Voltaire made himself a bitter enemy of Christ through his entire life. But at his death, he sent for the priest to get reconciled with the church. When his infidel friends who had respected him as their hero tried to stop him, he repeatedly and loudly exclaimed, “Begone! It is you who have brought me to my present condition. Leave me, I say begone!” Hoping to be relieved of his pain and anguish of heart by a written confession, he had it prepared, signed it, but it was all unavailing. At last he cried. “O Christ! O Lord Jesus! I must die-abandoned of God and of men!” His nurse was so terrified that she said, “For all the wealth of Europe I would never see another infidel die”. It was a scene of horror that lies beyond all exaggeration.

Calvary greetings, most of us have forgotten about the fact that God is not just the God of love, He is aslo the God of judgement. He has reserved for as many as reject His offer of salvation, internal damnation in hell. The bible says: "the soul that sinner, it shall die" but the Lord Jesus has paid that price for you and I on the cross of Calvary; why will you allow the devil and ur flesh to deceive you and bring you down to hell? Bellow are the last words of notable men who died without accepting the saviour. May you rejoice at the hour of sleep (death) and not weep! Amen!

Tom Paine was born at Thedford, England in 1737. He had opportunity to live in the period of revivals by George Whitefield and John Wesley. He lived a life against God and wrote against God, drawing hearts away from Christ. An eye-witness of his death said. “He is truly to be pitied”. Tome Paine’s cries at the hour of death were: “O Lord, help me! God help me! Jesus Christ, Help me! O God! What have I done to suffer so much!” then shortly after, he said: “but there is no God!” And then again, “Yet, if there be, what would become of me hereafter?” As the elderly woman who was his attendant left the room, Tom Paine said, “Stay with me, for God’s sake! For I cannot bear to be left alone. It is hell to be left alone”. In terror and agony his very last words recorded in history were, “My God, my God, why has Thou forsaken me?”

The fact that Jesus could save someone (a terrible sinner) like me is more than enough prove that he lives. the fact that i can call upon Him when in sickness and He heals me is more than enough. I dont need a story, i know He lives. In fact, He lives in me!

Pls note that Nigerians are not saying: "dont remove fuel subsidy" but wat we are saying is: before u remove it, do the following:

deal with greed and corruption in all levels of government becos without doing that every amount realized from the subsidy removal will go the way of all our past revenue.

give us electricity so that our economy will not be dependent on fuel for power

give us good roads and good transportation system (not 1,100 buses that is not even enough for Lagos state), so that goods and services can easily be transported from one place to another with low cost.

build refineries for us and maintain the ones we already have. we have more than enough money to do this.

bring the cabals to justice.

block all the loopholes in our financial management.

after doing these little and normal things, remove fuel subsidy!
Politics / Re: Why Are Ghanians Not Protesting Over A Similar Increase In Their Pump Price: by Eben2: 9:54am On Jan 10, 2012
Reasons:

1. They have 24 hours uninterrupted power supply while Nigerians dont have 2 hours

2. They have good roads and good road network, Nigerians dont

3. They earn N64,000 as minimum wage why we earn N18,000 or less in some states

4. They have water supply while such is gone with history in Nigeria

5. Their govt officials earn far less than what our rogues, so-called leaders earn

6. They dont have untouchable cabals.

7. Before they increase their fuel price by 15%, they spent one good year sensitizing their people about the need for the increment and they also gave them the blue print of what they were going to do and how they were going to achieve it. In fact, they started executing the projects before the increment.

8. Nigeria economy is powered by generator (and invariably fuel), theirs is powered by electricity.

9. There is no untouchable boko haram in Ghana.

10. Their leaders have clues, ideas and genuine agenda on how to run the country, but our leaders are totally out of tune with the reality on ground.

Go back and read your bible. Jesus Christ himself was the Chief deliverance minister. So were the apostles after him. The first thing you should understand is the concept of deliverance itself

Hello my sister,

I will be very glad if you can show me just one place in the bible our Lord Jesus or any of the apostles performed a deliverance service on a born-again person. You can also enlighten us teaching us the BIBILICAL concept of deliverance. Waiting patiently to learn.

