Politics / 2023: Archbishop Chukwuma Makes U-turn, Says ‘I Support Obedient Movement’ by ericendurance1: 12:39pm On Aug 16, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuBzdETIpNw

The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, on Monday, said that the Obedient Movement of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has become a national project.

He said that the popularity and acceptability was so high that the opponents and enemies alike would not be able to pull him down no matter the campaign of calumny.

Chukwuma who was reacting to reports in the media quoting him as saying that Enugu state was not ‘Obidient’, said he is not and has never been against Obi’s presidential ambition but rather has supported it more than those persecuting him.

DAILY POST reports that the Archbishop has received much backlash after he said “we in Enugu State are not ‘Obedient'”.

The Archbishop has now said Obi’s fame became so high because he showed credibility, character, honesty and capacity in public office, as governor of Anambra state and other offices he had previously held.

He said, “My own concern is that Peter Obi, found to be very credible, Nigerians should be out to make sure that young people should be given chance and allow him to clean the mess that we’re in Nigeria.

“It is quite clear that in this country people know me as speaking out, I’ve been condemning the evil in this society and in Nigeria.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ov7arVv0pE
“And we are very much aware that even in my synod, I condemned the evil things happening in this government led by Buhari and I meant it that we need a new Nigeria, new Nigeria, a new win into a new wineskin.”

Explaining himself Chukwuma said, “There is no doubt that I said, both Atiku and Tinubu are expired and they have no new things to offer us. And I talked about being Obidient nationally. But the situation is that living in Enugu and seeing what has happened in the past years where PDP has been in power for years and other parties have not surfaced until now, it has become very much necessary for people to know that Enugu as it is has been so entrenched into a party called PDP.

“I totally support Obidient nationally, but State wise, I’m talking about the personalities in the state, and I do know that those in the state that are not corrupt will be endorsed and voted by us. We’re praying that the right people under God will come up in this nation to vie for positions that will make Nigeria to be better.

“Some people are going now in many states to hide under Obidient, Obidient is Peter Obi personified. Obidient is Peter Obi, there is no party called Peter Obi in Nigeria and so no persons should hide under the name Obidient thinking that you can win election because nationally we are ready for change. We are talking about personalities, people like Obi who can come and deliver Nigeria and the states out of the mess.

“Let it be clear to Nigerians that, I’m not against Peter Obi and I’m not against Obidient nationally, but State wise, Obidient may not work. Because, it is going to be a matter of personality and not a matter of party and again, Obidient is Peter Obi personified, nobody in the state is Peter Obi, so it may not be possible for you to say states can be Obidient like Enugu, because it depends on the strength, structure and the power of the party in government particularly the incumbency.

“So I want us to please get it clear, all those who have been writing things against me should note that I’m not a person anybody push aroud, and by the grace of God, nobody has settled me and nobody can settle me, I’ve not received money from anybody. I’m only expressing myself with what I’ve observed and seen.

“Let us be very careful of corrupt politicians who may want to run under Obi or Obidient because they feel that it is catching much wave.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLKf00XzoqI
“All that I’m saying is that we must think about the personality, integrity, and pedigree of the person in any party that is going to vie for position in Nigeria, they should not hide under Obidient as if to say, they are going to win election.”

Politics / 2023: Group Drums Support For Peter Obi, Says PDP, APC ‘anti-south East’ by ericendurance1: 6:36pm On Aug 14, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cxUpO-0O8A

The Eastern Union is mobilizing votes for Mr Peter Obi, Labour Party’s presidential candidate, because of equity and competence, according to Hon Charles Anike, the national president of the body.

Hon Anike told THE WHISTLER in Enugu on Tuesday that Labour Party had by choosing Obi as its presidential standard-bearer proven to Nigerians that it is a party for ‘the ordinary man and Nigerian masses’.

He said the contest for the 2023 presidential election had presented the opportunities for ‘Nigerian masses from all the tribes and religions to look through the histories, capacities, abilities, fitness and pedigrees of various presidential candidates’ to choose from.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLKf00XzoqI

He described the outcome of the primaries of both the PDP and APC as anti-South East. In his words, “The outcome of the PDP and APC primaries did not come to us as a surprise, rather the outcome reaffirmed our earlier concerns that the North is not sincere and not willing to allow power to rotate to the South.

“When the northern PDP elements began to play smart with zoning, we knew they were up to something funny; until they finally pretended to throw the contest open to all the zones.

“Recall that in 2019, no southerner contested the PDP presidential primary held in Port Harcourt, basically with the belief on the zoning arrangement of the party. This was why all the southern political leaders threw their weight behind Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

“When it was the time for the North to reciprocate same, they could not control their insatiable quest for power. The outcome of this resulted in the gang-up against the South-East.

“The APC was not in any way different, except that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu proved the strength of money in the Nigerian politics. That was why he was able to abort the coup plot of Buhari and his APC national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, who wanted to impose Sen Ahmed Lawal to maintain the Fulani leadership of the country.

“The position of the Eastern Union, therefore, is to seriously mobilize our people in the entire South-East, South-South zones and across the country to use our votes to make a strong statement. The APC has presented a Yoruba Muslim as its candidate while the PDP also presented a Fulani Muslim to succeed a Fulani Muslim (Muhammadu Buhari).”

Eastern Union is a pressure group with membership across Nigeria and the diaspora.

Nigerians were warned about Buhari – Former Ambassador, Farounbi

A former Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines, Yemi Farounbi has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari is God’s punishment for Nigeria.

Farounbi who is a veteran broadcast journalist also said he was not surprised that this is happening because Nigerians were warned during the 2014/2015 presidential campaign about President Buhari’s past.

