Villarreal signed Udom from NPFL but the things Villarreal did not see we are seeing it here…if it’s a Nigerian born and groomed in Europe with this abilities it’s news and next thing how do we cap him.

Taribo West was not better than this when he left Nigeria league to Auxerre….Troost Ekong was below average even in Olympics games but
today we are having solid Ekong.

Congratulations Udom Ekaette, hope to see you making it.

Ekong was solid at the Rio Olympics. I knew while watching him then that he'll grow to become one of the leaders in the team.

I was shocked to see him regress at a point in his career, though.

😂😂😂 Ohhh God! This man. Well, Eguavoen has always been an interim coach. He's the John the Baptist that will pave the way for you. I can assure you.

I ad actually wanted him to continue after the Ghana game as I rated and still rate him higher than Peseiro.

Where is the pun that you intended not to pun here?

The way that word is used is different from how I understand it. Elunico used it correctly when he said that Partey had a field day. Field is the pun here. But this your own, I no understand am. Enlighten me please.

There is nothing wrong with 4-4-2, watch his team play afcon 2021, a 4-2-3-1 in possession & 4-4-2 without the ball with quick transition & directness exploiting the opponents zone 14. We were just unfortunate against Tunisia.

I'm OK with the 4-2-3-1 variation, but the flat out 4-4-2? No!!

Against Tunisia, he saw that our wings were clipped, so, he thought to tweak things by bringing Iwobi in to make things happen from the middle, too bad he was sent off just moments after coming on.

AE is definitely not to blame for that.

Yes, he can make something good with the current squad.

My main concern is how he intends to win with what he has.
Is Eguavoen really a tactician? Football played these days is more about tactics.

Is Eguavoen daring? Is Eguavoen willing to take risks and make a name for himself, or is playing safe his uttermost concern.

I hope Eguavoen has improved.

Haven't heard of him going for a refresher's course or anything like that in recent times.

I just hope he succeeds this time. I like his personality.

if Egu can dump US 94 tactics to embrace modern football ideas he will do well with the team 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The problem with our coaches especially those from the 94 set is that they hv failed woefully in adapting to the change and rigors of modern football tactics

That's true.

I noticed that from one of his interviews during the 2022 AFCON. He's still stuck in his old traditional way of doing things.

I don't want him playing that drab 4 - 4 - 2 formation tomorrow.

he should go with Onyedika CDM, Onyeka B2B and Iwobi CAM

That's the ideal move, but I doubt if AE will bench Ndidi.

Has Eguavoen improved?

How will he set up our midfield?
Raphael Onyedika is the only profile i can bank on for now.

Are we to be served the same old dish?
I pray not so

He has no other option than to make use of when he has, that's the best we can currently offer.

I remember our match against Ghana;

No Ndidi,
No Iwobi
Onyeka injured
Bonke injured, Partey had a field day, (no pun intended)

Uzoho, that tonzo let in a cheap goal.

This squad is a good enough squad to win those matches.

What's annoying is that this Benin Team are nothing spectacular.

We just chose to be generous by conceding those cheap goals.

This is it. I don't see us getting back from this.

Bye 2026 WC.

Look man played above average but he is selfish and seeking personal glory than team victory .

Lookman has always been like That even for his clubside.

Go check some of his goals, you'll find a player waiting for his pass, but he elects to shoot.

We are going to have a clash against SA, Olisah Ndah is being hailed in the SA league as the best CB in the league, the SA team is made up of players from the SA league, but we instead chose Tanimu from one of the worst teams in Tanzania. Make it make sense.

Eguaveon was the last SE coach to impress me with his call ups.

Nobody is saying he will not score goals 🥅 .

I am sure in a match very few if any players have as many sprints as VO. When he was in France in those two seasons nobody did more sprint's than VO.

If you take away the relentless non work rate and sprinting of VO. Without prejudice you have taken away his heart 💜 and soul, there will be very little left.

The current manager of Chelsea is not Conte it seems you are not aware.

How many injury free seasond has VO had in Seria A ⁉️and if you put that into consideration he may be looked at as injury prone.

Conte is Napoli's new manager.

No need to sugar coat it, those foreign borns are second rate anybody that doesn't like that fact can go to hell.

Let's develop our youth system that is what has been working for us from the start instead of some players who see us as a fall back plan.

What's so special about these FBs if I may ask?

Of all the ones we've gotten, only Victor Moses was impactful and really worth it. Others have been just about average.

And of all that we have missed, only a handful went on to be world beaters .A whole lot of them hv been us dodging a huge bullet.

Reliance on FB is what is affecting Cameroon today, they have lost their identity as a team and no longer carry the fearsome reputation of time past because they've diluted the team with some overrated FBs.

Of all our players that made the AFCON team of the tournament, Ekong, Aina, & Lookman, none of them were Home bred.

So, what's your point?

Watching El Khabi lead the lines for Olympiacos and I'm reminded that he was part of the Moroccan team that ran the CHAN eagles ragged few years ago. 4 - 0 in the finals I believe?

The team had Ajiboye, Faleye, Okpotu, Utin, Ojo, Adeleke and the rest.

Where are they today? 😁 😁

A tear drop almost left my eyes watching this video. Nigeria was robbed of a gem with the way Mikel Obi was handled.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC9F3ABqFxI

It's surprising to hear Sia1 say that he didn't like Mikel in his recent interview.

He said Mikel was stubborn and didn't play to instructions.

But Mikel played his best football under Sia1.

In fact the only time he enjoyed Mikel was at the 2016 Rio Olympics where he really acted like a true captain.

This is why I don't really blame our local coaches with their selections sometimes, our players don't respect our local coaches.

We had Uche, Taiwo and Osaze against Keshi, recently Sadiq against Finidi, Sia1 made mention of Haruna Lukman too.

Only Eguaveon in recent time has been able to command the necessary respect from the lads.

The team's playing style is to keep possession of the ball.

A large chunk of blame goes to the midfield for not placing themselves in good positions to receive passes of the ball.
A midfield that will lose the ball because they cannot handle themselves in tight spaces. hence the concomitant back passes in order to keep possession of the ball.

Awaziem's pass was intelligently intercepted because the opponent read us well, it doesn't make Awaziem's passes of the ball poor.

We need midfielders who can receive passes from the defenders and find a way to not only locate the forwards, but also support them as they break down the opposition.

Passing the ball across your defense line like he did was never an advisable move.

If we want to continue playing from the back, our players would learn how to occupy wide positions to provide more passing outlets.

Ejuke?