The problem with most christians (nominal) is that they don't take time to study their bible; that is why it so easy for so-called pastors to deceive so many people.

Many dont even know what's meant by being born-again. Many dont know that at the point of being born-again; all the works of the devil are destroyed in your life. You're delivered from the claws of sin, devil and death. You're no longer a servant of the devil but a joint heir with Christ.

"If anyman be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things (including sin, sickness, generational curses, influence of witchcraft etc) are passed away; behold, all things are become new" 2 Cor 5:17.

Moreover, once you're genuiely saved, you're given authority over all these things that many pay to be delivered from. "Behold, I give unto you power to
tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." A wall of fire is built around you and the devil can no longer touch you. Oh! he will surely and relentlessly tempt you; he may even use some people to persecute you, but you'll always overcome if you put your trust in the author and finisher of our faith - the man Jesus! "the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runneth into it and is saved"

@brotherly,

Pls note that the woman you mentioned in Luke 13 was not born-again before her encounter with our Lord though a daughter of Abraham. That she was an Isrealiste doe not authomatically qualified her as being born-again.

If you're not saved yet, why dont you take this opportunity to come to the Lord; He's calling with opened arms. How long will you serve the devil, sin and self. the Lord is calling today, tomorrow might just be too late!

Wouldnt say its wrong, but you'll agree with me that Christians have better work to do than competition among themselves. Jesus said: "behold the harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few" God has a better assignment for the saved!

Jesus in not interested in the multitude of people worshipping in a church. He's only interested in those that are truely born-again and are totally consecrated to Christ-like living. How many are genuiely born-again in these churches? how many are living a holy life? if these number of worshippers are true disciples of Christ; then, Nigeria will not be as corrupt as it is now.

The Lord will come soon and He'll be coming only for the saved and sanctified - those are His church not RCCG, MFM, DEEPER LIFE, LORD'S CHOSEN or what have you. Are you prepared for His coming? Are you prepared for death? Remember, no unclean thing (not even liars) will enter into the kingdom of God.

Are you on the narrow path?

To constantly live a victorious life, a born-again Christian, must do the following:

1. Deligently watch and pray Mat 26:41

2. Run from every appearance of evil no matter how small it seems, 1Thess 5:21 remember: "a little leaaven leveneth the whole lumb". Don't even try to pounder on his suggestions. It can be very dangerous!

3. Resist the devil with the Word of God. God has helped me to know that the devil is a big coward and can be very timid when you resist him through the Word of God but he's persistent. Christians must constantly resist him whenever he brings any evil suggestions (temptation). James 4:7

4. Read, study, meditate and keep the Word of God in your heart Psalms 119:11; Rev 12:11

5. Be careful of what you think about. Prov 4:23

To my dearly beloved brethren and fellow labourers in the vineyard of God,

It is true that the world we live in is very corrupt and evil; but we are well able to walk in righteousness and divine holiness in this evil and corrupt world. The Lord that called us unto holiness is well able to help us walk before Him in perfection all the days of our life. “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful [is] he that calleth you, who also will do it.”

Don’t say because everyone is doing it then you should. Remember, thousands of children of Isreal left Egypt but just two of the whole lot got to the promised land – Caleb and Joshua. While others decided not to believe God, while others decided to follow the multitude to say: “we cannot”; they stood their ground and said: “we are well able!” They trusted in God and they were able to enter into the promised land.

The Lord is faithful and more than able to keep you in his way. All we need to do is trust in Him totally, study and meditate on the bible daily (not read it), pray always and diligently watch our heart and actions.

Yes, the world is full of darkness; that is why we are the light of the world. Evil is present everywhere; that is why we are the salt of the world. Let us therefore follow the example of the Author and the Finisher of our faith and be examples to unbelievers in words, actions, comportment and all manner of conversation.

Remember, a day is coming when we will all sit in the presence of the Lord and tell the story of how we overcome. What a glorious day that would be!
Religion / Re: Will A Born Again Christian Commit Adultery? by Eben2: 9:29pm On Dec 08, 2011
To my friends: italo & co,

My heart goes out to you and I so much pray that God will open your mind to understand the mind and word of God.
Whatever you say or made to believe; it will not stop God from being God and His Words will stand true. He is no respecter of person. So, no matter whom you are or what you are made to believe; He will do what He says He would do.

