Please people, what can make a car have the following ill-performances :
* Tardy/Draggy acceleration or pick-up from start, necessitating need to fully depress the Accelerator & yet the response is weaker & not matching the expected output?
* Losing power & speed when I get to an inclination, hilly place or a rising plane with severe struggling, needing to depress the throttle to high revs?
* Suddenly becoming very freer, faster, speedy, lighter and with much power when you gets to a levelled road or a down sloping way, needing you to deploy the brake pedal. Performs then exceedingly well with good torque, throttle response & speed even at low revs level!
* More fuel consumption?

NB: Smooth engine-running sound is not changed by engaging/switching on the AC
Idling is smooth with cool/solemn sound though dashboard/instrument panels shows idling at 500 -700 revs/min (0.5 - 0.7) & the needles hovers between these 2 values

The e90 325i is a good car, a friend of mine has one, no real troubles. I only remember him changing the power steering pump, it's weightier than the e46, driven it a few times. Not as punchy as an e46 330i from the-go, but its got a great acceleration almost on a par. I do not know the common problems, my friend says it's been problem free since his dad passed it on to him.

I don't know well about the is250, but the 2001/2 is300 I have been driven in. A punchy little car like a 3 series. Fun to drive, Wanted to pick it but price too steep for the looks and age. Still not as zippy as a 330i.
in my opinion, the Lexus would be more 'reliable' but the BMW would be my choice. I think the 2001 is300's performance would be below the 2006 325i

Guys my 318ci performance has dropped, I'm gonna take it for servicing at he end of the month. Any suggestions on what I should change considering it's an old car. Or what I should look for. Also i bought an obd2 scanner today, it fit my car but then when i launched the app on my android phone ( Torque on Play store) the app said none of it protocols fit my car(BMW 318ci 1999-2001.. not sure) Now i tried it on a honda accord 2005 i think and it worked perfectly. Guys is it possible my car is not supported ?

How come the lights took so long to deliver. also for the front lights are you gonna install them yourself or give a mechnik. i would like to see how you do it. finally do u know of any retrofit for the bmw stereo system that allows you to play cds

Hello People. I have a problem with my bmw 318ci. Whenever i press the brakes it squeals. I just had the bearings changed, it stopped for awhile but the noise has returned. anyone have any idea on what the problem might be and how to fix it. On another note guys, say i was to have about 1.8mil to 2.0mil, would i be able to get a good x5 within that range. Then, how reliable is the x5 off the tarmac i know its classified as an SAV but i mean its all or four wheel drive whats the point of that if it will get stuck in mud or sand. Finally would you guys suggest an x3 even though i think the ground clearance is sub par to other vehicle of its class?
