TV/Movies / Nigerian Biblical Short Film by Dynisty: 10:38pm On Jul 13, 2013
There is an undeniable pattern that runs consistently throughout the history of mankind. It can be found all through the Bible in the stories of Ishmael and Isaac, Esau and Jacob, Saul and Paul, the two Abraham’s, the two Adams and, of course, Cain and Abel. It’s the age old struggle between good and evil; more specifically, the fight between the spirit man and the flesh man.

In case you didn't know yet, let me fill you in: I'm a Jerome Damon Fan!!! So big a fan am I that I was labelled a stalker by some of his many other fans. After initially taking a bit of offence to this, I have to admit that perhaps there's more truth to this than not. In fact, I've posted the photos here to prove it!

After getting seriously lost, I eventually found his house & 'begged' him to take a photo with me and he agreed. Awesomeness!!! What really blew me away, was when he took his FIFA Medal out of it's casing and allowed me to touch it, hold it, keep it (all the while knowing that I may have crossed from fan to stalker). As much as I wanted to run with that coin, I am proud to say that I didn't.

Truth is we've known each other for a number of years and believe it or not, I was actually invited over to his house just to celebrate & pray with him and his family. One thing I can tell about the man though (and this is just one of the many reasons for maintaining my JD Fan Status), is that after all his past & recent successes, he remains humble but more importantly grounded in Christ.

Religion / Who's Story Is The Story Of Jesus? by Dynisty: 8:45am On Aug 02, 2010
It's a straightforward message when summed up goes back to this one simple sentence; "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life".

This simple story of Jesus, a savior who came down to earth to redeem humanity from our state of brokenness has ended up sounding complicated. Some of us think that this story is meant for a group of people. Some think that it is for an exclusive or special group of people. Some of us think it's for people who wake up on Sunday's to head off to church buildings. Some of us think it’s a message only for the poor and those desperate for an escape. Some of us think it's for the lost while others think it's for the found. Actually, we seem unsure who this story is for. Who should be telling the message? And who should be listening to the tale?
What about some of us who have shunned the story of Jesus Christ so many times? I don't know, maybe because it sounds cliché, maybe because we think someone is trying to recruit you to a church, or maybe we think it's all fiction.

Do you think this message of a God sending his Son is not for you? Is this your story to comprehend and maybe investigate? Do you feel that you can tell someone about the story of Jesus? Is this story of Jesus to tell and to be part of?

Religion / Christian Dilemmas: by Dynisty: 8:02am On Jul 30, 2010
We were asking some really tough questions today such as: Is it alright for a Christian to plead not guilty for a criminal he knows is Guilty; A Christian Doctor to sign a form for a patient he knows is not valid or do you think that it is alright for Christian to pay taxes, knowing some goes to unethical, unbiblical practices?

All of these I would consider as pretty hectic dilemmas. How would you handle these situations?

Godsmercyandgrace.com says that we should consider this subject by asking ourselves some questions with a teachable Spirit and with careful study of Bible scripture.

Read 1 Corinthians 10:23-31
Does this activity edify myself or another believer? Does this activity bring glory to God? Could this cause give Christ a bad name, since we are ambassadors and representatives of Christ, everything we do is often seen by others as a reflection of Christ, bringing reproach on Him, the Church and body of Christ.

Read 1 Corinthians 6:12
Though it may be lawful for me, I need to ask myself if this activity is spiritually beneficial or is this activity enslaving to me?

Read 1 Corinthians 8:7-3
Does this activity defile my conscience? Could this activity hinder the growth of a fellow believer? Could I cause another brother to stumble, if so I would be better not to be involved in something that could affect a brother? They may have a weaker conscience. It could cause them to believe this is OK and even get themselves involved in something much more worse. For another it could divisions and disunity between brothers that could affect the whole body of Christ.

Let me know what you think? Do you think that this is the right way to go about solving dilemmas?

Religion / Why Did Jesus Choose Those 12 Guys? by Dynisty: 8:00am On Jul 30, 2010
Why did Jesus select the 12 disciples that He did? Wouldn’t it have been better to select people that knew the Torah and would we able to just use their knowledge of the law to understand where Jesus came from and why He was there? Perhaps a few celebrities and maybe an army general added in could have had much more impact! Why go and get 12 ragamuffins to be you closest friends? The locals couldn’t stand tax collectors and Matthew was a tax collector; and that’s only 1 of the 12!