He said in Heb 12:14 – ‘’follow peace will all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord’’. ‘’And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.’’ Rev 21:27.

If your goal as a Christian is to make heaven, then, the above scriptures tell you what you need to do to get there. You must be holy. ‘’Be ye holy for I am holy’’. No unclean thing will enter into the kingdom of God. That is the standard of God! He will not lower it because of anyone. If you are still interested in hanging on to your loads of sin, then am afraid my friend, you’re not ready for heaven. No wonder the Lord Jesus said: ‘’narrow is the way and straight is the gate that leads to life eternal’’ It means that way will not contain you and your loads of sin. God’s standard is so high that He considers lust as adultery and disobedience and as the sin of idolatry. ‘’Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.’’ Pls 24:3,4.

Purgatory will not save you. ‘’The soul that sinneth, it shall die’’ God told this to our fore-father (Adam) but the devil deceived him and told him it was a lie. But, they found it to be true when it was too late. ‘’it is appointed unto man once to die and after that judgement’’. Yoruba would say : a o ni je adorun mooto. May you not be someone that will accept the truth only after death. Amen.

If i give you a 'Yes' or 'No' answer, I feel you will still not understand or be satisfied. Moreover, it will not make you to believe me or the gospel. Notwithstanding, those who knew the old me and the new me (my wife inclusive) will be able to testify to what God has done in my life.

By His grace, sin has been rebuked in my life and it shall not have dominion over me again, Amen. You can experience this too; just come to Jesus!

Your first five words answered the question: "are you born-again?".

But for the question: "have you sinned since you became born-again?", you have used more than 100 words and you still didn't answer the question.

So I ask again (and pls stop this your deliberate attempt to evade the question, behave like a christian that you claim to be and answer the question - a 'YES' or 'NO' will do incase you don't know any other way to answer clearly).

SINCE THE DAY YOU BECAME BORN-AGAIN, HAVE yOU COMMITTED A SIN?

My dear italo, If you cannot see the answer you want from my reply, i wouldn't be surprised. It will be strange to you unless you have the experience. Accept Jesus today and you will obtain victory over sin and self.

Yes italo! I am born-again!!! and i have such peace and joy in my heart that the world cannot experience. By the special grace of God I have been given victory over sin and self. Since i met the Lord, i have developed that special hatred for sin. Things i used to do, i do them no more; the words i used to speak, i speak them no more; the evil and wordly things i used to think of, i think them no more. "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." 1John 3:9.

A true child (born-again) of God does not commit sin (adultary or what not). You will not understand until you experience that saving grace and power of God. I once thought i could not do without sleeping around (with both single and married) but when Jesus met my soul; He gave me victory over flesh and the life I live now, I live for the glory of God.

Notwithstanding, there are a lot of so-called Christians (pastors, choirs, church leaders and workers etc) today who have not really met the Lord or some are backsliden. You may see these kind of people messing around but dont be deceived for "by their fruits ye shall know them".

Shalom!

It was night. Another day had gone, and all was still. Bu what matter? It was always night in the cold, clammy dungeon where Barabbas lay. The Sun now and then did manage to penetrate the inky blackness that ever reigned beneath the surface of the ground. But even then it couldn’t be called light; it was only less dark.

And yet there was a difference, for this particular night was the night of doom for the murderer who awaited the execution of his awful sentence. It was the last night on earth for him. His career was ended; his last crime committed.

Back in the darkest corner he crouched, deep in thought. A few more hours and all would be over. Ah, but would it? In the morning he would hear the football of death warden as he came along the corridor. Then for a moment it would cease as he paused before the door of his dungeon. The great key would clank in the lock, the bolt fly back, and the heavy door swing slowly open. And then he would be dragged out, led to the fatal spot, and nailed to a cross. And there for hours, it might be, he would suffer the most excruciating agony that Roman Ingenuity could devise, exposed to the public gaze of an indifferent populace; for he must pay the penalty of his crimes.

In the morning he did hear the steps of the jailer coming along the corridor. The key was placed in the lock. The bolt did fly back, and in another moment the great door was opened. And Barabbas still crouched in the darkest corner as before. But that was as far as his surmises of the night were realized.

