Health / Re: Breakthrough As Scientists Discover A Drug That Can Kill Covid 19 In 48hrs by ElCuajo(m): 4:51pm On Apr 04, 2020 |
ivolt: A virus lives in the cells of living organisms, attaching itself to the cell membrane and infecting its host by injecting the cells with its DNA or RNA. Viruses can be killed externally by the things you quoted above, but since they live inside the cells of living organisms you can hardly kill them without killing the cells in living organism. If the Ivermectin could work in a cell culture as quoted in the article, then it is seriously worth a shot. 3 Likes |

OGHENAOGIE: He's not top 3 but he's defo top 10... Every team has different styles of play and roles for their DM's so it's counterintuitive to compare him to Casemiro & Fabinho whose teams have majority of the ball possession and as such will lead to them seeing more of the ball and taking more risks. But as a generic as DM's come they win back the ball and stop opponent attacks through the tackles and interceptions which you've mentioned above and boy what a joy is he to watch using his spider legs win tackles and stop attacks. FYI he's scored 2 goals in the EPL this season and he's had 84% successful passes, he's taking more shots at goal, he's more of an aerial target at set pieces now Maguire is gone at LCFC, and he's learning to dictate from deep under the illustrious Brendan Rodgers. The only way is up for Onyinye Ndidi; it's best you believe the hype. 2 Likes |

A good half for the Super Eagles. For someone so lanky Osimehin has got good speed, to marry his strength and link up play, his aggressiveness in the press with all the aforementioned attributes reminds me of a certain Roberto Firmino; the dude is just hungry for his first open play goal. Iwobi and misplaced passes are too recurring for a playmaker. Aribo driving with the ball at his feet towards the opponent is a refreshing sight, dude just needs to bulk up to avoid been shoved off the ball. I still think we need a natural LB instead of Ola Aina who's been solid at the back but has not been able to link up with Moses Simon down the left flank, almost making the guy seem invisible, the inability of either to also throw in a cross because of no leftie in both roles is awkward. Chidozie Awaziem seems to stand out in the RB role and good crosses from both feet in the first half. Osimehin and Chukwueze link ups giving me 2015 Fifa U-17 vibes. The goal conceded was very preventable, but these things happen. Astro turf is shite! 8 Likes 4 Shares |

Education / Re: What Chances Of Success Does A 2.2 LLB Holder Has? by ElCuajo(m): 11:15am On Nov 14, 2017 |
Law is very broad, tell your sister to look beyond being employed by organisations like banks or what have you's who only want 1st class and 2.2, the most important thing for any person in life not less so a lawyer is confidence... With confidence you can have a shit and still strut like you've got gold ore, tell her to look forward to choosing a specification in law where she knows she can be confident and excel, she can't take this mindset to law school not less so in life, I had a 2.2 in a state uni & a 2.2 in law school and from experience in legal practice its not about the grades it's about experience, effort, connections and the grace of God. I have a friend who's into real estate, this guy was academically feeble but he managed to have a pass in law school, he stuck to legal drafting and real property practice, and by the grace of God with some connections, he can just spend under an hour drafting a deed or legal instrument, and make more than the banking law practicing lawyers or even litigation lawyers make in 6 months. Having low grades in law school and uni won't even stop you if you can add more to your CV in professional courses and experience in aforesaid broad specifications of law, a friend of mine had a 3rd Class in Uni and still went for a LL.M program in International trade and investment law in Europe, with more experience and courses under his belt he'll be a hot cake in that field, rather than waiting for a bank who have their "standards" to employ legal graduates. The long and short of my epistle is tell your sis to change her mindset, be confident, work on getting connects in life, choose a specific area of law she's sure she can be confident in, get extra professional certificates to go, have working experience and give it her lung busting efforts, thereafter seek the grace of God, cos it's work and pray not pray and work or ordinary prayer. It is well OP, we shall all be successful but we have to be positive and avoid self pity, here's to seeing your sister excel in the legal field in years to come. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Those numbers are the maximum of candidates to be admitted per session by the law faculties in those universities. It is better for one to be very certain about facts before asserting them. I'm not surprised by the list to be honest, the council of legal education has gradually brought sanity to the system which some of us suffered from. 5 Likes |