Jesus said in the Book of Matthew, in chapter 9, that only sick people need doctors, and He came for those that are spiritually sick; the sinners. Not the righteous. Are there people that don’t need Jesus? No. But there are plenty of people that think they don’t need Jesus because life is good for them and their success is their God. You can’t tell them anything, because they rely on themselves and their own success.

Do you know anyone like that? What do you think will happen to them if they lose all their wealth, or they lose that well-paying job and are left with very little? How will THAT change them?

Jesus came to this earth to save us all from the death that our sin will inevitably bring. He came to set us free (John 8:36), every single one of us, because we ALL need it (Romans 3:12).

Don’t let your success be you god, don’t let your selfishness be your god; let JESUS be your God, and receive new life. (Romans 6:23)

God Bless

Food / I Like Tarts: Well, Most Tarts Anyway: by Dynisty: 7:57am On Jul 30, 2010
Dictionary Definition of Tart:
1) - a pastry shell with shallow sides, no top crust, and any of various fillings.
2) - a woman of easy virtue

1) So during 30 seconds the other day, the word up for discussion was tart. It was great having Candy join Alistair & I because we ended up talking about all kinds of different tarts. Milk tart, apple pie, lemon meringue. When Candy started boasting about her mom's African Tart which is really a German Tart, we had to put her on the spot by making us one as a first hand testimony of how good her mom's pie really is.

I gotta tell you, Candy made good on the challenge and yes it's really that good. So we thought we'd share (at least) the pictures (attached) & the recipe with you:

German Tart / Apricot Squares

2 C flour
1C confectioners’ sugar (castor sugar)
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
Juice of 1 lemon and grated zest of that lemon
1 C softened butter
3 egg yolks
1 tin smooth apricot jam

Mix together all the ingredients except the apricot jam until it becomes a dough.
Take 2 thirds of the dough and flatten into a greased baking dish to ¼ inch thick
Lightly heat the jam and mix until easily spreadable. Spread this over the dough in the dish until the dough is all covered. Take the rest of the dough and grate the rest onto the top of the tart.
Put into the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 40 min.

2) The second kind of tart I don't like. In fact, I absolutely dislike it when girls or women act 'tarty' in order to get noticed by guys. You may very well get noticed but whether or not you'll be respected & valued, is a completely different story.

The thing about acting all 'tarty', is that it sends a message of easy or cheap. To me it speaks of a misunderstanding of identity & self-worth. You are valuable, much more than you may think. So valuable and loved, that Jesus was willing to pay for & purchase you with His life.

And don't forget, we are talking about the Son of God making this most expensive, priceless payment. You were created in the image of God & purchased at a very high cost, don't let anybody cheapen that. You are valuable. Share your thoughts at www.1africa.tv/blog3.php

Wow, finally there is a WTTM blog- It is super awesome!!!Well, we would really like to motivate and encourage one another as the youth of Africa; to move and make it happen for ourselves. You are young and the opportunities are endless. This blog aims to keep you up dated with the latest achievements in the African continents and you get the opportunity to comment and be part of the heated discussions…!!!Watch the space AFRICA-lots 2 come!!!Let’s do it for JESUS!!!…

Just a little inspiration:
Our Nation is the stimulation of all minds as they are inclined and decentralized to become new
Inventions and the next sensations.
The divinity of our humor makes us the best consumers as we walk in the street with dust at our feet .
Purification occurs, once one has cursed all evil to become a healer with a greater powers that will never go sour…
My fellow Africans let’s not lose hope for this nation.

Religion / Is Your Loyalty To Jesus On Public Display? by Dynisty: 7:54am On Jul 30, 2010
A few years back I met a guy named Matt who was from Chester in England and he was telling me a bit about English fans in his town & their love for football. How they’d all be dressed up & fanatically cheer on their team in the stadium.

One thing that I found interesting in sharing this story with me was the fact that when their team had lost a match, many of the fans would just zip up their coats & kinda hide their allegiance out of fear of being ridiculed or harassed by the winning team’s fans. I guess that’s one way of preventing hooliganism.
It’s easy to be critical of Matt but how often have you & I been guilty of being the best fans in the world when our team’s won but almost ashamed & sulking away when they lost? Probably more often than we care to admit.

Well, in good times or bad times, it seems the apostle Paul couldn’t care less of being ridiculed, harassed or about ‘hooliganism’, because Paul had a loyalty that was most definitely out in the open—a loyalty to Jesus Christ. In fact, he underlined this sentiment by telling the church in Rome, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ” (Rom. 1:16).