“Barabbas, have you heard the Good News”? It was the wardens’ voice jubilant and strong.

“What Good News?” responded the condemned man in a bitter tone. “All I know is that this is the day of my execution, and that you have come to lead me out to be crucified for my crimes.” And he shrank farther back against the cold, wet wall.

“Ah! But you don’t know” replied the warden in the same triumphant tone. “Listen, Barabbas, Somebody died for you!”

“Somebody died for me! What do you mean?”

“Come with me, and I will show you, Barabbas.”

Through the door, along the corridor, past numerous cells, into the street, and beyond the wall of Jerusalem, they made their way, the jailer forging ahead, hurrying his dazed prisoner along. At last they paused.

“Do you see yonder cross?” he inquired, placing his hand on the shoulder of the other, and pointing to a hill some distance away.

The condemned man looked, but it was a few moments before he could comprehend the scene before him, so unaccustomed were his eyes to the light of day. But at last he saw and spoke:

“Yes, I see. There are three, are there not?”

“But do you see the centre one?”

“Yes”

“Well Barabbas, that centre cross was made for you, and you were to die on it this morning.”
Slowly the light dawned and broke on his beclouded mind.

“Then-then that Man hanging on it is dying in my place, for me!”

“Yes, Barabbas, for you. Did I not tell you that somebody died for you? And now you are free!”

“Can it be possible!? For me, dying for me; taking my place! But yes, that cross was made for me and I should have been hanging there now. Yet He is dying in my stead. He has taken my place.”

“Yes, Barabbas, for you.”

And for you too, my dear friend. Jesus Christ hung there that day for you, me as well as for Barabbas. He took your place, died in your stead, became your Substitute, bore your sins and gave His life that you, a poor, lost and guilty sinner, might live.

Will you accept His redemptive work on Calvary or will you reject Him and pay eternally with your blood for what has already been paid for? The choice is yours!
Religion / Re: . by Eben2: 5:28pm On Nov 25, 2011
In addition, after you have been saved, you must take some steps to ensure continuous glorious Christian life.

1. Study and meditate on your bible constantly “and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” Rev 12: 11; “thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee” Pls 119: 11. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1Pet 2:2 Also Joshua 1: 8.

2. Pray without ceasing. A lot of Christians have failed in this regard and that’s why there’s so much sin in the land. Remember the garden of Gethsemane when our Lord was faced with the tempter, He prayed and was encouraged by the angels. We receive strength from God when we pray. “…continuing instant in prayer” Rom 12:12

3. Run from any form of temptation. Check yourself and think of anything that can easily lead you to sin and run from it. E.G, pornographic movies, dirty songs.

4. Run from any bad friend that can easily lead you back to sin. When I first gave my life to Jesus, I thought I could meet up with my girl-friends, tell them what happened and cut off the relationships. But I couldn’t because I was still very young in the Lord and the flesh was pushing me to remember the bad things we did together. I latter had to blacklist their numbers on my phone. Many called for months but they could not reach me and I did not return any of their calls. I also had a colleague in the office was always a bad influence on me; I don’t know how God did it, but he was redeployed from my office to another branch and I’ve not seen him ever since. “be not deceived, evil communications corrupt good manners” 1 Cor 15: 33

5. Resist the devil. Temptation will always come because you soul is precious and the devil wants to have it. Therefore, you must be watchful and anytime the tempter comes, resist him instantly with the word of God. Listen, many at times when the devil drops one suggestion or the other on my mind, I don’t waste time not ponder on it, I speak the word and I commands him to leave me in the name of the Lord and you know what, he’s a coward, he runs. But don’t be surprised, he’ll come back and you’ll be ready for him with the word. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” 1 Pet 4:7.

6. Fellowship with true children of God. Look for a church that preaches the truth of the Word and fellowship with them. Have friends that love God and it will help you. Get a prayer partner.

7. Preach the Gospel. It will help you to know the word of God more. I you wouldn’t want to do what you preach against.

8. Watch over your heart. Be careful of what you allow to enter and linger in your heart. “…for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” Mat 12: 34

I hope this will help.

Shalom!