Lol... It must be painful for Chelsea fans... The guy doesn't want to waste his time on the bench, and shunted out at wing back behind Moses, he wants an AMF role, and he can only get that at LFC... He wants to be the next Steven Gerrard he's always said... |

openmine: My opinion on these types of issues has greatly matured since El nino left us for Chelshit... I'm a lawyer and believe everyone reserves the right to walk away from a contract not more a football contract for your personal or business reasons, the way players and clubs just go about it is just the whole wahala... Couts would still be with us if not for the Neymar money, his agent has lots of € to make from that deal at least €10m, include the whole South American thing for Barca and Madrid, he defo should leave if he wants... Barca have proven that if a big shot like them can still be a selling club once the price is right or conditions are met a la Neymar, not so much LFC, RB Leipzig or Southampton FC... The most important factors are the right price, the right replacement and the right time to sell, LFC are still trying to tick those boxes, when done Couts will leave... No one wants to have an unhappy player disrupting your squad spirit especially when he's on £150k pw... Couts is good but to me he's not really hit the mark of an elite footballer, FCB are crazy to offer that kind of money and LFC are foolish to refuse... Klopp's LFC is about the system, individual quality is just a gloss, players like Mane & Firmino are more integral to the system than Couts... I'll defo miss the mazy dribbles, footwork and shots from distance after having like 15 go's at it... But if it's Thomas Lemar as I hear may come in, we won't lack creativity, especially with Keita coming in next year... All these signings are irrelevant sef, the most important one is VVD, get that guy or someone near his level at least, Lovren is so unreliable... YNWA 1 Like |

princepeter566: Fallacy of over generalisation; guy abeg because a certain so called Prophet is involved in nefarious acts doesn't mean all Cherubim and Seraphims' are traditionalists, I know there are many branches, orders or types of white garment churches, and I can guarantee you that some are cleaner than many Pentecostal churches you know of. It's easy for any Jack to sew a white garment and claim to be God sent after building a church, the real message to be learnt here is why should a Church leader be involved in sharp and criminal practices? Some of us are always quick to criticise or cast assertion without understanding the genesis of the problems. Religion and Ignorance is a problem to this country, enough said. 1 Like |

I wish him a speedy recovery, in advanced climes there is use of bio therapy to treat ulcer like sores caused by diabetes. It is called maggot / larvae therapy where live maggots clean up the wounds and aid healing process which in turn halts amputations. There's been a post on it by someone here on Nairaland, I'll paste the link below. The only question is if our Nigerian hospitals are currently practicing it? https://www.nairaland.com/1244919/interesting-things-maggot-therapy 1 Like |
Romance / Re: Was There Really Gender Equality ? Let's Debate by ElCuajo(m): 12:20pm On Mar 16, 2016 |
The only true debatable point I could deem fit to answer was the issue of the beneficiary to a husband's estate (properties /assets) when he dies, the bill fights the transfer of all the estate rights to the wife and kids. This is alien to African and indeed Nigerian culture, besides it could also prompt homicidal tendencies of some Nigerian wives, some husbands are absolute beasts and since a woman is directly guaranteed to be the beneficiary of all his properties they'll commit murder to have all the estate in her name and also have no responsibility to the family the husband devolved from. In all my walks of life I've never seen anything that can discriminate against a woman in Nigeria except for cultural tendencies, and those are ingrained as part of our genetic make up that gives our society it's spice and unfortunately can't be changed. As for the other points, they are all rubbish, women should work hard to attain political positions rather than rely on appointments, they should read their books and reduce distractions from social media chats, photos, likes and fake lives. You should stop relying on men to buy you everything and pay the bills everytime you go out. As far as I know, for the present generation women have more success rates in job applications than men. Nigeria is there for the taking women rise up and fight for yourself, in the words of D'prince "O. Y. O." 2 Likes |