Farounbi who made these revelations while featuring on a live weekly radio show in Ibadan explained that imprisonment of politicians was one of the bad sores inflicted by the president while a military Head Of State.

In his words, “In 2014/2015 when we were campaigning, when Nigerians decided to accept the campaign of one chance, they were warned of the history of Muhammadu Buhari and how he imprisoned many politicians including Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

God is a wonderful being. He decided to use Buhari to punish Nigerians for their evil deeds and Nigerians deserve these punishments.”

While reiterating that he has optimism that Nigeria will be better, he accused corrupt politicians of not looking forward to seeing a better Nigeria.

Ambassador Farounbi, however, stated that Buhari can still redeem his image by becoming Nigeria’s best president if he could sincerely restructure the country into six geographical zones.

This, he said, will help to strengthen the country’s economy and political space.

Politics / You Can’t Campaign For Tinubu And Not Look Stupid, Dino Melaye Slams Keyamo by ericendurance1: 12:49am On Aug 13, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ov7arVv0pE

Senator Dino Melaye has slammed Festus Keyamo over his comment that Atiku Abubakar is no match for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

Keyamo, the Labour and Employment minister and spokesperson of the Tinubu campaign organisation had recently claimed Atiku does not have the experience to lead Nigeria and that the Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi is even way ahead of him in the race for the country’s number one seat.

But speaking in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Senator Melaye, who is the spokesperson of the Atiku campaign council, berated the APC, saying the party will find it hard selling its presidential candidate Tinubu.

“This government marketed Atiku by their colossal failure. Today, the most difficult candidate to sell is an APC candidate whether, at the House of Representatives, Senate, or governorship level,” the lawmaker said during the show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNtJp5UJXOw

“That is why you cannot defend, promote or campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu without looking stupid. This is what happened to my brother and friend, Festus Keyamo, he started talking off point. He started saying things that do not make sense.”

Senator Melaye believes his principal is the best for the presidential seat next year, dismissing what he called the “social media euphoria” of Peter Obi.

According to him, social media is quite different from reality, arguing that the Labour Party did poorly in the Osun State governorship election.

“What you have is euphoria; a created euphoria,” he said during the show. “Let me even tell you, Peter Obi is a fantastic Nigerian. I have tremendous respect for him and I have said it before but this is not his time. He does not have what it takes now to unify the country.”

“Today, among all presidential candidates, Atiku is the only one that can be trusted; nobody will see him as a religious bigot, tribalist; or ethnic jingoist,” Melaye added

Politics / Nigeria Can’t Borrow N1.1 Trillion To Meet ASUU’s Demand – Umahi by ericendurance1: 1:36am On Aug 11, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5SuBxgAU4o

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State says the Nigerian government cannot borrow N1.1 trillion to meet the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) who have been on strike for over five months.

The Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum said this on Wednesday when he received a delegation from the Nigeria Police Trust Fund led by Dr. Ben Akabueze, in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi capital.

“There is no way Nigeria will go and borrow N1.1tn to meet ASUU’s demand, it’s quite unreasonable. Are their demands genuine? Yes. But we can start little by little,” the governor said.

“There must be a commitment on the side of both parties that look, ‘ASUU is not asking for this to take to their houses’ so to say. It’s asking for it for our children, to better the infrastructure, to better the lecturers and the students. Yes, but we can start with a fraction of that and then have a programme that will run on the platform of sincerity to address all the lots.”

He also called on varsities lecturers to show some level of understanding so the strike can end.

“So, it is important for ASUU to show some understanding and for those who are negotiating on the side of government to also show some understanding,” he added.

“Let’s meet ourselves halfway and then open the schools to save the fate of our children.”

The governor, who equally faulted the poor maintenance culture in the country, added that there is a need to work on it.

“But let me also say that most of the time, our people have a low appetite for maintenance of public works,” Umahi said.

“No matter how much you deploy to these universities unless the users and the industry regulators begin to treat public infrastructure as their own in the various universities, it will continue to go bad.

Politics / Minister: Nigeria’s Food Production At Substantial Level Despite Insecurity by ericendurance1: 11:19am On Aug 05, 2022

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLja1vQlmgc

Mohammad Abubakar, minister of agriculture, says food production has not dropped “significantly” despite the current security challenges in the country.

Abubakar said this on Thursday in Abuja during the state house ministerial briefing.

He expressed dismay that attacks by herders and terrorists have denied some farmers the opportunity to go to their farms, especially in the north-west and north-central regions of the country.

However, he, maintained that food production has continued at a substantial level in most parts of the country.

“It is a concern for the government but if you notice, despite that, production has not dropped to any significant level,” the minister said.

“That is one of the reasons why we have an arrangement for security agents known as Agro-Rangers, who are providing some measures of security so that the farmers will be able to access their farms.

“Truly, if they cannot completely access farms all over the country, you will expect a drop in production but right now we are doing everything possible to make sure both production is maintained through that security provision.”

The vast majority of South/East miscreants who stood against the unity of Nigeria in the name of Biafra are now shamelessly supporting Peter Obi.

This is a country where you disowned, insulted and called "zoo" time without number. You vandalised our public institutions, killed our service men and women, brutally slaughtered innocent Nigerians who are legitimately residing in your region doing their businesses. You stopped and killed truck drivers, loots their belongings and many more atrocities.

In all these, no reprisal was made.

Now that the four cardinal points met on your heads, you want your son to be the next President of "ZOO"?

Peter Obi still has not contravened his principles. He is against use of public funds to buy or charter private jet for public jobs we understand that.
But if someone supports his campaign efforts in his own way(private jet) just like all of us are doing Peter Obi has no choice but to accept.