In good times or in bad times he remained a loyal & committed fan because he knew that gospel of Jesus Christ was “the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes”. His life was a testimony of this salvation / transformation & he just couldn’t & wouldn’t keep it to himself.

Is your loyalty to Jesus on public display? If not, our loyalty to Jesus should be seen and heard in our lives.
Sports / Beyond The World Cup 2010 by Dynisty: 11:38am On Jul 21, 2010
Now that we have successfully hosted and welcomed the world to our soil for the greatest sporting spectacle in the world, and as a continent embraced people from different countries and cultures. Now that the cheers, the vuvuzela's, the stadiums and the celebrations have faded and grown still, I am left with some questions which shout loudly in my head - what happens to the dream? What is the African dream, and where do we go from here? Is there a still hope beyond this dream? Dare we keep dreaming, and now that we've shown the world that Africa can and is able, can we go further, beyond the dream? These are my burning questions,

Religion / Are There People In Your Life That Don't Have A Relationship With Jesus by Dynisty: 11:28am On Jul 21, 2010
The idea of having someone close to you (a parent, a teacher or even a brother that doesn’t know Jesus) should spur you into action! Let’s cut to the chase here: how do you feel knowing that someone special may go to hell? Not too great I’d assume. We have a responsibility to do something right?
Well, let’s have a look at what you can do. Remember, that saving someone is God’s job, not ours. Our responsibility is to take the Good News (the Gospel) of Jesus to others, and we can do this in various ways. So here’s a practical way of doing what we can to help others to know Jesus:

1. Make a list of people that you want to see come to Jesus. Let’s start small, with just 2 names for now, and then build on it. Write the full names of these people down. Start a little book if you want, especially for this purpose.
2. Speak to God about them. Take these people that you have named, before God. Fast if you feel you need to. Just present them and your desire for them before the Father.
3. Spend time with the people you have selected. Judge how spiritual receptive they are. Are they hostile towards the Gospel? Well just love them, show Jesus to them in your actions and your attitude and the way you conduct yourself. If they are keen to hear about Jesus, then tell them! Share your own story with them. Tell them about how YOU were saved. That is an irrefutable witness of Jesus’ goodness! Think about how you used to feel and be sensitive to the people you are sharing with. Invite them with you to church if they’d like to go. Don’t be discouraged!
4. When people are ready to make the commitment to become a believer, help them! Pray for and with them and help them to understand what it all means. Encourage them and stand by them so they feel loved and supported. This is a BIG deal!
5. Assist your friends to find a church they can be a part of. They are now part of a wonderful family; so help them to connect. Ask them to join your Bible study group or Care Cell and encourage them!

Let’s commit to doing this. Let’s show our commitment to these people that we’ve selected by doing the best we can to see them hear about and come to know Jesus. Be sensitive, be kind, be prayerful, be dedicated, and let God do the rest!

Be blessed

Brad

Religion / I Love Puppetry by Dynisty: 11:26am On Jul 21, 2010
Some years back I worked as a youth worker for Scripture Union. One of my fondest memories is when we did a puppetry show in a local primary school and my puppet got attacked by one of the kids for being so mean. This, while some of the other kids in the group were using some very creative language in to show how much they disliked my puppet’s character. As you can imagine, there was quite a bit of uproar in the classroom but as a team, we had a great laugh about the whole incident afterwards.

My puppet was a bad character & perhaps 'deserved' the kind of treatment it got. This made me ask myself: What kind of response or reaction do I generate, as people interact with me? While I’d be interested to know how those who interact with me would answer, I think the answer lies in who’s hand is maneuvering the puppet.

The apostle Paul writes to the Galatians in chapter 2: 19 – 20, and says "I have been put to death with Christ on his cross, so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me." Unlike the puppets I used to have fun with, we have a choice in deciding who the hand is that directs our lives. So, who are you allowing to direct you?

Actually they bought their tickets in advance, Some of them are quite pricey and the accommodation as well, Would you leave if your team got kicked out but you already purchased expensive tickets and booked the hotel? I doubt anyone would really just leave. Besides they could still enjoy visiting South Africa, What I saw was Brazilians getting their tickets from the hotel for todays game, Crazy I know,

I think nobody predicted Netherlands beating Brazil. In fact, here in South Africa so many Brazilians bought tickets for the Semi-finals believing they would be in. Cape Town is filled with Brazilians who came over for the Semi-finals only to be disappointed with their loss to Netherlands.