Education / Re: The Worst Punishment You Ever Got In School And Why? by ElCuajo(m): 7:53am On Sep 20, 2015 |
Hmnnn... I gave the word Artful dodger a new meaning back then in school with my numerous escapades, in Mayflower back then before it's become a shadow of itself now we had numerous punishments but the one most Morafa students would remember the most was 'Conference Beating', you'll be made to kneel on the sharp edged stones in the afternoon sun, and when the time is nigh, six to seven different lockers would be arranged with an assortment of skilled, nasty looking and stomach turning teachers standing just behind one, the target is to receive three to two strokes of cane from locker 1 to locker 6 or 7 the course must be completed if not you go start over again, while I was never caught in this, 5 F9's students can relate this traumatic experience to you.... Back from digression, the worst punishment I received was from then Senior Prefect 'Folarin Adelesi', whom I believe was just a frustrated sadistic young man, because I wore bathroom slippers to the school assembly ground, on the excuse of a wound on my foot which Folarin never bought, my head was arm locked in Folarin's arm, and I was taken on a dehumanizing torture trip, he began from the first arm of SS3 (RED), slapping my face with every four to five steps parading me to the last and sixth arm (ORANGE), and students even for a SS3 class were many at that time, I will never forget the helplessness and pain I felt that day, I was quite a popular student and just felt that Folarin used me to show off as a stone hearted fellow to his mates... |
Education / Re: 5 Reasons Why You Should Not Study Law In Nigeria by ElCuajo(m): 7:49am On Jan 25, 2015 |
Yes, the legal profession may seem saturated, yes they pay most young wigs & some lawyers serving under their principals peanuts, but to the OP, you need to know what your plans for the future are, is it money you want? Is it to defend the defenceless? Is it just gallivant with the title Barr.? Is it to fulfil the wish of your ancestors who couldn't be Lawyers? Answer these question and you'll have an idea what you want, If it's money like I suspect, the legal field is not restricted to advocacy or practice alone, there are limitless places to work as a lawyer, "shine your eyes" if you might be a lawyer, plus you can set up a business & still benefit from legal drafting as lawyer. Law is the best course in the world, don't be discouraged. Waiting on other learned colleagues to have a say... |
Education / Re: Mass Failure In Nigerian Law School by ElCuajo(m): 10:44am On Oct 22, 2014 |
In the words of Pastor Martin Niemöller "First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me." I read with gargantuan revulsion the comments most nairalanders have uttered concerning this issue, most of them have not an iota of compunction towards those affected, and rather just let drip from their uninformed brains, vile filled statements, how on earth can such a magnitude of students fail such an exam, I wrote the Bar exams hoping for the best result alas I had a pass and heard about the fall of many a bright student and all some people can do is comment on failure due to social media addiction, this begs the questions: 1. Can indigent students who paid #300,000 and had a degree in their respective law faculties suddenly go lax and fail their exams? 2. Does the social media craze affect students of over 30-35 years who have a little relevance to social media and yet still fail the exams? 3. For those on the hasty generalisation rush, did all the students that failed "sort" or "yansh bribe" their way through the University? Any Nairalander who can justify these above questions towards the silly statements concerning the mass failure is free to an open debate with me, till then I rest my case... 1 Like |

Poems For Review / Unstoppable Flow.... My Debut by ElCuajo(m): 1:44pm On Dec 14, 2013 |
Weak feelings in the spine Incessant yawns and stretches The mind goes foggy... Irresistible desire, willfully following like a dog to its master What a sweet respite... Hypnos flies by... His drowsy wings cutting into the air in dreamy sequences Damn you son of Nyx and Erebus for glueing up my eyelids Launched am I, into short sharp day dreams Future aspirations, living the life of my idols About relationships and love Yeah, living the dream The corner of the succulent fleshy lips open up Just like a pitcher, the free pour of ptylin descends down comparing with the rock struck by Aaron's brother The warm liquid made cool by the air, all cascading down the arm All brain activity focused on regaining strength and refreshing the humanly trinity; the body, mind and soul All going well, save for a stir, caused by what? Did something happen in fantasy land? Did a tumultuous commotion tingle the ears? I can't break out I'm still held captive by Hypnos Bound in ropes, shackled in chains Gagged, blindfolded Kept in a cage inside a steel box whose keys have been thrown in a well And this box covered with a duvet Swallowed by a locker housed in a dark room Until it came... The blinding, white, searing, light Cutting through all obstacles and Jericho walls All the efforts of the non needed heroes Flying in capes and covered in masks Your soft, gentle tapping touch and your sweet, melodious voice... Snapping back to reality Red wide eyes Only discerned by spherical black dots Looking foolishly, asking questions that have no answers Why do I feel like a Desert in a rainstorm? Finally, the conniving conspirator The evil good mass of white tissue, jerks awareness to the fore... What's that smell? Oh! Stale saliva Oh! My notebook 3 Likes |
