the conduct of a Liverpool manager as Anfield issued an unequivocally contrite response to the condemnation that followed their performance at Old Trafford.
Liverpool's managing director, Ian Ayre said: "We are extremely disappointed Luis Suárez did not shake hands with Patrice Evra before yesterday's game. The player had told us beforehand that he would, but then chose not to do so. He was wrong to mislead us and wrong not to offer his hand to Patrice Evra. He has not only let himself down, but also Kenny Dalglish, his team-mates and the club. It has been made absolutely clear to Luis Suárez that his behaviour was not acceptable.

Sometime before christmas I was First Bank Ajah market branch for a transaction I heard a female staff of the bank explaining to a woman who has come to complain that her money was withdrawn by unknown persons through the ATM when she had her card with her. The female staff was telling the woman tha it was impossible that maybe someone from her end(the compliant) did the withdrawal and if she wants to make an official compliant she should fill a form and the CCTV recording would be retrived from the archives upon the payment of N25,000. whereas the woman was complaining of a loss of N18,000.

[b]After Sir Alex Ferguson described the defeat to Manchester City as "our worst ever day", we present a selection of some of his other dismal days and the teams that eventually won the title.

Newcastle 5 Man Utd 0 (October 20, 1996)

Kevin Keegan's Newcastle blew United away at St James' Park. The Magpies had lost the Community Shield 4-0 earlier in the season but the same side got it right as Darren Peacock, David Ginola, Les Ferdinand, Alan Shearer and Philippe Albert found the target.

Title winners: Man Utd.

Southampton 6 Man Utd 3 (October 26, 1996)

A week after the humiliation at St James' Park, United came unstuck spectacularly again. After Eyal Berkovic gave Saints an early lead, Roy Keane was sent off, and Saints took over with an Egil Ostenstad hat-trick and further goals from Berkovic and Matt Le Tissier. David Beckham, David May and Paul Scholes replied for the visitors.

Title winners: Man Utd.

Chelsea 5 Man Utd 0 (October 3, 1999)

United goalkeeper Massimo Taibi gifted Chelsea's Gus Poyet a first minute goal - and the hosts never looked back as United's 29-game unbeaten run was emphatically ended. United's hopes ended when Nicky Butt was sent off, with Poyet, Chris Sutton, Jody Morris and a Henning Berg own goal compounding a miserable day for Ferguson's men.

Title winners: Man Utd.

Man Utd 1 Liverpool 4 (March 14, 2009)

Cristiano Ronaldo gave United a 23rd-minute lead but Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard (penalty) turned things around before Nemanja Vidic's straight red card 15 minutes from time. The visitors made the man advantage tell in the closing stages, with Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena netting.

Title winners: Man Utd.

Politics / Re: Court Nullifies LASTMA Powers To Impose Fine On Offenders by dome2: 5:04pm On Sep 22, 2011
The issue of instant fine for a traffic offence is done all over the world. In Europe and North America you are issued a ticket and then asked to pay a fine. When this happen you have two options,
1) You either pay up or
2) You refuse to pay and the issuing authority will then they take you go to court for traffic violation.
When Road safety(FRSC) started in the early 90s, when they issue you a ticket they tell u that if you refuse to pay u can have your day in court(I don't know if they still do this).
Likewise LASTMA cannot force you to pay or impound your car indefinitely.
The mistake they made with this driver in question is that they allowed him to take them to court first when it is supposed to be the other way round. So the case in question is not that of traffic violation but illegal imposition of fine. It is now left for you either to pay quietly or go through the court process(length of time and cost).

Last night United was just too much for spurs. imagine SAF fielding a team with 7 new comers/non regulars
De Gea
Phil Jones
Evans
Smalling
Cleverly
Ashley Young
Welbeck
with an average age 22years.
Considering the other players(substitutes, injured and undressed) that can form another team and beat any EPL team

Lindegaard/Kuszczak

Fabio Rio Vidic Rafael

JS Park Giggs Carrick Valencia

berbetov hernanadez

For me I believe the EPL is as good as won for United. The only challenge this season is the Champions league. With the Bermuda triangle of Barca: Inesta, messi and Xavi, Man United's treble will be domestic EPL, Carling and FA.

Larufa:

Please everybody go back and watch Yekini scored Nigeria 1st ever goal at the World cup, the nearest person to Yekini was Emmanuel Amuneke. After the goal was scored Amuneke just held the post and turned back. He did not make any attempt to celebrate the goal. It was Uche Okechuckwu, a defender, that came all the way from the back to celebrate with him 1st. In fact it was a known fact that the head of the hatred mafia was the team captain - Stephen Keshi, remember the issue of the invitation of Chidi Nwanu.

What I believe Olishe is doing now is trying to clear his conscience and right the record.

You took it right from my mouth. This has been my observation for the past 17years (since 1994)

For me its either the story is untrue, I say untrue because he narrator did not say that he has informed his lawyers. considering he is based in America when they are aware of their rights and are ready to sue for the smallest of things or the person involved is the coolest cucumber on earth, that gets slap on the right cheek and turns the left. If I was the one, I would have taken my $700 then go and get some boys from the Igbo joint at Ajao Estate to come and give the workers at the Arik office maximum shishi(beating).

I have always told anyone who cares to listen that IBB will never contest an election in Nigeria. He knows that if he does he shall lose woefully and be demystified. But he is always interested in who becomes the President. He does not want the Rawlings treatment to happen to him. You should not be surprised that he supports GEJ against Atiku.

Rooney signs new five-year contract with United

Wayne Rooney has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester United, ending speculation about his future.

All smiles for Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney after the contract was agreed

All smiles for Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney after the contract was agreed

It brings to an end an amazing ten days of claim and counter claim coming out of Old Trafford which began with Rooney refuting manager Sir Alex Ferguson's claim that he was suffering from an ankle injury and seemed set to culminate with the player being sold in January.

After 24 hours of high-level talks between the player's representatives, Sir Alex Ferguson, chief executive David Gill and the Glazer family, Rooney has decided to stay with the club and immediately penned a new deal through to 2015.

Sir Alex has told radio station Key 103 that Rooney has said sorry to him and his team-mates for the event of the past week. "Wayne has apologised to me and the players,'' Sir Alex said. "He will also do so with the supporters.''

Rooney said in an official club statement: "I'm delighted to sign another deal at United. In the last couple of days, I've talked to the manager and the owners and they've convinced me this is where I belong. I said on Wednesday the manager's a genius and it's his belief and support that have convinced me to stay.

"I'm signing a new deal in the absolute belief that the management, coaching staff, board and owners are totally committed to making sure United maintains its proud winning history - which is the reason I joined the club in the first place.

"I'm sure the fans over the last week have felt let down by what they've read and seen. But my position was from concern over the future. The fans have been brilliant with me since I arrived and it's up to me through my performances to win them over again."

Sir Alex tried to explain the situation after a week at the centre of a media storm.

"It's been a difficult week, but the intensity of the coverage is what we expect at Manchester United," said the United boss. "I said to the boy that the door is always open and I'm delighted Wayne has agreed to stay.

"Sometimes, when you're in a club, it can be hard to realise just how big it is and it takes something like the events of the last few days to make you understand. I think Wayne now understands what a great club Manchester United is.

"I'm pleased he has accepted the challenge to guide the younger players and establish himself as one of United's great players. It shows character and belief for what we stand for.

"I'm sure everyone involved with the club will now get behind Wayne and show him the support he needs to produce the performances we know he is capable of."
